I rarely listen to audiobooks, but I had this oddly strong urge to try mending some old, worn-out sheets, and I love Adam Savage, so I started this one. Belated realization: Listening to audiobooks (at least on #Scribd, not sure about other formats) makes it difficult to capture quotes on the fly, and Adam Savage is a reigning grandmaster of quotability. WHAT TO DOOOO. 😆

This wasn't my favorite book by ARC, but I did enjoy it. I couldn't fully connect with any of the characters, but thought that the magic was interesting. The atmosphere of the setting was done nearly perfectly, however. I really like when magic is connected to nature, and this was a great example of that. The redwood forest scenes were my favorite of the book. The setting is reminiscent of The Raven Boys, but the similarities don't really ⬇️

rjsthumbelina ...extend any further than that. I did like that most of the characters were queer as well. Listened to this #audiobook via #scribd #queerbooks 2w

I really went out of my comfort genres with this one but I am so glad I did. This book sucked me in almost from the beginning. I loved this twisted little book. I wish the ending didn't feel rushed but the rest of the book made it worthwhile. #audiobook #scribd

4.75⭐️

The story of a young fly tier who became obsessed and stole countless bird from a nature museum in hopes of using and selling the feather was one I never knew about before seeing this book. The author did such a good job telling the history and importance of these birds, the reported events of the theft and then the background and research he did into trying to understand the missing pieces of the case

SamAnne Loved it! I tie flies but do not use endangered bird feathers! 2w

I headed back to my comfort genre with this one. The difference being that the protagonist is usually middle to upper class. This one, she is a servant. New York around the turn of the century always fascinates me. I loves the setting, the mystery and the characters. I have already dives into book 2. #historicalfiction #historicalmystery #read #scribd #audiobook

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego A great month. I have to admit I've still never read HP. 🙈📖💖 3w
laur89 @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego 😮 No way! What‘s the reason behind this?! I‘ve been a Potterhead for so long, I can‘t ever remember not enjoying the Wizarding world. 3w
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I dunno, I wasn't as huge a reader in my teens, so I never got into them. 3w
laur89 @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego It‘s never too late to start reading them for the first time ☺️ the audiobooks read by Jim Dale are wonderful, and there‘s been an ongoing #HPBuddyRead with plenty of discussion, if you happen to decide to read them! 3w

Made it to almost four hours of reading today. Read 49 pages on The Hidden Life of Trees (in print), and from 0-64% on Rewrite Your Life (on #scribd). I was hoping to get at least one book finished today, but I can‘t keep my eyes open any longer. Sleepy time for now.

P.S. I‘m so tired I typed “54” instead of “24” and had to redo the graphic. Pretty sure @jb72 caught the incorrect post. 😆

jb72 LOL 😂 3w
IndoorDame I love this graphic! I'm going to try and make one. 3w
