1. Hillbilly Elegy. Only irritated me at the time, but I loathe it more & more. He should have just stuck w/ a family memoir instead of deciding to become a spokesperson for Appalachia, even though he didn‘t grow up in the region. Many Appalachian writers feel the same way & have written at least 2 books about it.

Scochrane26 @megabooks No, I didn‘t see that about Bevin. Doubt he read it. But, it was a big deal at ky book fair when it came out; I think everyone just hadn‘t read it yet. My book club went on a rant last month about it when a member said he finally read it. 1mo

Megabooks @Scochrane26 I read the audiobook for the armchair audies that year, and it was just terrible. Immediately returned it to audible!! 1mo
Scochrane26 @megabooks it‘s still a popular book. Can‘t believe Ron Howard is making it into a movie. I was ok w/ it as a family memoir, just not ok w/ saying that‘s how all of Appalachia is. There‘s families like that everywhere, & many who aren‘t like that in the region. 1mo
Megabooks @Scochrane26 The guy is from Ohio! Last I checked that‘s not even Appalachia!! That knocks Howard some notches down in my estimation! 😡😡 1mo
