Yay for me! I exceeded my goal of 40 books for 2021, though not surprising since… you know… Covid and all…. Edit: my daughters guilted me into reading 1 more so I‘d have 52, 1 book read for each week… so I spent the day reading… now I‘m at 52 🙄🤩😵💫
I finished these two historical fiction books this weekend. One about a southern mother wanting a girl so bad after 6 boys, she decides her latest newborn son will be a girl. And the other contains time travel.. WWI… changing history…but does it make the future better or worse? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟for both!!
I really enjoyed this one. I loved the show Sons of Anarchy and this read like it could‘ve been written for another season. 🤷🏻♀️ 2 dads regret how they treated their gays sons but will stop at nothing to find out who was behind their deaths. I enjoyed the narrator on this audiobook.
I gave my mom and dad haircuts tonight and I thought my 83 year old dad looked kinda cute reading while waiting for mom. A love of books runs in the family 🥰 He‘s a retired newspaper owner that we now own. Yet he still has an office and comes in every day cuz that‘s what he‘s always done.... #inkisinhisblood
I was disappointed in this one. I wanted to read it before the series came out but now I‘m not sure I‘m even going to watch the series 🤷🏻♀️ at least the cover was pretty
This book cover is too interesting to leave the dustjacket on! I've had this on my TBR pile for awhile now ( 510 pages ) but I see there's a movie so now I must read it before watching!
I might be in the minority but I found this audio book a bit ridiculous. It kept me entertained while driving, an easy book to listen to, but I found myself laughing at all the murders and twists. A bit too unbelievable.
I received this debut novel free from the author, with a promise to leave a review. He‘s an excellent writer and tells a very interesting and descriptive story. Look him up, he has an interesting bio himself! It‘s very Dan Brown and Tom Clancy -ish. The story has its beginnings in 1945 Berlin with the SS Reich and continues to current time, unearthing secrets around the world. I think it‘s fiction, but makes you wonder....
1. No, he thinks I become antisocial when I‘m reading 🙄 I tolerate his hunting, he can put up with my books! 2. All 4 of my kids love to read, all prefer different genres. Our 4 young grandkids all enjoy books too. 3. I think I have over 150 TBR books on my shelves and I want to read them all!!
I‘ve read almost all of Ania Ahlborn‘s books now. Brother is my all time favorite but holy crap, Apart in the Dark is soooo good. It‘s 2 novellas, The Pretty Ones is a good serial killer/unpopular girl story but I Call Upon Thee is soooo good! If you‘ve ever used a Ouija board and love to be creeped out, you should read it!! See ya later, I‘m off to buy a Ouija board!! Wish I‘d kept mine from the 80s!!
I just finished reading I‘m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid. It started out a pretty normal book and then took a quick turn into weird! Now I‘m watching the movie to see if I can make more sense of it lol but I did like the book!!
When it's 4:30 am and you can't sleep...move to the couch and read 😁 lol at least one of us can sleep 🐶
I‘m not even sure how to review this one! On the beaches of touristy Barbados, we meet several locals who‘s lives are intertwined with murder, the loss of a child, petty thievery and abuse. An interesting, well told story! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I read and enjoyed Firefly Lane awhile ago but wanted to read Fly Away before the Netflix series came out. I‘m not gonna lie, I skimmed through the last part of the book.. it went on..and...on..... though I‘m a fan of Hannah‘s style of writing, I‘m not always a fan of her stories. The Netflix series is a little cheesy but I‘ll give it a chance because I‘m a Kristin Hannah fan. Next up- The Four Winds.
I‘m finally reading the Diary of Anne Frank. I‘ve read a lot of historical fiction and some non fiction of the Holocaust and WW2 and have been to the Holocaust Museum in DC. My daughter was surprised I hadn‘t read it in school. Well, I‘m 55, I‘m not sure that the Holocaust was taught in school, in Iowa, back then?? Or do I just not remember learning about it?
My son gifted everyone books this year. He wrote a personal note in each one. 🥰 I‘m anxious to read this. #proudmom
This book was so good! If you loved Time Traveler‘s Wife, you must read this story! It‘s a similar type of sad love story. On her wedding day, Adeline makes a deal with a dark god, she doesn‘t want to be married, she wants to be free. But her freedom means that no one will ever remember her.... until one day, 300 years later, someone does...
Not your ordinary light holiday reading lol but 2020 has not been an ordinary year. I need something to keep my mind occupied. This was a creepy read! A little out there but if you believe in ghosts at all, it could be believable....
Well it‘s 70 in Iowa, my husband is out in shorts putting up the yard and house decorations. I broke out a few inside decorations, and this is my first and favorite tree to put up 😃 2020 has been quite the year, I‘m not even sure if anyone will get to see my decorations but I‘m ready to change things up and start getting festive!! #grammaslibrary #booktree
