Every Summer After | Carley Fortune

This book started off so strong and I was loving it, then the “reveal” happened and I didn‘t love it. What the “reveal” was felt so out of character for Percy. It didn‘t work for me. I want to keep this spoiler free so all I will say is what Percy did just wasn‘t consistent with how she acted all throughout the book.

This was a cute rom-com set in Ireland!

The best part of the book was definitely the setting. Ireland makes for an incredible backdrop to the story. I enjoyed how the book gave you a little tour through Ireland and explored some Irish culture like fairy stories.

The book is fairly short (around 300 pages) which was the perfect length. It was short and sweet.

Meet Me at Sunset | Lee Heart

This was such a cute middle grade romance!

The book is about tween girls and their crushes which reminded me of when I was that age. I always had crushes and would obsess over them just like the main character, Julie. Having crushes at that age is so fun and the book encompasses that.

I did the audio version, which had quite a good narrator. I don‘t think I would‘ve enjoyed it as much in print.
The premise of a new husband emerging from the attic whenever Lauren sends the last one up is frothy fun, and this is a good light choice for a summer read.

Commissarire Dupin & his heart surgeon girlfriend Claire take a 2 week vacation prescribed by Dupin‘s bosses to Brittany‘s Rose Coast. The pace of the book, the unfolding of the plot, the final interweaving of all the strands by Dupin, mimic a relaxed beach vacation mode.Among the huge, gorgeous pink boulders, the 2 start their mornings with coffee, croissants,& newspapers, lie on sandy beaches, swim in the brilliant blue sea, take walks, enjoy cocktails 🔽

kspenmoll & descriptive, mouth watering dinners. Definitely a #summerread #ABrittanyMystery #CommissaireDupin #serieslove2024 #porchlife #coffeeandbooks (edited) 1y
