So funny! Just make sure you read it on a full stomach or you‘ll eat your weight in Subway like I did.
I‘d say more, but the title says it all. #litsytbrlist
1. Jim Gaffigan cracks me up!
2. Bought my kids a Nugget and they love it. (See NuggetComfort on IG. Yes I really paid $229, but totally worth it!)
3. Mexican! Mmmm.
4. Yes. 17-20. It‘s complicated bc my aunt counts some of her stepkids as “her kids” now, but she hasn‘t been married that long and I‘ve never met them, and don‘t think of them as cousins.

📖 Gaffigan(foodie) makes you laugh out loud 🤣🤣

On a plane (again) with my new cordless headphones listening to the tagged. It‘s not as funny as I expected. A few chuckles, but really, it‘s a book of essays about various foods. As he says he‘s an “eatie” not a foodie. And that about sums up the book.
“Cake is way more important than pie.” (It‘s true!)
I enjoyed Jim Gaffigan‘s very comprehensive and humorous look at food in America. I especially liked the chapter on southern food. #LitsyAtoZ (4/26)
Day 4: I was only out for a bit. The trail was a little too icy for me. I‘m still enjoying my after work walk to unwind. The pinned book is somewhat entertaining. I hope to finish it later on the treadmill. #LitsyWalkers @kaye
Day 1: I was able to get 15 or so minutes of neighborhood walking in before heading in to the warm house and a cup of hot tea. A longer walk to follow (on treadmill) after I finish work reports that are due tomorrow. I prefer listening to nonfiction when walking and look forward to future walks and new audiobooks. #LitsyWalkers
Almost a pick but just shy. There were some humorous parts and then some misses. I applaud Gaffigan for writing a whole book (340 pages!) on food. I shared many parts with my husband, as we're both fans of his stand-up. A little rambly and I was ready for it to be done about 100 pages before it was though.
I love Jim Gaffigan and while I'm enjoying this whole book dedicated to food (his outlook on seafood needing to be renamed seabugs is hilarious) a lot of his stand-up bits are in this book which makes it less enjoyable for some reason unfortunately, since I've already heard them multiple times 😬😥
1. Food: A Love Story
2. Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole
3. A quiet place with nature (brings me to happy tears)
4. My daughter

Finished my Libby Audiobook - Jim Gaffigan is a comedian I enjoy and this is no exception! Think of a sort of continuous stand-up narrative comedy all about food. I like his voice and delivery- great for walking Whiskey! I recommend as a listen while you do other things read!👍🍌🍐🧀🥨🥖
1. The tagged book made me lol so much! I love Jim Gaffigan. 😂
2. December! 🎄
3. Yep - two girls. Who both read now! 🤩
4. Well, if sweet, a Twix. If salty, Gardettos. Or maybe just both. 😬
5. Coming to find you! #friyayintro
I listened to 90% of this book before my loan expired on my library‘s Libby app and was unable to renew it without getting in the hold line again. So I ended up checking out the book from the library to finish it up. It was a fun listen on my commute to work and I was glad to browse through the physical book as it included lots of pictures of Jim with his family and some funny graphics too.
Because today is shopping day....🤪
1. Weekly (but my husband does the shopping! Hahahaha)
2. I don‘t like salad, so by default I don‘t like salad dressing (though I will dip the occasional veggie into ranch)
3. Bake I LOVE baking! (My maiden name is Baker)
4. Yes—but I keep it small
5. Tagged book—Jim Gaffigan is my fave!
This book was amazingly funny! I laughed out loud several several times at the quirky outlook Gaffigan‘s perspective was on food and the food industry. I honestly will never look at lobster tail again the same way (sea bug butt 🤣🤣🤣). I also loved how conversational this audiobook was (read by Gaffigan) it felt like he was just personally telling me his wacky opinions. Definitely highly recommend for a great laugh!
Jim Gaffigan‘s ode to junk food won‘t resonate with kale lovers, but it‘s laugh-out-loud funny for the rest of us. The section about geographical food regions in the US was my favorite part, along with his horror of eating oysters.
MAN 1: I‘m hungry.
MAN 2: Me too. Hey, I found a rock with a snot in it. I was thinking of eating it.
MAN 1: Um, okay. Go ahead.
MAN 2: (slurps up the oyster)
MAN 1: What does it taste like?
MAN 2: Pneumonia.

I‘m starting the fifth week of The Great Book Giveaway 2018 on my blog The Midnight Goose this week. Who wants a stack of hardback memoirs? This week is all about love for Litsy, so if you‘re interested:
Starting this one on Audible because I‘m in the mood for something funny. 🌭
I live in Birmingham, Alabama- the heart of the Deep South. We do like our grits! “Grits. You can‘t really discuss Southern food without bringing up grits. When I reference grits during a stand-up show, Southerners will clap like I mentioned the college they attended or that I support the troops. Being southern means liking grits.” 🥣
