Third book read for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville Last book finished this month.
Well...same comment. I tried🤷🏽♀️I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as I would like. 3⭐️

Thrillers is one of my favorite genres and I really enjoyed this one. As many thrillers, there are some unrealistic events and other in some way predictable but this was a fast read. This is about a girl 2who goes missing during the Macy‘s Thanksgiving Parade. After 8 years parents receive a VHS where her daughter appears in a room playing. The story goes from there. I want to go blind in my thrillers. I haven‘t watch the tv series yet⬇️
Second book for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville Let me justify myself, there are some authors that just don‘t work for some readers even when they are amazing writers with awards and admirers. Well, sorry to say that the three books I read by this amazing author, didn‘t work for me. Again, I see a great story, interesting characters but the story per se, is just a narrative of events. This one has an unexpected twist but it was so at the end⬇️
Read for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
Please don‘t shoot me🙌This is an unpopular opinion. This is an amazing author and I really liked the prose. The topic is also interesting. However, in terms of how the story was developed, it didn‘t work for me. I didn‘t see the novel as a character driven one, the plot? I don‘t have much to say. I saw the novel as a beautiful narrative, description of events, stories, loose Stevens anecdotes⬇️
A free translation will be “Pretty Face”? 🤷🏽♀️The blurb in this book sounds so interesting. A woman is murdered and she, as a “ghost”, will help to resolve the mystery of her death, why she was murdered. It started so well but then the author gives so many irrelevant details that seemed he wanted to show much he knows about literature/psychodynamic model. Poor integrated to the story. Then will have an unnecessary pedophilia scene⬇️
Translated from the English language. Nothing was included about the translator. This is another beautiful for me edition from Impedimenta Publishers.
This is a YA thriller/gothic/suspense novel. It was a fast read. Some parts maybe were predictable but still, you want to continue with the story. There are some beautiful lines here. I like to go blind to my thrillers or mystery books. 3.8/⭐️
Another book with fall vibes. Maybe this one should be in the Litsy rating of “so-so” but it worked for me after reading many dark short stories☺️
A second chance romance. Jennifer will try to start a new life in this small town as an elementary teacher. I liked her relationship with Angela who owns a cafe near the park. Angela will introduce her Tom, the park caretaker and everything will start from there. I will continue with the series. 3⭐️
Another new author to me. Free translation will be like “Darkness is a Place”? Maybe...something like that.
This is another collection of short stories. There are 8 short stories under the genre of horror. I have mixed feelings with this collection. I didn‘t like the endings, maybe I didn‘t understand them well. However, I enjoyed this author writing style, her prose until I reached the end. I will like to try another book by her. Love the cover😍
This story was okay but cute. I liked the fall atmosphere, the small town
people, their gossips and drama. The romance part was “so-so”, those “spicy” scenes were sometimes boring🙄maybe because they sounded too cheesy😏
Jeannie inherited this cafe from her Aunt Dot and with this change in her life she will start a new, fresh beginning. But she started to hear some strange noises at the cafe and Logan, a local farmer who supplies products⬇️
Translated from Russian language. This is a collection of seven (7) dark short stories. They are a mix of science fiction, horror and dystopian. As usually happens with a collection of short stories, some of them are better than others. They are so peculiar with surrealist endings. This is a new author to me and I will say I like her writing style. This is a beautiful edition from Impedimenta Publisher. 4⭐️ ⬇️
Read for #Pemberlittens @Staycurious
This one was okay for me. It has a good ending hopeful, some parts were cute but didn‘t enjoy as much as I wanted. I usually enjoy YA novels but this one has some annoying characters and their decision....and the drama...🙄maybe too YA without happening much.🤷🏽♀️ 2.9/3⭐️
A late read for #CBBC 2023 Mixed feelings with this cozy mystery set in the 1958. The mystery was interesting but main character was so annoying in some way. Even when she was the one who resolved the mystery which is not a spoiler but an obvious comment, I didn‘t like the way she was treated by some of these men...and she just cried all the time or seemed not to understand the insult. Maybe was me but I couldn‘t stand this. 2.95/3? ⭐️
Third and last book in this trilogy. I started this series with the first book during the #CBBC I enjoyed the first 2 books where the 2nd book was the best. This conclusion was okay, too repetitive, nothing new to add to the mystery. I don‘t think it was necessary. The author could concluded the story in the second book😕2.50/3⭐️
This is the last book in this series but the story is a pre-sequel, what happened before the Hunger Games, how and why these games were created. It is about who is Coriolanus Snow. The story is slow and repetitive, maybe this should be rated in Litsy as a so-so. But I still liked to know who was this character and how and why this world existed. For me was interesting. Snow....you born like that or you were raised like that?🤔 3⭐️
The conclusion of this trilogy. I would say that the beginning of the story was a little bit repetitive and I was a little bored..but then...the action began..and...the end😢I really enjoyed this trilogy. So good. 4⭐️One of those that you keep thinking about the story and that ending after you finished it. Fantastic narrator. That‘s my Hunger Ganes tote bag😍
This is one of those few sequels that you keep interesting to know more about the world and the characters. The first book ended in a way that you want to continue the story. Not much to say since this is a sequel. This one also ends in a way that you want to grab that third book and devour it. The audiobook is with the same narrator. Lucky me that I started this series when all the books were available i read straight the whole series 4⭐️
Mix feelings with this one because of the ending but it started so well. This couple went to this isolated cabin, owned by Faye‘s parents. They would celebrate their engagement. But then there are “ghastly” noises...someone/something is out there in the woods🥺The audiobook is amazing. I enjoyed this horror novel. Fast reading. 3/3.5⭐️
Book was received last year during #CreepyChristmas 2022 from @CindyLufeIsLit @teebe (coordinator)
What can I say? It was fantastic as a YA Post Apocalyptic novel. The audiobook was fantastic with narrator Tatiana Maslany. I need to watch the movies again. Couldn‘t put it down. 4⭐️

It was a nostalgic reading maybe remembering those old movies which I like to watch sometimes. After her husband death, Lucy moved to this house to change her life, good for her. But the house was haunted by the “ghost” of Captain Gregg who used to scared everyone except Lucy. Then, the story goes narrating the strange relationship between these two characters. It was an unrealistic but pleasant read for this fall season. 3⭐️
This was last month author for the #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville but with this challenge I‘m trying to read books that I own by that author, no matter if I read it after that month. I want to continue reading books by this author.
I really enjoyed this one, the mystery, the characters and the ending. Not too complicated, fast read. 3.8/4⭐️ Love the cover too😍

🎄I decorate the tree and some items around the house. Even my pjs are Christmas related☺️
🎄I will say lights and candles with this season scents
🎄Various because I like our typical music the one we use during “parrandas” (something I don‘t do but enjoy the music) but also those American oldie songs. There are some songs that I relate with my favorite movies that I enjoy to listen. Love also instrumental music.

15 books read during October. A productive reading month for me 📚🤗
I enjoyed every book. A combination of new and oldie books in my tbr and books received from swaps.
#BookSpin & #DoubleSpin read @TheAromaOfBooks
Last book completed during the month of October. Read for AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
I liked it but not loved the story. The story behind why these places were haunted, was a sad one, terrible. The main character seems so unreal sometimes too naive🙄There is some romance, but also some triggers, dysfunctional relationships and sexual assault. 3.5 ⭐️

October #BookSpinBingo (#7) @the AromaOfBboks
I was a little hesitant to read this book because after I bought a couple of books by this author, I I found that they are from a Christian publisher. I didn‘t know how much religious content the story could have which is not my thing. But surprisingly I liked and enjoyed the story. I could say that only the last part has more religious content but it was a general didn‘t bother me. A mystery related with family secrets and drama⬇️
A different house haunted story. Book has mixed reviews with low rating but I liked it. I liked the dynamic/dialogue between characters and the twist at the end. If you are a fan of oldie horror movies, here you will find some references of movies and horror books during the dialogue between these two characters. It reminds me those dialogues in some of SK books like Duma Key and Colorado Kid. YouTuber @TheShadesOfOrange has a great review⬇️
It is a big book but I didn‘t feel it. It was a page turner for me. I liked the story, the characters, the plot and the twists. It also has beautiful illustrations. Ready for book 2 it is supposed to be an adult high fantasy but in some areas it has some YA elements?🤔 Maybe. But I enjoyed this one. I have two editions because I didn‘t want to destroy the special edition with my annotations. Not a book holder but a book collector
📚😌 4/4.3⭐️
I think this was a good closure for this YA trilogy. Maybe predictable but the story has action, suspense, mystery. The ending was hopeful, supportive. I liked it. 3.5⭐️

Mixed feelings with this book. In general, there were interesting parts and action but as I mentioned before, there are stories that can be concluded in one or two books. A third book turns sometimes to be repetitive with unnecessary details, dragging the story, at least for me 3⭐️

I like how this author describes the atmosphere of her stories. In this story, I didn‘t like much the main character Shea but I found Beth so interesting. I liked how the story starts with these suspenseful/mysterious events that occurred in the past and the connection with Beth. I think the ending was a little too “convenient” to resolve the situation. 3.5/3.7⭐️
The gifts in this subscription box were okay.
Unpopular opinion for this YA gothic horror story, I liked this book more than the first one. New drama and a different, more mature Louise. The reunion at Coldthistle will introduce new characters and we will know other aspects about Mr. Morningsude. It still have some repetitive parts but it will end in a cliffhanger. 3.5⭐️Love the book cover
Book 2 in this trilogy. The story has interesting parts like this society where Kasey joined, the ritual, the story about the ritual and the impact of that ritual in these students. Again will see the dynamic between sisters and friends. The spooky part was interesting as a YA story. I still think that the whole trilogy could be integrated in 2 books 3⭐️
October #BookSpinBingo (#16) @TheAromaOfBooks
A YA horror story based on the life of Elizabeth Bathory. The story is more related with legends around her “vampiric tendencies”. I liked the story but sometimes I found Anna too naive and unreal but...???...clever Anna😲It is a gory story.
3/3.5⭐️

Read in my birthday day, October 9th. A different vampire story. I really liked how author explained Lydia experiences, sensations as a vampire. A character driven novel where several topics are discussed like: belonging, becoming adulthood, race, mother-daughter relationship, affective relationships, sexual harassment, assault, relation with food-hunger (in many ways). There are so many references about art/literature. Beautiful! ⬇️
I really liked this story. I have to say that I like so much how this author describes the events. This is about an expedition to try to locate Arcadia ship and explore what happened. Cove and her team will dive to examine the area but it seems that inside Arcadia “...something dark and hungry watches from below” (taken from the book blurb). Maybe the ending was abrupt, maybe some parts were repetitive dragging the story but it was atmospheric⬇️
Book 2 in this trilogy. I read first book for #CBBC and decided to continue with the series. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. In this story Violet will be involved in two investigations. We will know more about her witchy world and new interesting characters are introduced. It was a fast read very cozy as expected. Ready for book 3⭐️Where we continue to know about witchy family secrets☺️
Book read in Ictober during #Rushathon @Andrew65
This was a fun read for the spooky season. An horror/dystopian story set in this park where “Fun was Guaranteed”. But then a hurricane destroyed the Florida coast isolating this park, and chaos began to display in a most extreme and gory way. The story is narrated in the form of interviews and I recommend the audio. I liked it. Maybe it seems absurd but ⬇️
I read this book during October #Rushathon @Andrew65
It was interesting. I liked those first pages where the character described so well her experience in turning to a vampire. We always have heard that vampires are selfish and possessive. Well, this story describes so well how they could be. But at the end it turns into a story about a dysfunctional vampire relationships🧛♀️🩸 😳☺️
3.5⭐️ Love that edition😍
