This was yesterday during our swimming practice. The water was so clear and you can see a sea star 😍A perfect day also to read. Where we were swimming you could see many colorful fish. So pretty!

#Staycationintimeswap package arrived yesterday but I picked it up today. I have the name of my match but not the Litsy name. Thank you so much Brag🥰 Waiting for the opening date🤗

Brittany and Anna contract Nico to go to Menroe a small and isolated island located in the Pacific Ocean to celebrate their last semester in college. Nico‘s girlfriend, Luz was also invited. When they arrived there were two more persons in the island. The are rumors that the island is cursed and you can become mad. Unlikely characters. Nothing about them is true and the worst of them will be revealed in the island. Will they survive? It was ok⬇️
Another thriller that I really enjoyed. A boarding school with an elite group of students with cuestionable morale. Family drama with a disappearance of a family member, a suicide, betrayals and a murder. Is everything connected? Who is lying? What would you do just to keep your image and power? Is everything related with this elite group? It was a fast read. I couldn‘t put it down. A particular situation was so unrealistic to me. 3.8/4⭐️
Alex will help Molly to get the attention of Cora and at the same time this will help Alex to gain the trust of her ex girlfriend. The story is predictable but it was cute. There are other topics like knowing and accept yourself, cultural identity, alcoholism and believe in yourself. You will love Alex and her relationship with Molly. I really enjoyed it. I didn‘t know the authors are married so lovely their acknowledgment notes🥰3⭐️That cover😍
A combination of family/couple drama, related with a boarding school, character looking for her life identity and independence. So good. The audiobook was excellent. Many unlikely characters, many perspectives but so well integrated. Even when some twists were predictable to me I was wrong in The Who did it. Fast read. 3.8/4⭐️ The gifts in this subscription box for this were practical. I liked them.
I‘m not a fan of books written in verse but the audiobook helped me in this reading process. I appreciate when authors explain within the story foreign words or expressions. Spanish is my first language, but some words here were not familiar to me. But besides that, what a beautiful story. Loved it. A family drama, with secrets, betrayal, grief, but also hope and second chances. Two families will revealed how Yahaira and Camino are related. 4⭐️
What a cute story. August is trying to be independent, start a new stage in her life and moved to NY. There she lives with these peculiar, funny, great roommates adding adventures to her life. Then one day on the train she sees this attractive and different girl who seems to be trapped in the 70‘s in term of her music taste. Who is this Jane? A real person? Someone from the past? A ghost? August and the roommate gang will discover the mystery.
Mixed feelings with this book. You know who The Butcher is just in the first chapter but the story was interesting how the author was building this character. However, some actions were so unrealistic and some were too predictable. But I liked the writing style as a thriller🤷🏽♀️. I can‘t say almost anything without spoil the story. 3⭐️

⬛️I‘m open to a good recommendation to start with this sub-genre🤗

✍️ I don‘t think an author will be upset if he/she/they is called a writer. But usually author is for a person who has published his/her/their work.
✍️I wish I could but I don‘t have that skill, talent. I think is wonderful, amazing how every artist can transform an idea, something observed or felt in a piece of art, music, book. It is like an explosion of feelings. Intrigued how that thought process is absorbed by meaningful words
This was a sweet surprise @Meshell1313 I didn‘t expect it but thank you so much for this beautiful book of New Jersey recipes. I was reading and looking the book and it was so interesting because the author tried to include recipes from different cultures because he describes the state as “...a complicated” one due to different cultural influences. There are so many delicious recipes here😋that I want to try and taste😋I‘m so grateful🥰❤️❤️❤️
@MommyofTwo the #CBBC box arrived this weekend. Both, book and journal, smell like coffee☺️Thank you so much for sending me those Scrabook items. Love them, all of them. I like so much the stamps, the stickers and paper. I‘m always decorating something! 🤗

I‘m still waiting for two items for the #StaycationInTimeSwap box. @DinoMom @Chrissyreadit
I enjoyed this cozy mystery. As expected in a cozy mystery, there was a murder in this small neighborhood. How the mystery was resolved is what I liked in this story. I wish I could sense things in the way this character did (no spoiler). I think I will like to have a cat 🐈⬛ like Allister. ☺️
I‘m planning to read the other two books in this series. 3.5⭐️

2nd book in this trilogy. I liked this world of necromancy. In this book Tea continue her journey to find her friend‘s heartglass (no spoiler). This trilogy is so gloomy. Almost every story and journey is so sad. There are no many fun or happy scenes but I‘m still want to know what will happen with these characters, specially with Tea. 3.8⭐️
3rd book in this series. You should read them in sequence. As the other two books, I liked the story idea but there is too much sex. This is the story of Tink, Hook and Peter in a twisted story. Is Hook the villain? There are parts with unexpected clichés since they have this unique, not healthy sex life🤷🏽♀️But I liked the story. 3⭐️

In this Teashop some people will share tea, with desserts and something else, companion, reading club. A friendship will start among these neighbors. Everyone has a story and a secret that they will share and support. A place for second chances. It was a fast read, maybe predictable but cute. I enjoyed it. 3⭐️

🫖It was a combination of the story, who recommended and the cover. It was cute.
Thank you for the tag @EadieB @Eggs @TheSpineView 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Not book related but a cute photo. We went to Condado area to our swim practices and look what we found besides beautiful and colorful fish! Two manatees! I hope you can see them. This is a photo taken from a video a person recorded.

📖Montmartre in Paris, but I was that year in Paris doing a marathon and I needed to visit it.
📖 Yes! Specially if it is in a different edition.
📖A combination of the three options. If I like the author‘s writing style, I will try another book written by that author. Beautiful covers can possess me☺️but at the end I will go by the synopsis. Difficult to unhaul unfavorite books with beautiful covers.
Thanks @Eggs

🌗This is the first time I use this term. I usually refer myself as “moody reader” but I never have used the term for a book.
🌗Moody book? Maybe a book that have changes in the tone of the plot or changes in the character dynamic? Am I correct? If so, then, I definitely like moody books.🤗
Thank you @EadieB 🥰
@TheSpineView
I like this author and her writing style. I know their stories can be slow, they are more character driven but with unlikely characters. As in Penance, we see revenge, morally questionable in their motives to justify their actions. I couldn‘t put it down. It was like a study of disturbed personalities caused for the presence of various factors. There social criticism. I can understand the mixed reviews but in my case I liked it. 4⭐️
This was a cute YA romance. Probably it should be rated as so-so but I found some part lovely but it is cheesy and very YA. What I liked was how Kimi, a Japanese American, tried to find her roots during her travel to Japan. Lovely relation with her grandparents and beautiful relation with her mother. I also found myself looking for some places, food and items they mentioned as part of the culture. 3⭐️
Hilarious story. I really enjoyed the interaction of these four women while they stay in an Italian castle for a month. Different personalities and backgrounds, different motives to stay at the castle. I liked the sarcasm tone of those dialogues, absurd situations. Even the author‘s life was peculiar. This edition has an introduction part. Better to read it after the novel. 3.5/3.8⭐️ #BookSpinBingo May 2022 #DoubleSpin @TheAromaOfBooks
#ASliceOfSummer aesthetic ambience. I love to be at the beach at early hours in the morning or early hours in the afternoon. Usually those are quiet hours, only few persons so you can relax yourself and listen the ocean waves. A perfect place to read under a palm tree (careful with the coconuts☺️) comfy beach seat, a coffee or iced coffee and a perfect book. Some fruits and food. I wish I could do that often. Thanks
@babyruth2510 @catsandbooks
YA fantasy where Tea will discover that she is a Bone Witch when she raised her brother from his grave without knowing what she was doing. This first book is to describe Tea‘s training as bone witch and how she will discover her powers. I really enjoyed it. Ready for the second book. 3.5/3.8⭐️

What a beautiful book. A family saga during different period of times in Vietnam. The story is told fromGuava (Huong) and her grandmother perspectives. How the wars affected these two generations. So many sad scenes during those battles😢so important to know their own voices since the author said was part of that aftermath. I loved to know about their culture and folklore. The audio was perfect to have a sense of how the language sounds. 4.5/5⭐️

A sad but beautifully written memoir. The author will share her experience of her mother tragic death, how both of them suffered from racism and domestic abuse. You can see so well the domestic abuser mind schema (if that is the correct word) in those phone calls transcripts. Could her mother‘s death have been prevented?
😢😔5⭐️
I‘m not the target audience for this book which is a middle grade. I like middle grade books but I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as I would liked. The story was too long and confusing but this is an unpopular opinion. Most people like this series. I don‘t think I will continue with it. I liked Mini, so funny. This book I think is great to introduce children with Hindu mythology and folklore. 3⭐️
A cute YA book. Arthur will meet Ben during the summer in some strange circumstances, maybe the universe wanted to connect them? You need to read the story to understand this phrase. Many things will happen that summer between these two characters from different backgrounds. I think they resolved their life situations very well taking in consideration their age, communication is the clue. Funny YA scenes and I liked the end, was different.
As expected in most of Short Story Collection, I liked some short stories more than the others but I found that the ends in these stories were rushed and inconclusive. Well, maybe I should say that I‘m not so fan of short stories in general but I keep trying them. 3⭐️But I like that cover ❤️
Martha, at age 79, wants some changes in her life and decides to commit a white collar crime with her friends at the retirement house who will help her. The scenes were unrealistic, absurds, but funny. However, I think it was too long with unnecessary scenes. Sometimes i just felt bored. 3 ⭐️

📖 The tagged book is a physical book. I really don‘t like to read ebooks unless is necessary, like sometimes there are novellas in a series that only comes in ebook. But besides that situation, I don‘t like to read ebook.

🧠 If I am overwhelmed, I need a space, a moment of silence, solitude to calm myself to control my breath rhythm and thoughts. A very important step. No talk. But also I like to exercise, walk and look the nurture, the beach, the trees. I like to listen music to calm my soul and of course, I loved to read.
🧠I practiced the steps mentioned above 🙌

Izumi, a Japanese American young adult discovered that her father is a prince in Japan. She want to discover her heritage roots his father family and will travel to Japan. Izumi question who she is, her cultural identity where she feels rejection in America for being a Japanese and in Japan for being a foreigner. The story is okay but cute with expected characters YA behaviors and expressions. 3⭐️I will like to read the sequel.
I saw the audiobook was free and decided to read the book. I really enjoyed this one. Benjamin Chaparro decides to write a book to manage his retirement idleness. He will write about a crime case that occurred more than 20 years ago which he investigated. It has two time lines and I liked that slow character driven writing style. It has that existentialist tone about life. There is a good movie adaptation but with different end. 4⭐️
This novel was for me like a cozy mystery in some way. Everything started with the #MayMothers group. All these women were going to have their babies during that month. They support each other but there are secrets. The author said that the idea came from a group she used to attend. One of the babies will disappear and a murder will occur. The group will make their own investigation. I didn‘t see that twist coming. 3.5⭐️
I liked the premise of this book. I think Frida would faced legal consequences in our real world and would receive parenting counseling. But this school was extreme, some scenes were absurd but I expect that in dystopian novels. However, I think it was unnecessarily repetitive in some parts. I still think this would be good for a movie or tv serie adaptation. The end...? Well..you need to read it. 3.75⭐️ I‘m a bad mother but learning to be good”
I liked the premise of this book. It has action, mystery and suspense. I think it describes very well a person who has drinking problems where the person take poor decisions to resolve problems that usually put his/her life at risk, no self control. But the ending of this novel was so abrupt, too easy and unbelievable😳It was like a great fall how it ended🤷🏽♀️3⭐️
This one was the last book read during May #20in4 #Readathon @Andrew65 and it was the book for me to read for #CBBC @mommamanzi
It was a light cozy mystery with funny scenes and the expected town gossip. I didn‘t expect that twist. The protagonist has sometimes impulsive personality🙄and there will be second chances. Do we expect a sequel?🤔🤷🏽♀️3 ⭐️
