I‘m still working on January‘s #BookSpin but that hasn‘t stopped me from making my list for February. I‘m trying to keep the chunksters at bay so my new to list tiles are both less than 600 pages. As always thanks to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting.

Not a full review do to the ongoing Harpercollins strike. 5⭐️

Just finished a comfort re-read of this masterpiece. This book is so entertaining. It was just as wonderful the second time around. I love Robin Hobb.
I cannot believe it's time to set up the 2023 #BookSpin lists! I reorganized my list and I did a page count this time so I only have one really chonky boi. I put them in order from chonkiest to not so hopefully we don't get a lot of draws next to each other lol. I am so hype for the second!!!
As always thanks to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting.

Didn't have to think very hard about March's pick... Robin Hobb is in a league of her own. I didn't think any other series could rival Fitz & The Fool, but I was wrong, she has captured my imagination all over again with the Liveships trilogy.
Epic, original, emotional, incredible... I'm on the third book now.
I had to stop reading this book for a few months because the main characters seemed to take the worst possible decisions whenever possible. I picked the book back up last week, and the adventure and prose grabbed me. hope to read the next two books soon.
I have to give c-RAE-dit to @RaeLovesToRead for this recommendation. I haven't read any of the other Hobb trilogies. There may be better starting points to introduce oneself to the sprawling fictional world she's created. Still, what impressed me most about this book was how intimate it felt - a handful of characters and settings rendered in exquisite detail that still managed to give a sense of the larger world outside the story. 5⭐️

Thanks for the tag, @RaeLovesToRead 😎
1. That's an easy one, Ship of Magic. Technically, it's also my least favorite book of August, since it's the only one I've read this month 😩 But I do enjoy it quite a bit.
2. Like all the best fantasy epics, it has all those things. Will probably seek out Hobb's other series as well.

Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView
1. Probably more than one, but the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy comes to mind right away.
2. Fantasy epic involving living ships 🚢
Tag everyone!
I am only on the first chapter of this book but I can already tell that I'm falling deeply in love with it! The writing is just so vivid and beautiful! Although it's a bit warm today, there is also a refreshing breeze which makes reading in the woods especially delightful! 🌿📚💕
My next adventure begins today! 💕📚 This is a huge chonk of a book! I'm so excited to get lost in the story!

1. Thank to @RaeLovesToRead and her incessant evangelizing, Ship of Magic is now indelibly stamped into my subconscious, so I'm going to have to say that.
2. Not at all. I'm either concentrating on a book or listening to music, but if I try them simultaneously both end up being a disaster.

1) My favourite word game is easily Codenames. Seriously recommend it if you have 3 other people to play it with. There's even a saucy "After Dark" version and a picture version.
Also love Scrabble, but don't play it with my Dad cause he takes about half an hour to take a turn.
2)... positive change.
3) Ship of Magic ??
#aestheticallymatched
I think both these pictures work for Ship of Magic: A colourful adventure set on the stormy seas!
Absolutely incredible.
This book was rich in storytelling, characters, lore and action. The world felt so real, it was like I was in every tavern, on every deck, at every gathering, right there with the characters.
Ambitious, vast, enthralling, emotional, entertaining, epic...
I don't even like books set on boats!
A spellbound 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
(I need the next 2x volumes RIGHT NOW!!!!)
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1. This. Book. Is. INCREDIBLE so far.
2. I would say Black & British by David Olusoga
3. I hardly ever bail, although I have a number of unfinished poetry collections on the go. Tend to dip in and out.
Let me see your lovely faces! 😁😄 @The_Penniless_Author @TheNeverendingTBR @Yuki_Onna @JenReadsAlot @sprainedbrain @Simona TAG! You're it!
Only on page 42 and already 10x more serpenty than the Essex Serpent 🤣
Usually I hate books set on boats, but for Robin Hobb, I'll make an exception 💕
Best thing today is to snuggle up and read. It's storm number 3 outside, this time with snow and hail...
Saw this on FB and it resonated with me. I think I may dive back into Robin Hobb‘s worlds.
Sorting through my fantasy chunksters and trying to decide where to go after finishing Stormlight.
Do I dive into Wheel of Time knowing there's a bzillion of them to come?
Do I keep it Sanderson and move straight on to Mistborn?
Do I trust my lovely friend Tim and go for Malazan next?
Do I continue my journey with Robin Hobb? (I told myself I'd read the Liveships before I bought the next Fitz and the Fool trilogy)
Or do I go King Arthur?
Finished the first book of the wayward children‘s series and while I liked it, not sure I am going to continue reading that series.
Decided to reread the first book of this series and finally read the rest and finish this series. Always loves the first book having read it many years ago. Never knew why I didn‘t finish the series.

I received the books I ordered from Thrift Books. The top two are for my grandson and the bottom book,The Thorn Birds, is for the July #ThornBirdsReadAlong I am hosting. Love #bookmail 💜📚📖📕📪
Fantastic book with some much living imagination I feel I am these characters and am experiencing the same emotions. This is a fantastic beginning to a wondrous series 💙😍😘📖🍾

I enjoyed this from the first chapter to the last. From the colourful cast to the beautiful setting to the story threads to be pulled in book two, it had me engrossed. Arguably a better start than the Farseer trilogy I felt like I was watching some kind off strategy game where I can‘t see the whole board, but every players move seems integral to the end point, which is admittedly, a long way off yet. Pic is the Mary Rose in case you‘re curious!

I‘ve had this book and series on my radar for some time, perhaps I‘ll get to it this year...
Don‘t be put off by the covers, Robin Hobb‘s Liveship Traders books are every bit as good as her more popular Farseer novels. In fact, in some respects, I think they are even better!

In these uncertain times I wanted a story that would pull me right in, out of this world & into an authentic, fully realised, detail dense & utterly immersive alternative one so I could leave my anxieties behind for a while. Hobb did not let me down. This really is quality fantasy. Writing & characterization are top notch. A long book but every page was a joy to read. Perfect to disappear into for a while
I loved every second of this epic adventure and lost myself in this amazingly vivid world. This is a book to disappear into.
So, so good!!!
Finished the tagged book, loved it, full review to follow. However, it took me 4 whole weeks! 4 weeks!
Which I was feeling pretty despondent about until I read a Facebook post about how many books people have read while in lockdown & one lady casually dropped that she's read 48 (!!!) and now I'm crushed by my own sense of failure!
I have, however, played Frustration with my nearly 6 year old over 7 billion times. 🤣🤣🤣
Spent most of my day out in the garden reading this gem.
I have so many feelings, I absolutely loved this book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"It was that her anger had learned a terrible patience. What good was wasting words on a petty and tyrannical second mate? He was a little yapping dog. She was a tigress."
Yes girl!! ?
Jumping back into some Robin Hobb. 880 pages long and hoping to finish this by Sunday. I will give it a good try. 😂
#stayhomereadingrush
Really need to disappear into a story right now. My anxiety is rampant, my concentration shot. I need something to distract me from reality for the sake of my mental health.
Stay in, stay safe folks.

1- Hard question! I want to learn, be entertained. I want to be transported and look at the world different when I‘m finished!
2- sometimes - I usually go up rather than down.
Excellent entry into the Liveship Traders trilogy, second trilogy in the larger 16 book Realm of the Elderlings series. #sevenseas #RedroseSeptember
After not reading this book for months because I found out I'm not the biggest "ship book" fan, I did find myself very amused by the personality of the pirate and the personality of the "monk" in the beginning. I hope the book stays entertaining!
Good fantasy world and character development. Moves at a good pace and I wasn't bored with any part. It didn't have me reluctant to put it down and deal with reality like some books I've read, but I did enjoy it and look forward to reading the next two.
I loved this & it also drove. me. crazy. I loved the characters & things just kept getting worse for them, and I spent a lot of the book plotting ways to get rid of Kyle. Or have someone take him down a peg. Or just punch him in the face. It took me so long to read it because I‘d get so mad at what was happening that I‘d have to take a break! Fantastic world-building, compelling characters, & a satisfying ending—I need to read the next book ASAP!
I finished the tagged book tonight, bringing my April total to 10 books! 🙌🏼 And I think it was one of my favorites of the ten, along with Felicity and The Shepherd‘s Crown. I still need to catch up on my reviews, but here are my April stats:
⚔️SFF: 4
📓Poetry: 1
👧🏻YA: 2
📰 Nonfiction: 1
🗯Comic: 1
🔍Mystery: 1
📖Print: 7
🎧 Audio: 2
🖥eBook: 1
📚TBR: 3
📖Owned/re-read: 2
🏫Library: 5
Reading outside at lunch on this grey & moody day. I‘m determined to finish this one in April—I‘ve been working my way through it for too long (kept getting distracted by book club picks and shorter reads). Only 130 pages to go!
I finished two books today (one audiobook and one middle grade) and started two others. I am absolutely loving the tagged book, as I expected. I love getting sucked into Robin Hobb's world! #24b4Monday @Andrew65 @TheReadingMermaid
I just started a new book at lunch, and I‘m kind of in love with the acknowledgments!
While I love all the books in Robin Hobb‘s Realm of the Elderlings, I love The Liveship Traders Trilogy just a teeny tiny bit more than all the rest. A fantasy series for adults with strong female characters, pirates, and talking ships - what‘s not to love! #24in48 #Hour30Challenge
What a fabulous giveaway, thank you @erzascarletbookgasm
This year has been an amazing one....I discovered Litsy! Which has led to finding some amazing bookish friends and fantasy books! It‘s just been the best reading year ever! How to continue the upward curve in 2019?
#festivebookishbox
The Farseer trilogy is definitely my favorite Robin Hobb and it is no contest but I've been working my way through this chunkster for a bit. Interesting characters and it felt like several different worlds within this one. Now that I'm done with this one, I'm wondering about many of the characters, so I will definitely finish the series.
