Well written book, documenting many sad cold cases. I liked the fact that the author didn‘t sensationalize the stories ,but gave as much detail as possible, while also telling more about each of the kids and what they were like. There were a few cases I hadn‘t read as much about, like The Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders and the ABC murders from the 70s. Phone #s for each case are in the back. A couple have been solved since the book was written. 4🌟

I didn‘t love this one. I can‘t really put my finger on why. A teenage girl suspicious of her new stepmom finds a suitcase full of money and a bloody knife. She starts calling numbers from a notebook in the suitcase and stirs up her stepmom‘s past, which was better left alone. #S #LitsyAtoZ #GraphicNovel2019

Bookzombie @GondorGirl Should I use the hashtag on every graphic novel I read this year or just two a month? I may not always get in more but I have this month. 🤓 4mo
GondorGirl Feel free to use it all the time- it's a great way to find more graphic novels for our TBRs! 4mo

I really enjoyed this #fairytaleretelling of Beauty and the Beast. The book is mainly from the viewpoint of Beauty, but at the end of each chapter you get a snippet of the Beast‘s thoughts, which was an interesting touch. #booked2019 #litsyatoz #s

I normally try to avoid books longer than 400 pages, but this one had been sitting on my #TBR shelf for years and it was time. I actually really enjoyed it! #LitsyAtoZ #S✔️

1) Hannibal Lecter, although Joffrey from GOT would also be terrible.
2) Eyebrows...at least I can draw them back on.
3) Global warming, animal protection, & in general not being dicks.
4) Caribou Coffee. Lindt Chocolate.
5) a phone number that called...I don't answer #s I don't recognize
6) so so many words...especially words with repeating consonants like in parallel.
7) over, but not that important to me.

Saga Vol. 9 | Brian K. Vaughan
post image

I like to get SAGA in issues because the letters page usually makes me feel a bit better after Staples and Vaughan have tried to kill me by piling on the distressing shit.

I gulped down Vol 9 this morning, and it ended exactly as I expected it to (because I'm REALLY GOOD at textual evidence, and Hazel's dropped a lot of hints over the years), and... yeah. There were no letters after #54, but the ones from #s 49-53 helped? Maybe?

UrsulaMonarch I gotta look back for Hazel‘s foreshadowing!! 6mo
xicanti @UrsulaMonarch I started paying attention to possibly-death-related textual evidence around Vol 4, and Hazel's Alana reminiscences seemed to stretch further into her personal timeline than the ones about Marko. I REALLY REALLY HOPE that means Alana didn't die from that huge fall she took in this volume, though I know better than to expect she's okay. 6mo
UrsulaMonarch @xicanti yiiiiikes! I hadn‘t thought about that either! Thanks for your careful reading - maybe during the hiatus I‘ll reread and pay attention to that dimension! Thanks!! 6mo
