Was gifted a mini shopping spree for my Valentines gift ğ¬ and this time I didn‘t cry in the middle of the store out of panic! ğ Progress.

Have you read Horrorstör? I haven‘t read it yet but I recently acquired a copy and hope to read it before April, when Grady Hendrix‘s new book comes out. I‘ve already preordered The Southern Book Club‘s Guide to Slaying Vampires, even though books involving vampires don‘t usually appeal to me. But Hendrix‘s book sounds AMAZING! Are you excited for it, too?
I just can't get off the Grady Hendrix train! This was fun and scary. Who would have guessed an IKEA knockoff store could be possessed of evil spirits. The story pretty much takes place for the span of one horrifying night. I enjoyed the perspectives of the retail employees. Reccomend ââââ
This never happens! Miss Tortitude, Katniss actually jumped into my lap and laid down as I was about to get up and go read in bed. Looks like I'll be reading on the couch until the princess wakes from her nap.ğ Thank goodness for the kindle app on my phone. #catsoflitsy #littenkitten
I needed a Kindle book to read at work and I‘ve owned this for 2 years, so I grabbed it. I thought this was going to be a fun, campy, slightly creepy-maybe, âhorrorâ story. No. This plays out like a horror movie. There‘s a reason I don‘t watch horror movies. I hate being scared. This was terrifying. I‘m never setting foot in an IKEA again. Ever. I will have nightmares tonight. Over 6 hrs for #24b4monday. #screamathon
They said we could decorate our cubes however we wanted for Halloween. Did I use it as an excuse to be surrounded by books while at work? Absolutely.
I didn't really know what to expect with this book, but I kept hearing good things about it. It has a slasher film feel to it, which isn't really my thing, but I did enjoy it for the most part. It's a nice little short book if that's what you're into. It's not super gorey, but there is some. I found it interesting, and I do hope there will be a sequel if there isn't already.
While Horrorstör is set in a fictional competitor to Ikea, this book will probably forever alter my IKEA visits. ?
Straddling the line between parody and horror, it definitely brought back some of my nightmares from the years that I worked retail. And the memory of how creepy a retail store can be at night when the lights turn off and the store is mostly empty.
Fantastic concept, and the unique book design really made this one!
Reading Horrorstör, and #HelloKitty knocked something on to the floor behind me.
I jumped a mile. ?
Yes, I am a scaredy cat, which is why I only read or watch scary things in the daytime! #catsofLitsy
I am loving the illustrations and imagery in this book!
#horror #ChillingPhotoChallenge #Scarathon #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick That feeling you get when you realize that those fabulous flat pack purchses you made at IKEA are missing one, small, vital part!!!!ğ±
Second book from my Halloween TBR list. About halfway through and I'm loving it. Honestly one of my favorite covers because people keep thinking I studying an Ikea catalogue very thoroughly!
This is such a clever read. I am so enjoying it.
Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for the amazing #screamathon package. I loved everything. A box full of spiders was a nice a touch. The tea pot made it safely unbroken. If the tea tastes half as good as it smells I know I will like it. Now the hard part, to decide which to read first! @4thhouseontheleft
@sprainedbrain you spoiled me! I am in love with everything! I didn‘t even know there was a Flayed Billy Funko, he‘s a great addition to my collection! I am excited about ALL of the ğ, and see some #audiocoloring in my future! Thank you so much for the wonderful swap package!
7 covers, 7 days, no explanations.
Day 5: catalog cover paperback of Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix
(Side note: Grady Hendrix books always have AMAZING covers - and interiors - no matter the edition. They make great material objects. Check out various covers on My Best Friend's Exorcism to see. However, I am only picking from books I own.)
@MoniqueReads305 would you like to play?
This is basically what it looks like. A fast read about a haunted IKEA-like furniture store. This was fine for what it was but I was hoping for more. Didn‘t connect or like any of the characters, the reasoning behind the âhauntingâ wasn‘t written in a way that I could completely buy into. I guess that‘s my major issue, clearly you‘re not meant to take this book seriously, but I just couldn‘t suspend my disbelief enough to have fun with it.
Horrorstör review is up! I loved this book ? I am also in the process of getting my shop ready on my blog site. Go check them both out! Right now I have the IT bookmark on sale with free shipping! www.ashsscript.com

Trips to Ikea will never be the same again. Who is staying overnight in the store, damaging the stock? A group of colleagues stay behind to find out, with comically horrific consequences. I loved this book, it is beautifully laid out and a fun bit of light relief.
In this darkly comedic novel we‘re introduced to an IKEA knock-off called Orsk, where our protagonist, Amy, works. We find out some things have been going awry at night at Orsk and a few coworkers and Amy will work the graveyard shift to figure out what‘s going on. I won‘t give away anymore than that except to say that there are some amusing catalogue pictures between chapters. Great book!
Grady Hendrix does such a great job with this story. Horrorstor is set in a fictional department store called Orsk and creepy things happen once the lights turn off and the customers leave.
I am a huge fan of Hendrix and this might be my favorite of his. I loved how at the beginning of each chapter there was a product picture with description, and as the story becomes more intense the products change.
Horror fans should read this one. ğ
This book was a TRIP. I originally wanted to read it because I love ikea and when I sat down to read it this afternoon I thought I‘d read a bit then go do some other things. It‘s now 5 hours later and I‘ve finished it already. I honestly don‘t even know what happened I just literally could not put it down ğ. Good for horror fans, fans of Ikea, and anybody whose experienced the horror of working retail.
Sorry for the late post!! Thank You Cynthia for the Bob Ross pop and the book! I have wanted this book for a while!! The tissue paper is beautiful too!! I'm having a little trouble reading/finding your Litsy handle so I apologize for not tagging you properly! #funkopopandbookswap @kstadt929
