I would definitely be interested in an updated edition of this book. This was written in the 90s and it would be great to hear things about the current digital world. Overall it was a great book about harnessing your fear to help protect you.

Short, dark humor, novel about a woman helping her childhood friend take care of her step children that catch fire when upset. I enjoyed it but it also wasn't one of my favorite reads. I didn't really contect with any of the characters.

Not a light read about Keith Raniere and NXIVM. The control that he had over these women was disgusting. I'm glad he will be behind bars for the rest of his life for destroying all those lives.

I'm still unsure how I feel about this book. I remember reading The Lottery in high school and it was one of those stories that really stuck with you. This one not so much.

A novel that takes place during the great depression about a group of women in Kentucky that work for the Pack Horse Librarians. Wonderful storyline but a little disappointed with how everything was wrapped up perfectly with a bow.

Interesting book but it seems to hop around all over the place. This memoir does make me want to watch The Crown now and learn more about Princess Margaret.

Autobiography of a boy growing up in Baltimore during the late 80s early 90s. His father was a black panther and his older brother had street smarts. Ta-Nehisi is somewhere in the middle.

I loved this book! I very rarely love Adult fiction, I am more of a nonfiction or YA reader, but this novel had me hooked! This is a heavy read dealing with race and family. Highly recommend!

Import part of American History that everyone should learn about. My only complaint is that the writing style simply lacked. The women deserve better.

A sad but excellent middle grade book. This novel follows a 10 year old girl named Della who is in foster care with her older sister Suki. They never knew their father and their mother is in jail for blowing up a hotel while cooking meth. The story also deals with sexual assault and suicide.

LaurenMags @MartinaLove it is definitely a heavy story. The book is just under 300 pages and it took my a little over a week to read. Typically I could read that many pages in a few days. 11mo

A love story about a girl on the autistic spectrum. The time jumps back and forth from when they are in college to 10 years later. This book fell a little flat for me.

bourne.shell Totally agree. I loved the first half of the book, but feel like it's disconnects in the second half. Almost like it was a different story that I just couldn't engage in. 11mo

Wow! Just wow! So much history that I didn't even know. Schools really don't teach us the important history of racism. I also love the way Jason Reynolds writes/speaks. He knows how to speak to children and teens to get them to listen and you can tell that he has a genuine love for them!

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking #graphicnovel. It is about conjoined twins that were sold by their family to a traveling sideshow until a surgeon tries to separate them and causes one of them to die. It goes into grief, how sideshows exploited the differently abled and were blatantly racist, and there is a bit of a love story thrown in there as well. Excellent book!

AkashaVampie @ElizaMarie I'm not sure if this is too heavy for u, but it is a graphic novel. 12mo
ElizaMarie @AkashaVampie Wow just reading Lauren's review! It sounds beautiful but... Id ton think it is for me at all. Way too heavy! 12mo
AkashaVampie @ElizaMarie that's what I thought but wasn't sure 12mo
LaurenMags @ElizaMarie it is a wonderful graphic novel but it is a little heavy. It is a YA book, so it didn't go into as much detail as an adult novel would, but it is still heavy. 12mo

A girl is conned out of $70,000 dollars by a fake socialite. The writing isn't the greatest and it feels like she is repeating herself constantly. What she went through is horrible and it makes for an interesting story but the writing makes it fall flat.
