This has taken me forever to read because I'm still having issues with my eyes. But well worth the effort. Dodos! Ridiculous puns. Books and libraries and plots and all of it.

pickI think I liked this book even better than the first one! My favorite part was when the Cheshire Cat (now Unitary Authority of Warrington Cat) helped Thursday navigate the infinite library. I'm a sucker for Alice in Wonderland allusions & I'm very very excited to read more about the well of lost plots in the next installment.

bailedThis book is a second in a series of seven books. I LOVED the first book, The Eyre Affair, so I had very high hopes of this one. My hopes were dashed though. It started slow and just did not seem to pick up. I feel like I gave it a chance, but it did not live to my expectation. What I read was well-written; it just bored me. 🌟🌟
so-soThis is the second in the Thursday Next series and is equally as quirky, humorous and at times downright wacky. Full of puns, literary references and weirdness, I like these for their lightness and good natured fun. Having said that I also like my light reads to be a bit snappier and I think this was overly long with a few dull moments and a somewhat slow beginning.

It‘s been ages since I read the first in the Thursday Next book and I‘d forgotten how much fun and full of puns these books are. I particularly love the character Braxton Hicks. Plus it‘s light enough to sneak a bit in while supervising home learning with my two primary school aged children.

pickI liked picking up w/Thursday as she deals w/the aftermath of The Eyre Affair. Her wry way of dealing w/fame really amuses me. But I didn't sympathize w/her at all when she loses Landen, b/c I just don't care about him. It was delightful to watch her go off on her own adventures. But as the story continued, it started to lose steam. So yes, I liked it & will continue the series. It just had a lot going on.
October was SUCH a busy month that not as much reading happened as planned. But everything I read was super enjoyable, so bring on November!
I did slightly better this week, but with so much going on, I've been losing my motivation! I get home and I'm just too tired and frustrated to track and exercise. I'm glad I got this much in, at least. Help, Team #GobletofFitness! @wanderinglynn, @bookandcat @Crazyspine @Honeybeegirl

At the most recent Friends of the Library sale, I picked up the entire series, in very good condition hardcover, *except* the first installment! Now I'm on a quest to complete my collection.
This was a lot of fun! Fictional character was the hardest for me.

The villian of the second Thursday Next book is a memory manipulator, though what I recall the execution is pretty different from the scumbag in Violations. I remember it as being good, but it has been awhile (and maybe Aornis has gotten to me!).

pickI liked the first book a lot but wasn‘t compelled to immediately jump into the second, so it had been a while, but I loved this and wish I‘d listened to it sooner. It‘s clever, witty and smart and the audiobook narration is excellent. I‘ll definitely be picking up the third one soon.
Yeah...Drove my car today and will tomorrow as well so the battery gets going but otherwise I‘m staying inside.

I love this series! Book two is just as good as the first. The characters are likeable, the plot is interesting, and the literary references make me laugh out loud. A really enjoyable read.
pickI officially love this series. Book 2 was even better than the 1st. So many unexpected twists and turns. So much bookish content! Now I have to read the next in the series. I think I heard it was only a trilogy though so there may be an end in sight. Edited to add: After looking up the author, there are more than 3 books in the series. And he has other books I now want to read as well. I'm doomed.
