Bailed 😟 I REALLY don't like giving up on a book but it just felt horribly self indulgent and somewhat clinical. Just can't force myself to pick it back up

Jumping into another Peter James thriller. A handsome motivational speaker discovers his identity is being used to scam women who are looking for love online. The first he knew of it was a phone call from one of them, out of the blue, saying "you don't know me, but I thought I knew you".

That woman is now dead.

I didn't feel invested in the characters, not enough background on the main detective to make me warm up him. Ending was trite 😕 Not for me. Even Jerry fell asleep 😉

Despite coming from the wrong side of the pennines 😉 I love Sara Cox, and her radio 2 evening show makes my commute home much more enjoyable. This was a quick and lighthearted read full of her natural humour. Covers her life living on her Dad's farm and above her Mum's pub, her modelling career and sadly; school days blighted by bullying. Not ground breaking but quite enjoyable.

Can't tell you how much I want to be curled up at home reading this book! It's really got me gripped! Instead I'm driving eldest daughter to Newcastle (North of England) for a Uni open day. We live in the North but Newcastle is northerer 😉 Going to take the book along in the hope of a 10 min reprieve. This here's The Angel of the North a towering roadside piece by British sculpter Anthony Gormley. Taken by daughter on our initial uni seeking trip

RadicalReader Always the best time spent curled up with an incredible novel that completely utterly grips you had that moment when reading 4mo

I'm a huge fan of the Joona Limma series, I try to leave big gaps between reading as I know I'm almost at the end of the series. I ordered my copy of the previous one - The Fire Girl - from ebay as I wanted a hardback copy, when it arrived it was signed by the authors! Bonus!

Well it's not for the faint of heart!! I read alot of thrillers including scandi noir which can be grim... But... this is quite brutal and parts made me feel physically sick. Having said that, that's not all there is to it, really enjoyed the story and did not see the twist coming at all. I like Helen Grace and bought because I'd read another of the series without realising it was part of a series. Looking forward to the next.

Gone back to this one now after needing an easier lighter read. First Peter James I've read, I'm around a third of the way through and I have to say I'm gripped! Maybe one or two points have been over simplified? But I guess for the story to move forward that's necessary. That's my only slight criticism though so far

So that's me addicted to Sharon Bolton then! Have bought half her back catalogue and asked Santa for the rest. This is the first Lacey Flint book and I really like the complexity of the character. Didn't realise this was part of a series, stands alone well. For a good chunk of the book I REALLY wasn't sure who was telling the truth - David, who's dead wife turns up in a police station claiming she never died, (husband had a breakdown & imagined it, she says). Or the wife, who's reappearance after 8 years turns David's life, emotions & sanity upside-down. Compelling read which seemed shorter than it's almost 500 page count.

He buried his wife. He mourned his wife. Eight years later she rocks up in a police station claiming she only nipped to the chemist! (in fairness there's a right queue for prescriptions sometimes) he says it's not her and she says he's had a breakdown... . One of them is loco 😵
