When a family of werewolves move in next door, Ox finds himself drawn into their pack.
Overall, I really liked the story but I had some issues with it: age gap - a 10 year old imprinting on a 16 year old and everybody being ok with it is weird, uncomfortable amount of touching, lots of phrases were repeated excessively.
This is Klune‘s older novels. Werewolf imprinting on human to be a mate. To me this felt borderline obsessive and controlling. Yet the love is mutual between the two guys. So, they figured it out. This relationship of through thick and thin was well portrayed. It hurt when one hurt the other, and as they hated what the other did, they still loved each other. It just dragged a lot to me. Totally not expecting the mating ritual.

Like so many others, I discovered TJ Klune in the Cerulean Sea. I preordered his next 2 books bad hadn‘t read any of his backlog until now. For me the angst in the love story between Joe and Oz took up too much of an otherwise really good story. It gives off Twilight vibes and I thought it hilarious the author even acknowledged this within the story. ↓

The idiom “through thick and thin” means that true friendship, love & loyalty can withstand any challenge. It is a phrase that has been used in literature for centuries & it continues to be a popular expression today.
Just finished the 2nd book in the Green Creek series & #ThruThick&Thin is an apt description for the Bennet pack. They are wolves, humans, family & found family & always there for each other.💚
This book has been on my wishlist for a very long time and I was very happy to finally being able to read it. And I loved it at the beginning. A true TJ Klune, including all the Awwws and Ohhs. I didn't even mind the Twilight-ness of the whole thing 😄
But I guess it was a bit too much for me. I usually don't read romance novels (TJ Klune is BIG exception) and as Joe grew older it somehow lost it's magic for me. Too much of the drama for my taste.
A little more used book browsing at Bagatelle Books in West Asheville NC and I found these two. 🙂📚
I think this has to be, hands down, my favorite bookish pre-order incentive! How cute is this keychain?! 🥹🐾🐺

Was it longer than it needed to be? Yes. Is it Kline‘s best? No, but it is his earlier work published in 2015/2016. Still, I really enjoyed the story in this werewolf romance. Klune has the ability to write endearing characters who make me smile & laugh when his isn‘t making me cry. I liked Ox & Joe (yes, the age gap is a bit 🤔🫣 at first but think imprinting ala Twilight), the whole Bennet pack & ⬇️
3.5/5
This chronicles Ox's journey to becoming part of the Bennett pack over 11 years. It starts slow, when Ox is a teenager and Joe is a child. The book makes fun of itself referencing twilight and imprinting, but I found it a little weird that the connection between Ox and Joe, even if it wasn't romantic yet, started so young. Once I got to about the 40% point of the book, everything really picked up and it was an enjoyable paranormal story.
Should you read Wolfsong by T.J. Klune? 🤔 The short answer is a resounding YES! 🐺💙 But I did also make a book recommendation video about it, if you're not totally convinced! 😂 Give it a watch if you have the time!

How many copies of Wolfsong do I need? 🤔 This many, apparently! 🙈 I can't help it! I love it so much! From left to right we have: special Waterstones edition (signed and has spray painted edges), regular Waterstones edition, B&N special edition, and original paperback edition. If they keep releasing more editions I'm afraid my wallet may revolt! 😱📚
So this was originally published in 2016 and this author has seriously grown with their craft as a writer. This one was wordy and seriously 100+ pages too long. As a result this one plodded along instead of flying by like his recent stories. Solid 🌟🌟🌟 read #ARC
Thanks to Tor Books and NetGalley for this copy. I am surprised that this was actually a reprint, first published on 20/6/2016. It was enjoyable but it was too lengthy (400+ pages!!!) for my liking. Also got my thinking of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight. I find the plot reveal too slow and dragging. If you are into para-normal romance, this series would be up your alley. FYI this series is infused with LGBT elements and not for the faint hearted. 3/5
I‘m never sure how I feel about Klune. There‘s a part of me that finds his books over the top…and then, every now and then, he‘ll do something like describe somebody who was gravely injured asking “is this a dream” and I remember waking up in the ambulance asking the same thing. So points for making me surprise cry, Klune.
4.5/5⭐ I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book progressed with a slow-burn, lyrical intensity that sank its claws into me, pulled me in, and still hasn't released me.
It's not a book you describe; it's one you experience.

This book was devastating in a great way. Need to get to the rest of the series this year
@Andrew65
Have to admit I was a Twilight fan- read all the books - saw all the movies- etc. So I‘m a sucker for the fated mates trope. And this is all about that : the author even takes a couple of swipes at glittery vampires. Ox is a steady sure presence he reminds me of Odd Thomas. He‘s going to discover that werewolves are real and pack is everything 💚🐉
Very excited about my #AuldLangSpine list from @peanutnine - I haven‘t read any of these! Some have definitely been on my radar (especially 6, 8, and 18), while there are some new titles, too. Love how much LGBTQIA+ rep there is! What I read first will likely depend on what I can get through my library. Thanks @monalyisha for running this awesome event!
Ok, so I'm gonna go ahead and blame #pop23 for this one!
Demon Copperhead - a modern retelling AND Oprah's current pick
True Biz - features 2 languages AND a Reese Witherspoon pick
Wolfsong - LOOK. AT. THOSE. EDGES. What can I say? I am weak.
And the synopses for Peaces and Diary of a Void piqued my curiosity!!

Happy Friday, littens! 💕📚💕 We made it through another week! I hope everyone has some great bookish plans for their weekend!
I know this is like my 100th post about this book, but I just can't help myself! 😂 I love this series so much and I'm absolutely obsessed with the new edition! 🐾🐺🐾
AHHHHH MY SPECIAL EDITION OF WOLFSONG ARRIVED TODAY! 😱💕📚 (Yes, I got two different copies of the new edition because I needed them obviously! 🤪) It's even more gorgeous than the first one, with its beautiful painted edges! 🐾🐺🐾
IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! 🎉🎉🎉 It has finally arrived and I'm NOT going to lie, I definitely cried when I opened the package and first looked at it! Isn't it glorious?!? And this isn't even the signed copy! (I'm still waiting on that one to arrive! 😅) The new cover artwork is even better in person than I imagined! If you are a fan of this series or even just T.J. Klune in general I highly recommend getting this!
packpackpack 🐾🐺💕
The other of todays #bookmail is this absolutely stunning edition of TJ Klune‘s novel. The 1st in the Green Creek series, I‘m sure it will be as amazing & whimsical & queer as his other novels🙌Those stained edges are spectacular, the bottom edge is the lime green & the top is the teal. It‘s a hard story to describe, there‘s a teen named Ox, a little boy who only talks to Ox,there‘s a murder, revenge & a homecoming. Looking forward to it immensely.
Just in time for #FirstLineFridays, a new ARC

OMG! 😍😍😍 T.J. Klune just showed Wolfsong that will be released by Tor next week! It‘s gorgeous
Oh super… I‘ve fallen into another angsty, sexy, dramatic series of super long books. 😳
I loved this. I completely understand the issues that some reviewers have had with this book, but I was captivated start to finish and I‘m in love with all of these characters. Klune‘s writing alternates between lovely and brutal so seamlessly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
I want to love this. I really do. But at 20% (100 pages) I just don‘t. I keep hoping it will get better. I‘ve been hoping for 50 pages and it‘s not happening. I am (somewhat) invested in these characters. But this is like Werewolf Twilight with the inappropriate tethers and the angst and I just want to scream because I‘m so disappointed. 😭😭 #itsnotme #itsyou
I've been trying to find the words for this review but just can't sum up my feelings. I fell in love with these characters. The world of werewolves was mythical and magical yet realistic. The story was at times sweet, heartbreaking, and intensely thrilling. Ox was adorably oblivious yet also perceptive and supportive. The love of the Bennett family and their acceptance of him was heartwarming. Looking forward to continuing this story 💖
Absolutely no competition for this month's best book! Review to come, but I'm so glad I finally picked up Wolfsong. Definitely a top contender for favorite book of the year.
@TheIntrovertedDodoBird you were not wrong, this book left me buzzing 😍

Pride Month: Day Nineteen! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
In honor of the recent cover reveal for the new printing of Wolfsong, I decided to showcase this brilliant series today. It's just so wonderful. Honestly one of my favorite series ever. 🐺💕 Heartwarming, sweet, and all about the strength of found family! If you want these editions and don't have them yet, you may want to get them soon as they won't be available for much longer! 📚

If you are, like me, a HUGE fan of T.J. Klune and his Green Creek series you will be SUPER EXCITED to hear that Tor UK is releasing this series IN BEAUTIFUL NEW HARDCOVER EDITIONS WITH NEW COVER ART OMG! 🐺💕📚 The first book is available for preorder now at Waterstones and will be released September 1st! I am literally crying with excitement right now I SM SO SO HAPPY! 🥰
I read 43 books last month in May and had so many good reads but some huge standouts were as follows:
Not Your Sidekick
Wolfsong
Peter Darling
The Hourglass Throne
Phoenix Extravagant
the Book of Night
Delilah Green Doesn‘t Care
Darius the Great Deserves Better
Graphic novels/Manga
The All Nighter
Komi Can‘t Communicate v 1
The Elle‘s
What a great month of reading so many books made an impact on me!
"It was candy canes and pinecones. It was epic and awesome. And it was home"
~ Wolfsong by TJ Klune.
My all time favourite scene.
A tale of finding a place where you belong, even when you don't necessarily fit in. You‘ll find your people. Trust Klune on this (I do). Everyone will find their own special version of "home". Ox just happened to be a little luckier than most of us... finding his home in the warm embrace of pack, pack, pack ♡.
My all time favourite book series howled me home for a reread!
I'll quote a little tornado when I say Wolfsong is "epic & awesome".
Picking up this book once again was like slipping into my favourite cozy jumper after a long tiring day, taking me on a familiar adventure with my favourite people (pack, pack, pack). It felt like green relief & I drank this book up heartily. Even when it's not in my hands, I'm running with my wolves in spirit. Love!
No question Wolfsong was my FAVORITE book this month. But.....I can't choose between wolfsong & prince's gambit. They're both so good! In COMPLETELY different ways. 😬
Y‘all I‘m wrecked. And I‘m only at 38% finished. Wrecked!!! Why did I wait so long to read this??!! I am so glad there are two more but ahhhh. This book! I‘m all in my feelings and I don‘t know if I can sleep! I‘m going to have to stay up and finish it aren‘t I?! Just. It is so good. And the audio is Kirt Graves, again. Just how? 😬🔥😬🔥😬🔥😱😱😱
I don't know how I feel about this book because, to me, it reads like a reskinned fanfiction circa 2013
There were problematic tropes including destined mates meeting as kids, the main characters do no wrong and everyone listens to them, fridging one of the two women, starting the romance when one partner is underage, and more!
It didn't work for me and I gave up halfway through
