This is my team , they are basically out of the running . I did really enjoy this collection of essays on the storied history of the Giants, their best players & world series wins! I love the style of this book , it‘s almost like you are sitting having a coffee with Alex as he tells these stories. He doesn‘t forget to mention the weirdness & cold of Candlestick Park ,the great announcers & clubhouse legend Mike Murphy!

#CharacterCharm #Artist Have always been fascinated by her paintings. Often, her portraits are shocking, stark .She struggled a lot to continue making art . There was a great documentary years ago , 2007 made by one of her sons.

What a joy this book was !With Californias Mediterranean climate most things will grow there.An overview of the history of private & public gardens all over the golden state . I was surprised how many from the earliest days were designed by women.Some are historical, some reflect all the cultural influences over time.Spanish colonial, indigenous, Japanese tea Gardens , and those that were influenced by traditional gardens from back east or the UK

Don‘t call them prolife ,call them probirth & anti-woman.This book charts the aftermath of dismantling Roe .The fact that often abortion is really just health care ,oftentimes the health of the mother & a fetus that is determined to not be viable are the reasons, yet some of these laws in some states would criminalize healthcare workers for actually doing their jobs.The personal stories in this volume should make it clear this system isn‘t right.

Library book found ! Checked it out for the #whartonbuddyread of the Bunner sisters ,got mixed into a stack that I didn‘t get to the bottom of where it shouldn‘t have been anyway as I like to keep Library books separate for just this reason! 😂📚📚🙄

I think maybe why people don‘t like this one as much as The Last Thing He Told Me is a difference in pace, as Last Thing is more of a thriller. This one is more of a mystery, slower paced , with essentially distant half siblings trying to figure out if their father fell to his death or was pushed . Old family secrets, and the authors great details of coastal CA. NYC, and upstate NY made for an enjoyable read . I didn‘t guess the twist!

I was over at Book Gallery and grabbed these pretty Colette editions to go with several I already have . Book gallery has first editions, signed books , also a great selection of general used titles affordable to all readers !

Wow, this was fun! A nice break from the bleak non fiction I‘m reading! Charlie‘s life is kind of a mess , then he inherits a Super Villain business from his estranged Uncle . With typing spy cats and talking dolphins plotting to go on strike, Charlie is being surprised at every turn .How can he possibly outwit his enemies even with help in this totally new to him game? My first Scalzi , won‘t be my last , fun and sarcastic! 😂👏

#SeriesLove2025 Detective Stilwell had a run in with LA county sheriff‘s department politics & is exiled to Catalina island. mostly doing nuisance policing till a dead body is found weighted down in the harbor. 1st bk , new series.As Connelly does , the place becomes part of the story. I want to see where it goes. People that live on the Island keep a car in Long Beach , for appts.& supply runs.already mentioned legendary 1920s LB bar, Joe Josts!
