A slim book but I read it slowly over days trying to fully appreciate his thoughts.
It also made me restart my meditation / breathwork practice. Hoping that it sticks. 🙏

Okay, I‘m an introvert & get anxiety in unknown social settings but I keep hearing about silent book clubs so I‘m giving it a try tonight, inspiring today‘s haiku.
Beyond comfort‘s edge
Butterflies begin to stir
Silent book club night

A day late but here it is! #JulyJazz #forgiveness
It took me a while to get through this book because I found the author's tone pompous and unrelatable. Although I had some good takeaway moments from the book overall it was hard to chew.

Enlighten Me, by Minh Lê (illustrated by Chan Chau) (2023)
Premise: A graphic novel for children introducing some basic tenets and stories of Buddhism.
Review: This was surprisingly fun, sort of a like a kids‘ introduction to Buddhism crossed with the 8-bit adventure of Scott Pilgrim. I do wish however there was more story. Cont.

Fascinating and mind-expanding evaluation of Buddhism from a scientific standpoint. Highly recommended.

Sarah!!! Just received your wonderful letter and package this week. OMG, I‘m speechless!!! 🤩🤩🤩😭😭😭😘😘😘 How you ever found time to make us this beautiful blanket with all that‘s on your plate. It‘s already keeping me cozy, warm and relaxed during reading time. (And as you can see, Frost thinks it‘s for him!)
We will treasure it always…and you! 🥰🥰🥰

1. Stressed, more stressed, & tired
2. Music, audiobooks, rereading faves, cutting out nearly all social media
3. Nutrition & its effect on mental health, thinking errors, music/art, relaxation techniques

Unfortunately I didn't get to finish The Wedding People before it was due back at the library. I think I'll try this one next. It's been on my TBR forever, and I'm trying to get back into meditation and mindfulness. Thich Nhat Hanh should be a good guide.

Book isn‘t yet in our system: The Rain People by Jin Bo, Yi Yusun (illustrator)
“As a boy sits alone watching spring's first rainfall, he sees that the drops are turning into tiny people, who invite him to join them.”
Lovely book! I‘m not an art expert but I think the art is watercolor. The short of it is the boy joins the Rain People to enter the River of Sorrow and when they do life is restored to the land. This could be from Chinese folklore.
