Librarybelle Good morning! It looks like it rained here too, @Bookwormjillk , though not as much. But, I think more rain and lower temps are in the forecast this weekend. I‘m baking my Andes mint cookies today for my dad for Father‘s Day. And hopefully getting rid of this headache (my head knows the forecast is correct)! Wishing everyone going to a No Kings protest a successful time—I‘m there in spirit! ❤️ (edited) 9h

ElizaMarie I finished one of my papers (case study) for my NP course - ugh! And now finishing my coffee. I might be going to the protest later, depending on my husband's ability to walk. He had injured his leg running, and might not be up for a long walk/stand. Playing it by ear.

peanutnine Thanks for the tag and good morning! @Bookwormjillk @Librarybelle we also got a bunch of rain last night and it's cooling down this weekend. My husband and I are taking my father-in-law to see the Indiana Jones movie in theaters today. The protest in our town is later this afternoon, we'll see if we get back in time. 7h

TieDyeDude Good morning! Just getting the day started here in AK. We have someone coming in about a half hour to rototill and reseed our lawn. It was really ugly when we moved in (very uneven, holes their dog dug), but the landlord doesn't pay for lawn care. It's @WildAlaskaBibliophile birthday tomorrow; since we just got back from vacation, we are just planning a brunch and reading time. Everyone stay safe if you're going out today #NoKings 🇺🇲🦅 3h

dabbe Thanks for the tag. 😘 I am beyond bummed. I woke up with a hellacious cold and feel like crap. I don't want to spread germs around people, so I'm staying home from the protest. 🤒 Matt put upside-down flags on our front strip to show where our feelings lie. And it's going to be 112ºF today. 🥵 How do you get a f*&C*ing cold in this weather? Sorry to be such a whiner today. Hope everyone makes it a good one; I'll try, too. 😅 3h

LitStephanie OMG. Sorry, I am a spazz today. . . the general arc is progress. Most recently got comfort that way by listening to Marc Morris's King John. Sometimes I just want something happy and not remotely challenging and opt for romance. My most recent stress reduction medicine romance read was The Arrangement by Mary Balogh. Blind guy and skinny lady who isn't very pretty find true love. How can that not make you feel good, LOL? 23h

AllDebooks @LitStephanie thanks for the recommendations. I think Fingersmith is more of a comfort to me as I know it well. Sometimes deriving comfort from a familiar plot/characters is very therapeutic, be that tv shows, movies, or books. 23h

The Summer Book | Tove Jansson, Thomas Teal, Kathryn Davis

Halfway through this book for #MidsummerSolace and it's perfectly lovely. I'm really enjoying the easy pace, and each vignette is building a stronger picture of Grandmother and Sophia and their summer together full of simple pleasures. It's starting to veer toward melancholy but I actually love that; the mood is keeping me hooked. Who else is reading this one right now? #BooksAndBlooms

IriDas I‘m 1/3 through. It‘s a pleasant read. I agree with your assessment of the character development. Looking forward to the rest. 3d
