Mehso-so

Bk7 of #JumpStart2023 & Bk3 of #JoyousJanuary #readathon is done! I finished this one on Thursday night but been haven‘t been on till now. Listened to this while #audiojournaling it wasn‘t a bad insight into Chris Watts personality, but the narrator was awful, which is why it‘s a so-so. At least I got some challenges in my bujo. #BookspinBingo #NonFictionBingo

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Love your bujo spreads!! 2mo

Some more Storygraph stats and my #NonfictionBingo board. Almost a blackout. I have Litsy to thank for expanding my nonfiction reading and for my favorite stat of all…102 new authors!

Thanks, Melissa, for championing nonfiction!

#Two4Tuesday

1. Good! I finished the PopSugar Challenge recently and I‘m on track with my Goodreads goal. I‘m still working on my #NonfictionBingo card for 2022.

2. Yes, especially now that I‘ve finished the PopSugar prompts. This is always a goal.

TheSpineView Good luck! Thanks for playing! 9mo

Tarana Burke was the original founder of the #metoo movement. She has worked tirelessly with young black and brown girls that have been victims of sexual assault. Burke is a survivor of sexual assault herself & she has worked to help others through their experiences as she worked through her own trauma. I enjoyed learning about her work in social justice & community activism. #bookspin book #nonfictionbingo: I‘m a Survivor

Bk2 for June is done! If my readings not quite back to what it was, at least there‘s light at the end of the tunnel now thank godπŸ‘I enjoyed this memoir more than I thought I would, bring back so many memories of what the 80s were like for a teenager. Though for an actor that looked so cool onscreen, he was a total mess off it. Highly recommend. #BookspinBingo #BigJuneReadathon #NonFictionBingo #ImASurvivor #Pop21 #Booked2022 #ByAJournalist

Cinfhen I thought this was ok as far as celebrity memoirs go but I agree, the 80‘s nostalgia was fab πŸŽ‰πŸ€©have you listened to this one SO GOOD !!!! 10mo
Lizpixie @Cinfhen I‘ll have to use my next audible credit on that, I love Rob Lowe! #BratPack4Eva 10mo

Hello friends!

Looking back on 2021 I‘ve had a hard time motivating myself to read this year. Partly pandemic related, partly being busy, partly just some meh feelings overall. But I‘ve found I‘ve felt most motivated and got the most reading done when I‘m taking part in challenges so I‘d love to do more next year! I‘m already hyped for #booked2021 and I‘d love to learn about any other year long challenges that are running!

DGRachel @BarbaraBB and @Librarybelle are hosting #readingafrica2022. I‘m almost done with #readingasia2021 and it has been so great that I‘m totally doing Africa next year. 1y
Soubhiville I‘ll be joining on reading Africa and always #AuthorAMonth. 1y
sebrittainclark #LitsyAtoZ and #BookspinBingo are my favorite litsy challenges 1y

ChaoticMissAdventures This year I did #BookspinBingo and found it to be lots of fun! 1y
TEArificbooks #foodandlit is a favorite of mine 1y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft and I just launched our #Booked2022 prompts the other day 1y
DrexEdit #BookSpin and the related spins are what got me out of a pandemic reading slump. 1y
Kenyazero I'm planning on making another year-long LGBTQ+ book bingo, and I've also been having SO much fun doing reading challenges on Storygraph. 1y
Catsandbooks @Butterfinger @Texreader and I are doing another year of #FoodandLit The countries for 2022 will be posted soon! 1y
Singout Love @Riveted_Reader_Melissa β€˜s annual nonfiction Bingo challenge, and trying #NewYearWhoDis this year. 1y
Butterfinger These are my challenges - #MGBuddyRead (middle grade books), #YABuddyRead (young adults) both with @megnews , #OverbookedClub with Megan and @sblbooks #ReadingAfrica2022 , #AuthorAMonth, #FoodandLit of course 😘 PopSugar, ReadHarder #Booked2022, #ChildrensClassicChallenge with @TheBookHippie #BBRC with @LibrarianRyan #EpicNewberyChallenge I know it is a lot, but my favorite thing about challenges is when you research and the book fits multiple prompts. Best feeling. 1y
bthegood I have joined in on a couple of the book clubs - which motivates me to finish by a β€œdueβ€œ date - Classic Books is #ThatsClassic hosted by @Annie1215 Agatha Christie book club is #AgathaChristieClubR2 hosted by @ferskner and Stephen King book club #LosersClub hosted by @mynameisacolour - there are more book clubs (these are just the ones I've participated in) - 😊 1y
sblbooks #Overbookedclub is a monthly buddy read. We mostly read historical fiction with some others mixed in. You're more than welcome to join us any time. They're going to have #NewYearwhoDis again. Where you swap reading list with a partner. Run by @monalyisha 1y
TheBookHippie I do #childrensclassicread then add the year so watch for #childrensclassicread2022 and I also do #SUNDAYBUDDYREAD β™₯️ 1y
Liz_M @Butterfinger What is BBRC? There are too many posts to scroll back to find the original 😊 1y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I will post a new #nonfiction2022 reading bingo card very soon. And I read with #SheSaid every month, which are all books written by women and mostly nonfiction, with a few fiction thrown in once in awhile. I also read with #StarWarsBuddyRead which is reading the new cannon Star Wars books, and with #PratchettPosse which is reading Terry Pratchett‘s books in publication order, and #ShakespeareReadAlong which is working it‘s way through the plays 1y
Butterfinger @Liz_M Babies and Beyond Reading Challenge. You read picture books (titles start A to Z), leveled readers, middle grade prompts, young adult prompts, adult prompts, and prompts for a mixture of all ages. It runs from July to June. @LibrarianRyan is the organizer. 1y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'll be doing #booked2022 #foodandlit some #authoramonth #sundaybuddyread #thatsclassic and I'm looking forward to two others that aren't rooted in Litsy but have some participants here, The 52 Book Club & Pop Sugar Reading Challenge, whose prompts haven't been announced yet. 1y
Butterfinger @Liz_M πŸ‘† 1y
Singout #nonfiction2022 that @Riveted_Reader_Melissa organizes is excellent! 1y

Bk8 of August & Bk5 of #AwesomeAugust #readathon is done! Read as an audiobook on Scribd, I finished it today whilst sewing in the ends for my new scarf. I‘m very happy with it, but I‘m not sure if I should make tassels for the ends or leave them alone? The book was horrifying, tragic & very informative. Told from the POV of a few residents of the city, it describes a hellscape I‘m not sure I‘d want to live through.War is hell. #NonFictionBingoπŸ‘‡

Lauredhel Nice! I‘m not a tassel person, but you do you :) 2y
julesG Yeah! You could add pompoms. But I'd probably leave it as it is. #knittersofLitsy 2y

Andrew65 I think I‘d leave it as it is too. Stunning time. (edited) 2y
Librarybelle Love the scarf as is, but if you would like to add tassels, I‘d say go for it! 2y
TheAromaofBooks Love your scarf. I'm personally all about tassels πŸ˜‚ 2y
Lizpixie @Lauredhel @julesG @Andrew65 @Librarybelle @TheAromaofBooks thank you for the suggestions! I think I‘m leaving it as is, it‘s too chunky to add tassels to. My next scarf is a patterned one that will suit tassels more I think, then I might do a beanie with a pompom if I can master pattern workπŸ‘πŸ§ΆπŸ§£ 2y
kaysworld1 I love that scarf 😍 2y

Bk10 of March is done! I think I‘ll be adding this to my #TopFiveTrueCrime of all time @Cathythoughts It was well researched, it was personal & it focused at least half of the book on the victims instead of the shooters. It depresses me that 22yrs later, no lessons have been learnt by the government after seeing the latest mass shooting in Colorado.😒 #NonFictionBingo #PickYourPoison #ChunksterChallenge #NerdReading2021 #52BookClubChallenge

Cathythoughts Thanks for thinking of me Liz ... I‘ll look into this one πŸ‘πŸ» 2y
