This book is killing me... Ive been struggling to read it a week now, but people keep saying "IT GETS AMAZING!!!!!" so I havent wanted to give up. Sooo..... I'll let you know if it ever gets "amazing"

#HateItButItsRecommended #NeverAgain #Mistake

RainyDayReading I hope it gets amazing for you! Nothing worse than struggling through a book you've been told is worth it only for it to be a flop. 3w

Parkland | Dave Cullen

I said I was going to do my #LibFaves19 list here on Litsy too but I‘m a few days behind. Day 2 was my #9 pick published in 2019. Parkland by Dave Cullen. #librariansoflitsy

MyNamesParadise I absolutely loved Columbine by Dave Cullen; I‘ll have to give Parkland a try! 1mo
MelissaSue81 @MyNamesParadise - They are actually VERY different books, but both good in their own way. I preferred Parkland. It is more about the students who started the #NeverAgain March for Our Lives Movement than the shooting itself (though they do describe that day as well). Columbine was dark, this was inspiring.

MyNamesParadise @MelissaSue81 thank you for the heads up! At the time I read Columbine I was more into darker subject matter. Now it wouldn‘t hurt to have some inspiration! 1mo

What She Lost | Melissa W. Hunter

This is a fictonalized account of the true story of the author's grandmother and her time spent in the concentration camps and her time after. I started just yesterday and am 82% finished.

Cinfhen Thanks for tagging me #stacked l just signed up for a Jewish Roots trip to Poland. My grandfather was born there and though he and all 9 of his siblings and parents got out between 1934-1937 all of his first cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents died in the Holocaust. I‘ll be visiting Poland and all the sites in February. I‘m going with my daughter. I‘m mentally preparing myself 💔 2mo
Insightsintobooks @Cinfhen oh, I'm so sorry 💔💔. I'm sure the trip will be hard. Glad your father and his siblings and your grandparents were able to get out. 2mo
Cinfhen It‘s my grandfather who fled Poland , so I got to know my great grandparents and all of my great aunts and uncles. In this sense, I‘m lucky. It‘s going to be a very emotionally draining trip, but it‘s something I‘ve always talked about doing. We will be joined on the trip with a survivor who will be our guide along with another guide from Yad Vashem, Israel‘s Holocaust Museum😢😭 2mo

Insightsintobooks @Cinfhen oh wow. I don't know for sure, but I've always had a feeling I had Jewish ancestry. No one on my mother's side ever talked about their past and now there's no one to ask. So I was doing family history research and found a lot of Jewish last names... this eventually led me to Yad Vashem and I looked up a few names that I know and there were so many... like I said I'm not positive still looking into it. You are very lucky. 2mo
Insightsintobooks @Cinfhen sorry you mentioned Yad Vashem and that kinda brought me back to all those names. I'm sure the trip will be draining, but it will be informative to have a guide who is a survivor and one from Yad Vashem as well. 2mo
Cinfhen It‘s vey chilling to make that discovery @Insightsintobooks good luck with your search 💚 2mo
Insightsintobooks @Cinfhen I agree, thank you. ❤ All I know for sure is when I converted It felt like I was coming home. (I know many converts feel this way, but i don't know its hard to explain). 2mo
Cinfhen Converting to Judaism is not easy at all. I admire your dedication and strength 💜 2mo
Insightsintobooks @Cinfhen Thank you. I couldn't imagine my life without Judaism. It's like air. 2mo

Andrew65 This book shouldn‘t even be needed 😢 but at the same time a must read. (edited) 2mo
Insightsintobooks @Andrew65 I agree completely. 2mo
Texreader So sad this is needed. Thanks for the heads up about it. I just “bought” it for free. 2mo

Insightsintobooks @Texreader you're welcome. 2mo
TrishB Just got it too. I had a few moments of horror reading some of the reviews. If you ever thought the book wasn‘t needed, read some of the reviews. (edited) 2mo
Insightsintobooks @TrishB oh no. I know it's needed. I've experienced deniers personally. It's horrible. 2mo

It's on sale. I was a bit upset because I don't have the 3.99 for it (Tight budget this year, not much expendable income.... and I don't get paid until tomorrow), but lucky me I'd already gotten it. I knew it sounded familiar!!! 😃😅
