I thought overall it's cute. Being originally from the Lower Rio Grande Valley I grew up with countless stories about the dangers of “her“ (don't want to spoil). Also, found a quote that I am in very much agreement with! Wax figures are terrifying!

A really good supernatural cozy. Lily moves to San Francisco to open a vintage shop and have a normal life. But of course that doesn't work out and she ends up with a surprise familiar, Oscar, and in the middle of a murder investigation 🐷

This has been on my TBR forever and did not disappoint! I really enjoyed the fresh take on witchcraft and liked most of the cast of characters. I‘ll definitely be reading or listening to more! The story did feel a little long or drawn out in places but overall quite enjoyable! It‘s not often I stay up late to finish a book :)
Absolutely love this quote! I‘m going to whip it out the next time someone tells me I‘m too cynical :)
I‘ve finished a lot of audiobooks this week. This one was okay. Lily is a witch who has moved to SF and started a business. Originally from TX, she was prosecuted for being a witch and ran. She now owns a vintage clothing shop. A little girl gets captured and Lily teams up to find her.

I actually do try to avoid reading too many cozy mysteries at once … i.e., anything more than 1! But it seems that‘s all I‘m in the mood for right now… 🤷🏽♀️
The tagged, I‘m reading on audio…
#cozymystery #hopeIdontgettheplotstooconfused !
A vintage store-owning witch solves a murder and a disappearance. I appreciated the non-cutesy witchcraft in this one: There was brewing, incantations, and talismans. Spooky plus voodoo plus supernatural crime solving.
Ive had these forever and theyve been on my TBR since then. I was trying to organize my books and came across my stacks of cozies! I need to get better at reading through a series!
I was tagged by @Chrissyreadit to do this fun little activity to help my match for the #CozySwap get to know me! I‘m pretty simple... I love all things fall and cozy. Pumpkin all the things 😍 I‘m comfiest reading in my bed with a fluffy blanket and hot mug of tea or coffee (usually the latter, though). My favorite cozies I‘ve read so far have been the tagged series. I also really enjoyed the first book in each ⬇️
The narrator's voice was a bit too porn for me. And a bit too dark magic. Oddly. Oh well.

1. I‘ll start with one of my absolute favorite series - The Witchcraft Mystery Series by Juliet Blackwell. I‘m on book 10 (which I won from @wanderinglynn so thank you for that!). I love to listen to them as Xe Sands is a great narrator. Thanks for the tag Andrew!
I‘ll tag @ElizaMarie @SumisBooks @AkashaVampie @Jaclyn and anyone else who wants to join in.
1. My boy Church, being a goofball
2. Lily Ivory from The Witchcraft Mystery series
3. What Lies Between Us-John

Thanks for the tag @Maria514626 🖤

1. Romance genre is not really my thing.
2. Stay in.
3. Both please! (Frankly I haven‘t gotten either in many years.)
4. Right now I‘d say Lily Ivory and Sailer from the tagged series (once Sailer got his head out of his ass).
Thanks to @GypsyKat I crushed out all ten books in this series. Super fun and entertaining on audio. Highly recommend if you enjoy a good witchy cozy.
-Tagged the first in the series
This was an easy read with an interesting plot. I love cozy mysteries with magical elements and this book gave me witch craft and folk lore while crafting a fun mystery with just enough twists to keep me guessing.
Really like this series. Don‘t know why I hadn‘t found this series sooner. But better late than never.
My brain had a hissy fit this week, so instead of pushing myself at work, I did what needed to be done and then hid with my Kindle. The benefits of working from home...?
As a result, I need to up my book goal for #BFCr4 because I‘ve read all six books that were my original goal. 🤣 My goal now is 16 books — two per week, plus the six I got done in the first week.
(I didn‘t continue the series b/c my library doesn‘t have #6 available right now!)
Well this was super freaking cute! All kinds of good witchy fun! I‘m so glad I took a chance on this series. Now I can‘t wait to start the next one!
Starting this audiobook today. 🖤
Is 59 too old to swing while listening to a book? It was a cool, cloudy day and the park was empty so I had some fun. I resisted the urge to go down the slide - didn't want to chance breaking anything.
I'm enjoying the book and love Xe Sands' narration. It's just the right amount of spooky for me.
I‘m shopping for the #cozyswap tonight. To anyone who may be stalking me... pictured are a few mystery books I‘d love to receive.
Question for anyone who may live in a southern state (TN, GA, SC, NC, AL): with the warmer weather there, do you still often use cozy blankets and scarves? Being from North Dakota, I have no reference for warmer climates and don‘t want to send something that won‘t be useful but found a great idea for the theme 🤷♀️❄️
Just started a witchy mystery with a bewitched pig (do familiars count as bewitched?), found a field of sunflowers and the baby fell right to sleep.
My day is shaping up nicely! 🌻🐽😴
#betwitched #witchyreads #screamathon
Correction: It turns out the pig familiar is really a shapeshifting gargoyle, but I‘m sure something in this book will qualify as bewitched!
Update: And she just alluded to Samantha! ✨
I‘ve been listening to a lot of cozies lately. This is a new to me series with a little magic and a little mystery. Main character Lily is relatable, but the highlight is Oscar, the snarky gargoyle/potbellied pig that serves as Lily‘s familiar. I enjoyed the paranormal aspects of this book and plan to read further.
That was loads of fun! Really enjoyed the plot, the characters and the story telling.
Love Oscar ❤🐷🐉
The one minus was how self deprecating the MC was with use of words such as 'freak' to refer to herself, but that completely changes by the end of the book 😊
5🌟
What magic is this?? 2 baths in one week?? 😱 I'm certainly not complaining. Half way through this cosy mystery and loving it!
4/5 🐙🐙🐙🐙
This was my audio read. I enjoyed the characters and the narrator did a fantastic job on catching the voice for each of them. The story was a little predictable but that‘s what I enjoy in a cozy mystery. Over all I‘m very happy with book and will continue the series! I‘m excited to see how the magic evolves.
Still love it also just realized how to add stickers xD
I put it off to let the story sink in & then totally forgot to review this!! I LOVED this book. Definitely a cozy mystery at its finest. Lily Ivory is an extremely powerful witch running from her past who finds a safe haven in San Francisco running a secondhand shop that primarily deals with women's vintage fashion. Unfortunately, Lily can run but can't hide from who she truly is. When tragedy befalls two acquaintances - one being a little girl ⬇
1) Virginia, in the US
2) Basically YA
3) Secondhand Spirits, Life After Death, listening to Illuminae but will probably quit... too much going on 😑
4) I don't have a particular favorite. Depends on my mood
5) My parents have two dogs & a cat. Does my daughter count?
6) Who else is super excited about all the swaps???? 😊😊😊

First read of 2018! Starting with a cozy mystery like last year. The theme was kind of serious, it was a bit less cozy than my usual hot chocolate snuggle up in bed reads, but I still liked it. Had to finish fast because I had to know what happened. Thank you again for the great gifts @squirrelbrain 😄😄
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was not really expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did! The blurb was interesting enough to get me to spend a credit, but I honestly expected to dislike it! Quite the contrary though, I really enjoyed this book, am glad it is the first in a series and look forward to reading the next in line!
This is a #blamelitsy purchase thanks to @Tiffy_Reads 😄🔮👻 ordered before we got our #secretsantagoespostal matches so before my book ban 😉 looking forward to my very first cosy mystery!
It‘s perfect that I finished this book on Halloween. 😊Looking forward to the second book in this supernatural cozy mystery series. I loved Oscar the goblin/pot-belly pig familiar. The story was interesting too.
Nope. Just couldn't keep reading. On to the next one.
A third of the way through this book and I am really struggling with the main character. She keeps claiming she doesn't want anyone to know she's a witch but every five minutes she's lecturing someone on witchcraft or paranormal entities.
Doing some #audiostitching while listening to this book. Could have used some secondhand spirits overnight when I had lost a needle undoing the petal I'm currently working once I realised I made a mistake at the beginning. I like the narrator's voice, but I'm not fond of the way she does the protagonist's voice when she's conversing with some of the other characters. I have some issues with the MC's interpretation of 'ethical' of magic.
Lily Ivory is a witch with a flair for vintage fashion and spooky situations. This was a fun, quick read that reminded me of the Aurora Teagarden and Harper Connelly mysteries by #CharlaineHarris. Looking forward to the second in the series. #WitchcraftMystery #mystery #paranormal
