I loved getting a look into all these perspectives! Any chance to jump into this world is the best; I missed these characters so much! The audiobook narrators were a little weird at times, but getting to hear from my babies was worth it. I need 12,000 more books on Maxon & America

Thought I‘d like this one bc of Christmas & time loops, but bleeeegh. Not my type of writing & all that family arguing/dysfunction at the beginning was drowning out the rest of the story. Found myself looking for the point of it all

I was feeling so-so about this until their 7000th break up and miscommunication. It‘s NOT okay to be this hot/cold, to literally never let your partner get a word in when they‘re explaining & then run away or be secretive. And then random stuff kept happening that just didn‘t add substance to the story at all because they‘re ✨unhealthy✨

😍 cute! I had the audiobook for this & really enjoyed it! It was a creative dilemma and a great friend group, even though I felt the most chemistry from the two mains. The blasts into the past happened so sporadically that it was easy to forget they did, but they were fun to read. Big on them for forgiving each other and not holding a grudge. I also liked that nobody was a true villain

💛 Donna Tartt, you destroy me. What a beautiful, tragic, haunting story. Her characters and writing are all-consuming; they‘re terrible people who make terrible choices & get to be poetic about it. The ending was so sad and exactly what needed to happen. I‘m wrecked!

batsy I love this book! And I love that this pic somehow goes with the book 😁 1mo

Fun! The suuuper embarrassing moments really made it for me 😂😂 I loved Calvin‘s honesty/openness & thought it was a really great, ironic trait towards the end. They had nice chemistry & I loved her uncles. Also sad to say we all know a Lulu 🙄😒

Can‘t tell you how excited I was for this. Except I BAILED??? 😭 Adam Silvera is one of my favorite authors; I‘ve binged his books in days. Which means I could tell that this *DID NOT* feel like his writing. It felt bland, forced, and I didn‘t make it past their first meeting. Super disappointed 🥲 hope to revisit

I liked the tension, just felt like the story ended with it & then started up again, which was weird. It was a really well written struggle with substance use, and I also like how strong and firm Grey was with boundaries from page 1. Not a lot of growth there, but it was a fine read

😍 so much fun! Hilariously written characters & absolutely believable feelings. I love time loops & really appreciated that this one actually explained what caused it in a non-complicated way. The writing was beautifully visual, even with the Taylor Swift lyrics inserted throughout.

Mad About You: A Novel | Mhairi McFarlane
Panpan

🤨 I keep stumbling upon wordy novels with very British English and jokes/references that fly over my head. The side comments make this hard to read; everything was given an extra explanation or backstory, which made me lose interest. It also took almost 100 pages to get to the next plot point, which is wild.

💛 easy read; literally bolted through it in less than 12 hrs. A bit predictable, great pacing, and overall very heartwarming. Reminded me of Love and Other Words a little too much, but I‘m a sucker for this kind of story no matter what!!

💜 cute! I thought something sneaky was happening and was surprised to realize the truth. Team Perry since day one and I wish we got to see more of that side than the other storylines that ended up not being as significant. Also, the epilogue randomly spiced it up, which seemed rushed/random because it was so last minute

BennettBookworm Yeah absolutely agree!! 3w
themonaisa @BennettBookworm Hi! Right? It was overall a cute story and easy read! What did you think? 3w
BennettBookworm Definitely- I really enjoyed it but that last page felt so abrupt haha. A little unnecessary at that point. Like I enjoy steamy scenes, but maybe better to have it earlier in the story rather than like, “Oh it‘s almost the end, we forgot to include something spicy..” 3w

Cute! Very Hating Game. Loved the emphasis on healthy relationships, conservation, and women‘s empowerment. Had a little bit of everything and the pacing was pretty good too! I was meh over the reason they kept fighting & the insistence that Nikolai was creepy when he honestly seemed nice! (until the dancing 😂) Hungry for Graham Crackers now, ofc 😎

What a sad story. Beautifully written rollercoaster. I had a hard time thinking all this happened within one person‘s lifetime, but it was overall a powerful story about self-acceptance, control, love, penance. Lovely parallels of Evelyn growing in desirability the more she made herself small. Really highlights the lengths a person would go - and the sacrifices they‘d make - to both hide and achieve.

Mehso-so

It was ok; I ended up just skimming through it for the sake of finishing. It was a little mechanical & hard to read when it got wordy in very British English. I liked their relationship, just wish we got to see it develop more. I also liked that her ex wasn‘t this evil stereotype. Also everybody seemed horribly sexist and judgy except Jamie?? Weird. He was the best character; I liked his vulnerability and honesty the most

🎅🏼 perfect holiday dosages for those of us who miss the Season 24/7. Very cute, lighthearted read. Finley was juggling so much at once, and I like that some of the conflict didn‘t need a happy ending - though most of them did get one, of course.

🧡 super cute! I really liked Gabe, Ollie, and Chani; their dynamic and the club scene were my favorite parts of this book! The sporadic articles in the middle of things was weird at first, but it helped give context. It was also never clarified whether Gabe was really similar or (creepily?) carving experiences to be what Chani had said she dreamed about. Like how the book shop was exactly her perfect day. Overall a fun, quick read 📚

I‘ll pick this up again eventually. As a massive super fan of Christina Lauren and someone who can read their books in a matter of hours, this one was hard to get into. Not my favorite by Adam Silvera, yet just as characteristically devastating and emotionally impacting as his newer books. It‘s wild and lovely to read his first publication and see how much he‘s grown as an author. One of my favs for sure! I definitely liked the ending more with the 2020 addition. There was something that made this book hard to finish; it was also so tragic and heavy. But fantastic message & symbolism

NOT what I expected. Might need days to process or just be 🙅🏻‍♀️ Easy to binge but not lighthearted at all. It was interesting to see my view of Grace shift throughout. From being excited for her discovery, to seeing her as the villain, to getting hardcore Catcher in the Rye vibes. It‘s about painful self-discovery and trying to grow up. Didn‘t like the language of their insults & everyone treating a teacher/student relationship like it was ok

🫠🥰🥹 Beautiful ending!!!! I feel so happy we got to experience it. I love that every chapter of this felt like a big bomb of drama and longing. Even though their true feelings were OBVIOUS to us, I like that them not admitting it didn‘t feel they were clueless/ignorant, which kept the will-they-won‘t-they entertaining for me. Super likable characters & such a cute story!!

I need Becky & Adam to write EVERYTHING I ever experience from now on?? Their words sing together and paint such raw teens with really big love and messy feelings. I felt so frustrated at their fights but didn‘t expect them to solve it in any other way. Plus, I simultaneously want to be Dylan and have a best friend like him. Engulfed this book in 3 hours because it‘s just that addicting!!! Getting to see Maxon and America as parents is even more beautiful than seeing them as kids. Colleen Hoover books are a little overhyped for me. Yes, they‘re often entertaining and tell stories about topics people don‘t talk about enough, but a lot of the time it seems like she just repeats the same lines throughout. The beginning of this was fun & the end was heartbreaking, but the in-between felt like a lot of the same for me. It also seemed like the writing quality changed as the book was finishing. Overall a good read, just not a fav

I think this was one of the saddest CL books I‘ve read. The characters were so beautiful, and Macy + Elliot‘s friendship grew so naturally that their fallout hurt thrice as much. The layers and layers of grief and trauma are pounded in these pages (though it‘s sad that the horrible truth about Christian‘s party - including crying during the “next time” - wasn‘t acknowledged past what it meant for their relationship). And the last line?? 😭💙🫠
