Um...$100?? Think I'll pass

Listened to this over audio & loved the narrator. Such a sweet, cozy story perfect for this time of year. Similar to House in the Cerulean Sea. Are there really too many stories about finding your family/the ones you call family, keeping each other safe, understanding past traumas & having the room to heal? Especially since we know that there are too many people in our society that have been hurt by being told they were too different.

Managed to finish this in a gap between clients. This was too twee for me and I didn't enjoy the romance
Cosy fantasy is a hit or miss genre

This is a sweet, very cozy fantasy about witches and family/no family/found family. I read it as an online read with a small group of others and found lots to discuss and lots to like.

Thank you @Eggs for the #SundayFunday tag! 🤗
I have lots of favorite witches but I think I‘ll go with the characters that Sangu Mandanna writes, specifically Mika Moon in the tagged book & Sera Swan in A Witch‘s Guide to Magical Innkeeping, although all of the witchy secondary characters in these books are a delight too. I like my witches quirky, witty & funny & her characters are good examples of all of those attributes. 💚💚💚
Play along! 🤗

This has been my favorite so far this year. A comfy, found family journey. Have a Happy Birthday!
#SundayFunday

Don‘t get me wrong, I really loved A Witch‘s Guide to Magical Innkeeping!
But I had really hoped for a direct continuation of Mika‘s story. I wanted to see her new students, the struggles she‘d face in her situation. I wanted to see more of the developing romance with Jamie.
Hopefully we‘ll get that someday. 💙
#SundayFunday Have a wonderful day, and don‘t forget to tag me!

Such a magical hug of a book! Highly recommend as a palate cleanser and distraction from the current dumpster filled with sardines that‘s been sitting out in the heat for five days situation our country is in. To, you know, put it mildly 😂😂🤪🤪 #readyourkindle

I thought this was a cute book. I‘m always a fan of the found family trope. I was a little taken aback by the secret that was being kept but it worked. It felt a little bit like a variation on The House in the Cerulean Sea.

This absolutely cozy book oozes found family and witchy shenanigans, yummy magical teas, 3 rowdy children and reminded my of The House In The Cerulean Sea. It is about love and how being nice and being kind are two different things- and in the end we will be around people who are nice but it is the people who are kind that will matter. I think about that now- how this book shares an important message. #antifabookclub #overcomingevilempires

Thank you @Deblovestoread my kids love the book! It is so gorgeous. I can't wait to read the very secret society of irregular witches! All the sticky notes will come in hand while homeschool planning!
@DinoMom @Chrissyreadit thank you for putting it together!

Love love love love LOVED this book.
So sweet, super lovely, incredibly feel good.
I only want to read this genre for the rest of my life.

I had a great time. Love a man with an Irish accent. Can‘t wait for Mandanna‘s next book this year!!
4 stars | #romance #witches #twowitches #beltane

This is not my genre. (I read it to get a Goodreads bookmark.) So I didn‘t know what to expect. This book is a bit more sappy than I really like, but it was also a bit more magical than I thought it would be. That combination was just right and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Witches and humans solve a problem and maybe start a bit of a revolution in the world of both. Magic, love, family, and a happy ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The Very Secret Society of Witches met on the third Thursday of every third month, but that was just about the only thing that never changed.”

Well this was perfect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A story largely about kindness. With all the darkness lately, this was a truly lovely story! I picked this up to satisfy two goodreads challenges in one swoop. It‘s not my typical kind of read, so here‘s a challenge serving its purpose! Mika is tasked with helping some young witches learn to wield their powers safely, but discovers surprising secrets that could change the way witches must live in the world.

Awww. This was such a sweet book. Not my usual fair, but I tore through it like a slice of cheesecake. Witches, romance, intrigue, plot twists, etc. great read for a cold winter‘s day.

Just finished this audiobook on Spotify! Absolutely loved it! I‘ve seen it described as “cozy” multiple times and I have to agree. I would love a sequel to this because I want more of Mika Moon and the girls! 🥰

This one was so fun! It had a different take on found family & a touch of witchy-ness. 🧙 I was hoping to read this in October, but my turn finally came in January.

Thanks for doing this challenge again this year Andrew and reminding of what a great reading year I‘ve had

This was a lovely little cozy story about magic and teaching and building community.

Another I blame Litsy for this recommendation. One of my 5🌟 reads of the year!
#12Booksof2024 OCTOBER Choice

This was a wonderful cozy book to read! I liked it a lot. It‘s also the last one I read off my #AuldLangSpine list. @JamieArc thank you very much again for providing me with good books throughout the whole year!

This book is so cozy and warm. About what makes a home and family.
Set in the lead up to Christmas so even though there‘s witches, it‘s a perfect read for December as well.
And though there‘s romance here, that‘s not the main focus of the book.

3✨ This gave me a magical kids Nanny McFee vibe. I really enjoyed the homeschool witches, secret society aspect of this book. The characters were easy to like and the world building had a lot of interesting elements that could be explored more.

All witches are orphans. & the rules state it is better for witches to be raised alone. So imagine Maya‘s surprise when she gets contacted out of the blue to help tutor three young witches.
This was the perfect cozy fantasy to end the month on. Warm & soft, w/ so many absolutely lovely characters, this was a joy to read. I loved how the magic worked. The romance felt a bit quick, but overall this was so sweet.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

It is a cute story but not on par with other books that are similar. I enjoyed it, but it is more of a fluffy read, and I was expecting so much more. I'm still glad I read. 3.5ish ⭐️

#LittensLoveRomance Review: What a great book and HEA for our characters. I grew so attached to everyone who lived in Nowhere House, and in the end, even Primrose was growing on me. I‘d love to see more books set in this universe. She has another witchy story coming out next year but not sure if it‘s connected. The writing, the setting, the characters, the real issues - they were all so well done. I highly recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were great, and I laughed, cried, and sighed with relief. #LitsyLoveRomance #31by31Readathon #SpookoweenReadathon #Witchaton #LongNights #ReadAway24 #PumpkabooHuntSize @StayCurious @Catsandbooks @TEArificbooks @DieAReader @Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES @TheSpineView @PuddleJumper #HauntedShelf #FrightClub @Jadams89

I can‘t wait to try the tea in my new mug! Perfect witchy reads too! Thank you again!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.27-28: Whoops, bringing Primrose to Nowhere House was a gamble - they need her for the memory spell but what will they do about her guardianship of the children? I do think the solicitor is the greater danger. A man like that wouldn‘t stop until the inhabitants of Nowhere House were eradicated. But will Primrose separate the children?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25&26: Well, thank God for that! So happy Jamie went to her and that she put an actual address on her contract so he was able to find her. I really hope she can believe that she‘s worthy of everything that Nowhere house and its inhabitants can offer her. Now, to deal with that solicitor…I‘m worried! Aren‘t we all?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.23&24: excuse me while I try to pick up the pieces of my broken heart. This last chapter gutted me. I never saw that twist coming - did you? What a complicated situation they find themselves in and I‘m not sure how they‘ll get themselves out of it. Read on! We must! (Channeling my inner Ian a bit.)

#littensloveromance I couldn‘t help myself, I had to read to the end and get my HEA fix ❤️ things got tense there for a bit ( hence my inability to stop reading) but all‘s well that ends well. This was a delightful witchy tale with zero spooky factor and very low key sexy bits

My favourite book of 2024 so far! A warm, uplifting and unputdownable book. The author writes with humour and suspense, and brings diversity to her storytelling.
An isolated witch, Mika, is given the opportunity to embrace a new job, a new family and a new home. Looking after three young witches brings challenges. Magic isn‘t the only challenge that comes knocking at the door to Nowhere house.
A perfect mix of magic, family and romance. 5🌟

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.21&22: Mika is definitely attached to the inhabitants of Nowhere House, and they are attached to her. I wish she could believe that the other shoe maybe won‘t drop. But she‘s had a lifetime of disappointments and old habits die hard. I hope Jamie takes a leap of faith with her and shows her what love can be like.

Just finished this last night - starring a witch who specializes in potions 🧪

#WordSearch the word hallow. It's the closest I could get without it being in Halloween. #HauntedShelf #FrightClub @PuddleJumper @Jadams89

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.19&20 Mika and Jamie keep having difficult conversations but it‘s bringing them closer together. That road trip was tough but worth it, for Jamie but also for Mika. I hope she acknowledges that she can‘t continue to live her life so lonely. Changes need to happen in her life but also in the witch community.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17&18: Jamie came to Mika‘s rescue! I mean - my heart ♥️ The romance in this book is picking up, intermingled with lovely and sweet conversations, between Mika and Jamie and with Ian and Ken, wherein we get to know these characters so well. But what happened with Jamie‘s family? I‘m sure Mika will find out on their little fieldtrip. At least Jamie is willing to bring her along. That‘s a big step for him I think.
