pickSara Linton is back in Grant County, there is joy in seeing her family, sadness confronting the painful past. Suicide or murder? Will Trent is called in as there is uncertainty with the local police investigation, is it a cover up? Ineptitude? Where does Lena fall in all this ? Slower pace but a deeper dive into the main characters of this series.
pickThis one was a little slower than earlier novels, but it was still an excellent procedural. It‘s twisty and complex, just like the characters. Not having read the Grant County series, I enjoyed this dive into Sara Linton‘s past and the complicated history there. As always, I love watching Will Trent noodle his way around crime scenes, making enemies, and solving murders.
pickIt‘s nice to be back in Grant County…even if Sara Linton isn‘t happy about being there. The fourth installment of the Will Trent series takes Sara back to Grant County for the Thanksgiving holiday. The tragic loss of her chief of police husband, Jeffrey, four years earlier, makes this an emotionally difficult return. 🩺

pickYet another great book in the Will Trent series. This one was a bit slower than the previous books but still good. I wish Will would kick Angie to the curb (so to speak) and get together with Sara. I think they‘d be good for each other. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Will Trent kinda takes a back seat in this story with familiar faces from Grant County becoming the main characters. I loved revisiting that world and I enjoyed the growing relationship between Sara and Will. I'm curious how things will play out once they're back in Atlanta.
Gritty crime with plenty of twists to keep you on your toes. This is my favorite so far in the Will Trent series.

pickFinished another Will Trent book and it is enjoyable as the previous one. This one is less extreme than the last, it was more about deep investigation, the sharp mind of Will Trent, and his growing but offbeat relationship with Sara Linton. This was more about the people in it than the crime. Will was always smart but this revealed his investigate and interrogation skills which was the highlight of the book.
pickI have NOT missed loony Lena Adams one bit! Another great entry in the Will Trent/Sara Linton series. And then I immediately dipped into the NF on the right. You will find me in this slashy/stabby state until Nov. 4 or thereabouts.
pickOverall, I liked this book. The author did an excellent job with characterizations and establishing tension, particularly surrounding a police force being investigated by an outsider. Unfortunately, the ultimate killer made very little sense. I don't think she did a very good job of setting up who the killer was. It seemed implausible because it came out of the blue. Still, good insight into human emotions and motivations.
pickA Roller Coaster Ride of Emotion
This was a bit different from other Will books I've read. I admit, I didn't like where the story went.
I mean, yes, the surprise element was there. When it comes to brutality, gore stuff and crime solving cases, it's the same. Beautifully crafted by the author. Don't get me wrong. Okay? I love it. I'm trying to focus on where the story goes. More of the history of characters way back Grant County.

This prompt makes me think of fictional characters who find their own “wonderwall.” Karin Slaughter‘s books that feature Will Trent & Sara Linton come to mind. For Will, Sara is almost the definition of the description of a “wonderwall,” as described in the lyrics by Oasis.
pickAnother excellent book in the Will Trent Series. This one acted as a strong bridge to the shocking ending from the Grant County Series, as events all took place in Grant County and feel this rounded of a lot of events from that series. Thoroughly enjoyable to be back with Sara and her family, and some great moments between Will and Sara in this one. I can‘t wait to read on to see what happens. Thoroughly recommend both series.
Want to get lost in a book this afternoon so cracking open the next book in the Will Trent Series.

Just finished this one on audio. Narration was ok. Not one of my favorite Karin Slaughter books. Pretty Girls was so much better. This one was just so-so for me.
Ever read too many heavy books and reading just starts to feel like a chore? I've bit off more than I can chew, couple that with a sinus headache that won't quit and I just feel like giving it all up! I think I'm going to get through these, one by one, and settle into a Roald Dahl book or maybe Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing. #brokemyreadingspirit
Soooo I decided to get out all of my physical TBR (not including eBooks and audiobooks). Yikes! 57 in total!!! My GR reading goal is 50, so in theory I could spend no money on books this year and clear my TBR. Haha haha. Like that‘s going to happen! I‘d like to get through half of these, but some are parts of a series so I‘ll need to get the rest too 🙄😂❤️📚 I should be able to tick off a few letters on #LitsyAtoZ too 😊

so-soI wanted to love this but I didn't care about solving the mystery. The stakes never felt that high because I didn't care all that much about the corrupt police storyline.
Also, Angie didn't even make an appearance but still managed to ruin the ending of the book. Hate her.
This #nastywoman just voted. I love early voting. There was nobody in front of me. I walked right in and voted. I didn't even have time to read on my kindle. I always feel weird about reading on my kindle at the library, although I did borrow this ebook from that library. #Imwithher
