Finally finished this one.
Jordan has a good start and a good end but the middle is just so boring.

One of my #bookspin #doublespin picks from March
Very late with my pick‘s again but we‘re here and we‘re working with what we have.
Here‘s my March #bookspin and #doublespin picks
This months prompts were use a color wheel and use prompt cards. The color wheel said Orange and the cards said Animal On The Cover.
Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done. Well, the last 25% was. It‘s been bedlam here since last night & I‘m exhausted! Anyone who‘s hosted a toddler birthday party knows exactly how I feel😵💫Jaxon had the time of his little life with all his friends from daycare, so that‘s all that matters. This was Bk5 of TWOT & while it drags a little in the middle, there‘s a lot of great stuff too. Especially with Mat. Don‘t watch the tv series, READ THE BOOKS🙏!
Hauling butt to get my #Scarathlon2023 #bujo spreads done by Sunday! I‘m #audiojournaling to the 5th book in The Wheel Of Time series & am almost finished, the audiobook at least.I know, I‘ve already done my bi-annual reread this year, but after hate-watching that abomination of a tv show🤬, I needed my Two Rivers peeps, coz that show is NOT it. I‘ve never seen such callous disregard for the legacy of an authors life work!! #SpookyGhostClub 1pt
Alright book 5 done, long read but lots of action. Definitely some exciting scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. Though some of the character work is painful to read. Overall a good book in the series.
It took me longer to get through this one than the others. I'm sad about the ending and I have one question, is it valid to Google what's gonna happen to one character through the rest of the series just for my peace of mind? I just want to know if I should read the rest of the series with hope or with despair.
This one didn‘t hit it for me. It was good, don‘t get me wrong. But it wasn‘t my favorite one. The number of instances in which women “sniff” when they have any sort of emotion— did I miss something? Should I be sniffing more? Or Nynaeve tugging on her braid? I liked Mat being in this more, but I missed Perrin— he‘s still the best. 7.5/10
4⭐ I finished the 5th book of the Wheel of Time yesterday. This book definitely had more political intrigue and mysteries to discover, and that ending! Definitely going to pick up the next book soon.
I'm trying to do a bit more self-care, so I painted my nails while finishing up The Fires of Heaven. Stormy gray seems to be a fitting color for the angst of this book.
More aptly named “The Adventures of Nynaeve's Breasts“. Most of the chapters from the women's perspectives spent a good deal of time talking about their tight, low cut, sheer dresses rather than doing anything plot-worthy. smh
I finished THE FIRES OF HEAVEN on a looooong walk. I also drank a free PSL, which turned out to be thematically appropriate because I liked both the book and the drink way more than I did the last time I tried either. Hurray!
I won a free coffee on Monopoly, too. Double yay!
Between smoke from the most recent wildfires and humidity from the rain that won‘t quite make up its mind to fall, I had a misty lunchtime #audiowalk.
Everybody ahead of me for THE FIRES OF HEAVEN suspended their hold, so I got it this week instead of three months from now! Hurray!
According to my reading list, THIS is where the series started to feel like a slog last time through, but I‘m at 48% after today‘s #audiowalk and I‘m really enjoying it. Yeah, the pacing ain‘t great, but TFoH has lots of little bits I enjoy. Like the carnival!
Bk5 of September, Bk14 of #LittensDressedInBlood & Bk2 of #SuperSeptember #readathon is done! Most today by #audioknitting except for the last two chapters. The 5th in the WOT series, the Emonds Fielders & friends are now split in many directions, Rand, Mat & Egwene with the Aiel, Nyneave & Elayne running from Tanchico & Perrin back in the Two Rivers. Onto Bk6! #ChunksterChallenge #ReadItAgainSam #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2021 #StackingTheSeries
#SuperSeptember #readathon I‘ve been #audioknitting again to Bk5 of the WOT, I‘m attempting my first ever beanie, working in the round with a colour changing wool. Hopefully it‘ll turn out to be a rib slouch beanie🤞I‘m alternating between audio & print for the rest of the series, I enjoy the audiobooks but I can read much faster than listen, each book is over 35hrs long! I have to switch to a different book next, or Sept will just be WOT month!
I finished my sons scarf while #audioknitting today! It‘s about 8ft long, has to be coz my son is 6‘5, and is fisherman‘s rib bordered by garter stitch. First time I‘ve followed a pattern & I learnt two new stitches, purl & K1b. I love the colour. I‘m now on the 5th book of the WOT, though I really need to start alternating with some #SciFiSeptember & #BookspinBingo books! Rand has now declared himself both Dragon Reborn & Car‘a‘carn to the Aiel.
This one seemed slower moving than the others. I did enjoy seeing the story advance through different POV characters. A couple sad and surprising twists led up to a satisfying ending, though! It will be interesting to see how everything plays out over the next nine books.
Aiel civil war! Epic showdowns with the Forsaken! A lot of consequential things take place in this book, but for whatever reason we spend twice as much time following Nynaeve and Elayne's traveling circus, listening to the two of them snipe at each other in their dressing room. Five books into the WoT series, things are beginning to feel slack. For books 1 through 4, I had the same, paradoxical feeling upon finishing them. (cont. below)
(Cheating a little - first line of chapter 51 🤫)
A thin thread of blue smoke rising from the plain, short-stemmed pipe clenched in his teeth, Rand rested one hand on the balcony's stone railing and looked into the garden below.
This book is so long I'm breaking at the midway point to give a “halftime review“. I have to say that I'm impressed, more than 4,000 pages into the series, how the story has maintained its pacing throughout. Every book follows a similar formula - split up the group into 3 or 4 smaller groups, scatter them across the map with their individual quests, then let events bring them back together at the end for the...

Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan absently fingered the long, seven-striped stole about her shoulders, the stole of the Amyrlin Seat, as she sat behind her wide writing table.
#JumpStart2021 #Fireworks There may be none on the cover, but this is the Wheel Of Time book in which the Illuminater Aludra appears as a member of Valan Lucas travelling circus. As the last Illuminater after the Seanchan destroy their chapter house, she is the last to know the secrets of making fireworks & plans on using it to make a weapon to destroy the Seanchan invaders.
Feeling thankful this season, a full week after moving and after opening dozens of book boxes, that I finally found this box. #WoT #WheelOfTime
So the key to enjoying WoT it's spacing out reading the books. 5 was much more enjoyable since i didn't try to cram it in immediately after 4. I'm really enjoying the series so far

Day 1: 558 pages
Still not sure why I'm reading this series. Good plot, but frustrating characters so far, and not even halfway through
Slowly making my way through The Wheel of Time series, Book 5 and going strong 😅. It's been one hell of a journey so far and still a loooong way to go yet.
Just keep telling myself don't get to attached to any of the characters, you just no it's not going to end well 😭.
#onemorepage
“Sure that they had all the wetlanders penned, the Shaido never saw the others until crashed into from behind on both sides. It was then that the lightning began to fall. And after that things really got hairy.”
Why do I have a feeling Moiraine isn‘t actually dead?
Oh hey I‘m trying to get better at keeping up with my social media this year.
I'm onto book 5 now of my #WoT re-read.
Its slow going as I'm doing the audio books on my walk to and from work so that's only an hour total (there and back) each day.
Still really enjoying it though. 👌
But seriously though, where were my boys Lolai and Perrin? And WHY DID YOU SACRIFICE YOURSELF MOIRAINE?!?! Siuan is being a bit of a bitch, all things considered. I‘m really enjoying Nynaeve‘s storyline. I like watching her grow with confidence. I keep hearing that Mat ends up being awesome but he‘s a bit of a shit right now.
At this point, I have fully given up on remembering all of the characters. I‘ll either figure it out as I go or it won‘t matter. There was a good bit of meandering in parts of this one but the conclusion was solid (and heartbreaking for me as I really like a certain character who did a brave thing). Anyway, onward to Lord of Chaos! #BuddyReadWoT
This country 😍😍😍 #UAE 🇦🇪 Today‘s sunrise, no filter needed. The sand has a habit of reclaiming everything out here. Managing to get 2 hours of listening a day just on my commute at the moment 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 #BuddyReadWOT #Fantasy #EpicFantasy
Still cranking through the audiobooks of the Wheel Of Time series, Bk5 is now finished. If it wasn‘t for audiobooks, FoxtelGo & Netflix, this health flare would‘ve had me dosed up on Valium! Besides this I‘ve been binging The Hot Zone, Chernobyl & a brilliant British drama called MotherFatherSon👍 Rand has made temporary camp in Rhuidean with the Aiel until the Shaido start to move through the Jangai Pass to Cairhein. 5⭐️
March has turned out to be a very good month for my WoT Reread…Book 5 done makes 3 books in one month☺️ I understand many critics‘ complaints about the slower pace, but it just doesn‘t bother me the way it seems to do others. I liked seeing some character development in Mat, although I don‘t really like him yet.

The ending to volume 5 was a ripper 😀 Although I should have figured out sooner how it would turn out.
I hate how much work has been cutting into my reading time lately 😞 I thought I would be further along in the series by now.
Book 5 in the epic Wheel of Time buddy read!
After 4 breathtaking novels in a row, this is where the series starts to slow down some. Rand spends too much time sitting around and talking about things that need to be done instead of just doing them. Fortunately, the ladies get a much more interesting storyline traveling with a circus, and the last few chapters make the whole thing worth reading! Not as good as the last four books, but still good!
Summer is drawing to a close for me. I'm flying home on Wednesday and then it's back to work etc...sigh..😝
I love this series.
That was not as good as the last two, but as good as the first one, the last 200 and some pages were really good, but the first half was amazing!
I have not been posting much because I have been sick for a couple of weeks. Not quite sick enough to go to the doctor but sick enough to feel pretty unmotivated about just about everything. I was able to curl up and finish this over the weekend. Not my favorite book in the series but still so good.
Another great installment in this series! This one made me cry, too.

Can you spot Daisy in this pic? 😉
Daisy and Boyfriend are asleep, so I‘m listening to the Wheel of Time soundtrack while making my way through The Fires of heaven! 🐶😴🔥
Daisy and I are heading back to Florida which means 6 hours of audiobook listening! 😎🚙🐕 #DogsofLitsy
