Worst year, month, week, day ever! Came in second trice after been interviewed for three jobs. I am at a looow point right now. Luckily, there‘s ice cream and wine, plus as a surprise I got these books in the mail, plus two packages at the PO. Also, I‘m off for the rest of the week!

Tomigirl44 So sorry - I‘ve been there (job thing) - thoughts are with you along with the hope that the right position for you will open soon. 💐 11mo
readordierachel Hugs 💕. Hope ice cream and wine helps. 11mo
Tove_Reads @Tomigirl44 Thanks! Was promised a good contract, better pay etc. at my current place, but then... plus other bad things. Need to get out of there! 11mo

squirrelbrain I know it‘s the last thing you want to hear right now, but I‘m a great believer in ‘If it‘s meant to be, it will be‘. Something far better is waiting just around the corner.... 😘 11mo
JoScho Sending love ❤️ 11mo
Tamra I‘m sorry! 11mo
LeahBergen Hugs to you! ❤️ 11mo
Jas16 Sending lots of love 11mo
Tove_Reads @squirrelbrain @JoScho @Tamra @LeahBergen @Jas16 Thank you! Add a death a month, plus cars and all electronics dying around me. Sucky, sucky 2018 ☹️ 11mo
JacqMac Books and ice cream are the best medicine. Love to you. 💕 11mo
JoRead Sorry, but on the plus side that means something better is coming your way 😊 11mo
CouronneDhiver It hasn‘t been my most fun year either...chin up, though... it‘ll all work out in the end 11mo
Andrew65 Sorry to hear that. I‘m with @squirrelbrain that fate says this isn‘t the job you‘re meant to have and something better around the corner for you. Can relate to 2018, been the toughest of years! (edited) 11mo
Tove_Reads @squirrelbrain @andrew65 I used to think that way, but this year has left me stunned with how much crap can happen all-the-time. I‘m used to ups and downs, but not downs, downs and downs. 11mo

#TuesdayTidbits
1. Tagged book, because it was an adult library book I read when I was 11, it opened the doors of Israeli history to me . I have been fascinated with all things Jewish ever since.
2. Jesus Christ to thank him. Next would be a woman like Jane Adams or Elizabeth blackwell who broke down barriers
3. Bad grammar
4. @BookLover_25 Welcome! And join the fun!

Crazeedi @Susanita I read The Source in 5th grade, I will never forget that book. The librarian permitted me use of the teachers library, I was way beyond the regular stacks. 2y

I have never read James Michener. According to reliable sources (ha), this is his best one, so I picked it up yesterday. (Don't worry, I lifted it with my legs, not my back.) ⭐️

monkeygirlsmama Pretty pic. 2y
Melissa_J I read my first Michener (Alaska) late last year. I've since bought a whole bunch of his books, including The Source. I hope it's good! 2y

MaureenMc I went through a big Michener phase in late grade school and early high school. I've yet to read this one, but it's on my shelf, patiently waiting. 2y
TheBookStacker I just got Hawaii so we shall see. 2y

#aprilbookshowers My first thought for #publishedinthe1960s was to tap our Michener collection. I was shocked when I started looking at publication dates by the length of his writing career. Some that I assumed were from the 60's were actually written in the 70's and 80's. I knew The Source would fit, because I read it in high school, and I was in high school in the 60's. And now I've definitely dated myself😊

RanaElizabeth There was a point in my reading life when I was obsessed with Michener. The Alaska one is probably my favorite. 3y
Cinfhen Love this behemoth of a novel💛💚💙 3y
Lynnsoprano @RanaElizabeth My favorite is probably Chesapeake, but I've read most of them. 3y
Fantasyfan I LOVED this. Haven't read it in many years. 3y
Ncostell I also went through a huge Michener phase, loved these books! 3y

#readinschool I went to a small church-affiliated college where you had to take at least one religion course. The prof for Bible as Literature didn't specifically assign this, but if you didn't read it, there was no way to ace his exams, since he was constantly referring to it. #photoadaynov16 #moraviancollege
