Lucky to be at home today. Warm vibes to anyone who has to be outside in the Midwest. -40 here

Good day to cuddle with a book. The view from our front door. #snowday ❄️❄️❄️
My new job involves a long commute. Leisure time has been limited the past few months. One way to “read” is with this hilarious podcast. Give it a whirl: https://www.earwolf.com/show/obscure-with-michael-ian-black/
I meant to post my books for season two of #Booked2018 & time got away from from me. Seasons 3 & 4 may suffer as personal projects & weddings are keeping me busy.

For #RoadTripGiveaway hosted by @LibrarianRyan I chose “Samba Pa Ti” by Santana: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/santana-songs/
The instrumental highs and lows of the song pair well with the ups & downs Julia experienced in the book. Translated as “Samba for you”, Julia dances around issues to please everyone. In the end, she has to realize it‘s just as important to Samba, i.e., dance for yourself.

This is a view of our condo complex from January. I‘m glad the snow is gone. If I was stuck at sea like the wild & adventurous men of The Odyssey, I‘d miss the roll top desk my parents gave us. #TheOdysseyBuddyRead @Abailliekaras
My mom with Jamie Ford. After I dragged her to a Booktopia event in 2013, she went to his next signing...without me. No complaints because my wise & wonderful mom has modeled respect, hard work & a love of reading.

I was excited to find time to visit an Indie bookstore, The Writer‘s Block, while out of town. The staff recommended local authors I couldn‘t resist. The irony was when a friend posted a link to the same store the very same day. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/travel-tips-and-articles/11-authors-recommend-u...
Audible has a good sale going. Editor‘s picks are $6.95. The tagged book was recommended by @britt_brooke
During the press conference, it was noted that Michelle McNamara‘s book did not help in any way. I was angered then calmed by Patton Oswald‘s tweet. She coined the “Golden State Killer” after there had been different, and confusing, monikers. #murderino
We saw Patton Oswalt as we walked in the building. We‘re excited to hear him & Gillian Flynn chat.
I wrapped up season 1 of #Booked2018 on March 28th. I was hoping for lighthearted science and humor in the vein of Mary Roach. Alas, no 😏
The author stressed environmental issues affecting breast health. We can try to improve in what seemed to be a defeatist attitude: “Even if we clean up our planet tomorrow, the industrial detritus of the last century has a created a three-generational problem.”
An interesting read, just not what I expected.
SO EXCITED!! We are minutes away from seeing Cecile Richards.
