Anyone willing to help out a fellow litten? @Booksy is new to litsy and just moved to a nursing home, and is in need of some reading material! Check out her post for details, and if you can, comment (on her post) with your email so she can give you her address. Feel free to help spread the word. No litten should have any shortage of books 🤗

CaffeineAndCandy Oh wow! That's so super cool of you to do that. Idk what to even say aside from thanks so much!!! 🥰❤😃 You're a real gem. 4y
CaliforniaCay @Booksy you are so very welcome! I got your email, keep an eye on your mailbox 😘 4y

Help needed! This little sleep thief is making it hard to read but I need something really engrossing to keep me awake during nighttime feeds. I‘m totally out of touch with what‘s new. Recommendations please! Thank you!

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ❤️❤️❤️ 4y
Bookzombie What a cutie! Do you read in print or listen to audio during this time? For audio I recommend Sadie by Courtney Summers and Daisy & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid 4y

Magpiegem @Bookzombie thank you so much! I read and listen. I love listening to books but i miss reading of all I do is listen. Audiobooks have definitely kept me going through the last 7 years of parenthood that‘s for sure!! 😄 I‘m really looking forward to getting started on your recommendations- they all look so good! I‘ll let you know what I think 😊 4y
Magpiegem @Bookzombie p.s I‘ve already listened to born a crime and loved it 4y
Bookzombie I hope you enjoy them! I listened to Dry, but read Flight of Dreams. I don‘t know if you like certain genres more than others, so I might have a few more recs. Also, you might check out the #newyearwhodis tag for more. 🙂 4y
bibliobliss I feel ya!! My LO turns 5 months old tomorrow and his sleep is still quite erratic. Nighttime feedings make me feel delirious and it's hard to concentrate on reading. That's why I'm shocked I've read as much as I have so far this year!! Your boy is adorable 😉 4y
Magpiegem @Readage my LO Fox was 5 months last week 😊 I‘m hardly getting any reading done 😣 but he is no.3 - all boys! It‘s the older ones that are exhausting me the most 😄 what has been you best book so far this year? 4y
bibliobliss @Magpiegem 😁 Haha!! Best reads for me so far this year are the Sherlock Holmes stories I've been reading, The Martian, Gone with the Wind, and The Diary of a Young Girl 4y

Hey Littens, what do you do when you are stuck in a rut? Not a book rut, a life rut.

For the last several weeks I‘ve felt very listless and have barely accomplished anything that I would normally or that I want to do.

I suspect I‘m mostly just burnt out, but I need some suggestions for how I might snap out of it.

Samplergal I‘m no doctor or nurse, but make sure you‘re getting vitamins and iron in your diet. Also thyroid messes with it all. Other than this, I recommended visuals to help motivate, if that‘s a to do list and checking it off. Make them SMALL things so you‘ll feel good about it. ❤️. 5y
TheKidUpstairs I second @Samplergal 's digestion of small, easy to do lists (even start the list with little things you've already done). Starting with those small things can really build a sense of accomplishment. 5y
TheAromaofBooks Sometimes getting a little bit of exercise really helps me - just getting up and walking around the block. For some reason, moving my body seems to also help move my brain! 5y
twohectobooks @Samplergal @TheKidUpstairs @TheAromaofBooks thank you all for the tips! I definitely make lots of lists and have been getting more exercise than usual. Just need to take a look at what I always do vs what I could do differently. 5y
Samplergal @twohectobooks ❤️❤️❤️Take care of yourself. 5y

Hey y‘all. I need some help.

I just came out of a year-long major depression a few months ago, so I feel like I have a tenuous grip on my own health.

Now my dad has started dropping out of helping my mom, & I‘ve become her caregiver over 80% of the time. My mom has mobility problems that continue to worsen. I‘m concerned that my dad may be slipping into a depression himself.

I‘m frustrated & exhausted. I‘d love to talk to people can relate.👇🏻

Megabooks If there‘s anyone in a similar situation that can share some wisdom/commiserate my email is booksandcooks.litsy at gmail dot com. Thanks so much! 🙏🏻 5y
audraelizabeth Im so sorry you are going through that. I have been lucky to not have to be a caregiver yet but watched my grandma do it for 17 years before my grandpa went to the nursing home. If youd like to talk, email me at audraelizabeth19@gmai..com or on here. 5y
Megabooks @audraelizabeth Thank you so much! 💜💜 I‘ll send you an email after I‘ve had some sleep and can get to a computer. (My mom and I share one. She gets it at night.) 5y

Megabooks @Cinfhen Thank you! My dad is a wonderful person, and I could not have made it through the past year without him. I hope he‘s not getting depressed himself. He really helped today getting my mom ready for her bridge group. It was a family effort! I‘m hoping he does better when we finally get done with this car business!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 We‘ll but on Saturday!! 5y
Cinfhen Family means everything.....even those moments when u want to strangle them! I‘m glad you all had a better day 😘 5y
Cinfhen And car shopping is stressful...good luck with that 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen Yes, they do. I‘ve been very lucky to have a close knit, mostly supportive family! We‘ve finally decided on a Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0T Limited Front Wheel Drive White with Beige interior.(Not that Dad‘s specific.😂😉) And we‘ve found a dealership with one in stock at a good price two hours away, so hopefully we can go get it this weekend. 😁😁😁👍🏻 5y
Cinfhen Ha!!! At least dad knows what he likes 😜 5y
Trashcanman I wish you the best, truly. I've been there and I still am going on 4 years and I don't know what to say to make it better. I hope you start feeling again. Hugs 5y
Megabooks @Trashcanman Thank you! I know you understand depression and how easily one can slip out of recovery. Hugs to you, too! 5y

Hi guys. I'm looking for some volunteers to help me with some #FeedAReader packages that were not received from matches that signed up for this swap. Would anyone be interested and able to help me send make up packages? I need 2-3 volunteers.

Thank you so much!!!!!

CaroPi If the package has to been send in Europe I am up for it! 5y
MinDea Thanks @CaroPi! They are all located in the US. Thank you so much though! 5y
Carolyn11215 This always makes me so sad. I hadn‘t signed up for this swap but happy to be a swap angel if needed. 5y

HELP! What are the best/affordable ways of shipping to the UK? I've never shipped internationally and I don't mind but the the only carriers I know either are charging $200 or won't deliver until after the due date by a long shot. Any advice or methods you can share I'd appreciate. I would hate to send things straight to the address without putting effort into wrapping and such.

PatriciaU My experience has been that it is easier and more reliable to order online and deliver directly to the person. It‘s not ideal because you can‘t add personal touches, but it‘s worked best for me in terms of getting things delivered fairly quickly. 5y
Burghbookaddict I would stop at the post office and ask them. My post office always helps me find the cheapest way. 5y
Li_21 @BurghBookAddict @PatriciaU thank you guys I'll check into it further tomorrow! 5y

I don‘t use goodreads unless I need to review an ARC. If someone has a “to read” list and a “wishlist” should I only buy off the wishlist?

tpixie I think that‘s the safest bet. I don‘t, but I think some people use their ‘to read‘ for books they have on their shelves which they haven‘t read yet. ♥️📚♥️ 5y
BethM @tpixie thanks! That‘s kind of what I was thinking. 5y
Soubhiville I‘d agree with @tpixie , I‘d buy from the wishlist to be safe 🤗 5y

tpixie @BethM @Soubhiville ♥️🎉♥️ 5y
AmyG Yes, what @tpixie said. 5y
tpixie @AmyG 🙂 5y
MaleficentBookDragon I'd go with the wish list. I use the want to read for everything I want to read, even if I own it. I also have Need To Buy list. What can I say? I like lists.😁 5y
BethM @MaleficentBookDragon specific lists are good. My person doesn't use Litsy much so that makes it hard for me. 5y
Avanders I also agree w what everyone has said. Although in *my* case it's a matter of simple laziness (or lack of time) - it's prob safest to stick to the wishlist 🤗 5y

Okay Littens! I NEED your help! I cannot get into any books right now. I‘ve picked up several different books and I read a few pages and then all I wanna do is pick up my phone and do something else. I just can‘t get interested! I LOVE reading and used to be able to read a book a day, but I haven‘t finished a book in months!!! TIPS AND TRICKS NEEDED!! Thanks in advance

Trashcanman Book of short stories I recommend Harrison Bergeron from this book. All the stories are awesome but that's my favorite from it. 5y
Kaciecalderon @Trashcanman thanks for the advice! I‘ve been thinking about getting a book of short stories! 5y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I'm a sucker for YA. That usually gets me out of a funk. Quick, easy, often pradictable, cozy & comfortable. 5y
See All 9 Comments
Kaciecalderon @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I Love YA! That‘s honestly all I read. I just can‘t get past the first chapter 5y
quirkthenerd Short stories, poems or graphic novels always to the trick for me. 5y
the.bookish.valkyrie Audiobooks always do the trick for me! And a great one that is also YA and short stories is Holly Black‘s 5y
Avanders What about a re-read of something you know you love? Audio also works great. But you might just have too much on your mind right now? Sometimes that makes it hard to focus... try getting away from usual spots, go someplace new, and bring a ya that you know you (should) like... 🤷🏽‍♀️ leave the phone in the car? 5y
Kaciecalderon Great ideas! @Avanders 5y
