I had the pure sense that I couldn‘t ever truly lose the past, or forget what any of it had meant.

All my students rave about this book! I commented to one of them that it was on my “To Read” list, and this showed up on my desk the next day in pretty polka dot wrapping! So, we‘re reading it together! I‘m so blessed!

Jee_HookedOnBookz Such a beautiful story! Loved it! 1y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Nice! I love this book. Read to both my kids more than once! (I always get weepy at the end) 1y

This “Pedal Powered Library” visited the kids I work with and gave them free books every week this summer! It‘s been so fun to watch them get excited about reading with their new books!

LoverofLit This is so sweet! ❤📚 1y

Help! Where in the world does a person buy an affordable audio book? They were $40+ at Barnes and Noble, and they had one shelf to choose from! I need a good title for a Birthday present for a book lover loosing their eyesight.

akckitty You can try looking on Amazon. Sometimes they have sales on their audible books and I can get MOST of them that interest me about $20 or under. Unfortunately, I have found that they tend to be expensive 😔 I hope someone is able to have a good answer for you!! 1y
candority I‘ve found them at thrift stores before. You won‘t have much selection, but they are cheap! Just make sure that all the CDs are present. You could also see if the person‘s library has physical audiobooks (some libraries offer home deliveries, which could be a good option if they don‘t have someone to take them to the library). 1y
Kaylark Thanks for the suggestions! 1y

I tried reading it on my phone, but I needed a physical copy. I found this beautiful leather bound edition at a used book store. The kind of store that smells like you walked inside a hundred year old book, where the shelves are overflowing, and every surface including the floor is covered with book stacks. It was glorious!

Very true!

quote

"People in the real world always say, when something terrible happens, that the sadness and loss and aching pain of the heart will “lessen as time passes,” but it isn‘t true. Sorrow and loss are constant, but if we all had to go through our whole lives carrying them the whole time, we wouldn‘t be able to stand it. The sadness would paralyze us. So in the end we just pack it into bags and find somewhere to leave it."

DebinHawaii Beautiful quote.💜Someday I will get around to reading this one. 2y

I finished it!! I found this difficult to get through, and for the first time I can say I liked the movie better than the book. I'm glad I read it though!
