What a beautiful edition of The Snow Queen I read today! I completely forgot all the details of this famous Danish fairytale, and surprisingly it felt very comforting after stressful day at work.

Reading Day!!!!
And more to come ☃️❄️ in Colorado Springs

The second installment of the Seasonal Quartet did not disappoint. While I felt Autumn was more poetic, I preferred the characters in this book. It's another thoughtful exploration of art, politics, and memory. It's interesting how Smith captures the mood of each season in each book. Looking forward to Spring (in more ways than one!)
(Picture is of a past winter hike, since this winter is not winter. We had thunderstorms last night)
I expected this to be as delightful as the cover, sadly it was not.
Honestly, it was me and not the quality of the collection. My impression is winter in the UK is generally more akin to early spring in the upper Midwest of the US, so it was difficult for me to relate to as a seasonal nature read.
Caveat, 23/24 “winter” will go down as the winter that wasn‘t.
Went to B&N with my daughter last night and finally used some of my Xmas gift cards.
I know this is terrible news for people who give me gifts, but I‘m not really buying many books these days; we have a FANTASTIC library system and I‘m plumb out space for bookshelves.
I do love the Coralie Bickford- Smith covers though, so apparently I‘m now collecting them
Got it for the art and was not disappointed. A lovely blend of ink and cut paper designs. Just a sweet winter moment.
When your niece loves Harry Potter as much as you do, she knows just the perfect present for you! #potterhead
