You don‘t need to be a gamer to enjoy the tagged book as it is ultimately about friendships and family. It‘s about connection and sometimes how those connections fade due to lack of communication or our own faulty thinking. There is one story thread that I am not 100% on board with which I will mention below if anyone whose read it wants to chime in.

I don‘t read a lot of romance but like to occasionally throw one into the mix because an HAE once in awhile is refreshing. This was a sweet story and you couldn‘t help but root for the MC. An early book (2001)of Lisa Jewell and nothing like her more recent ones. It plods along with predictable characters and plot - not what I was expecting at all 🙁 and was tedious.

The first in a new series has a lot riding on its shoulders. Not only does it have to have an interesting plot but is has to lay enough groundwork so you gain knowledge of and interest in the main characters so you want to continue on their journey. This book did an ok job of that and I am intrigued by the mystery man. However, it is sloppy editing to not notice when the wrong character is named from one page to the next.
