I really enjoyed our April #SUNDAYBUDDYREAD book. The writing, the stories & (of course) our Sunday discussions were so good. I love how much I learn from these reads & discussions and how readily I jump into books I wouldn‘t have chosen for myself.

Read with #SundayBuddyRead I had heard of poet Edna St. Vincent Millay & was familiar with a few of her more famous poems but through this memoir/biography created from her journals , I was able to learn about her life. From the mundane moments to her popularity & celebrity of her times, we get glimpses of her daily life & the world around her. While not always extremely likable, she was a talented force of nature.
I started this book not knowing anything about Millay, with a very fleeting knowledge of her work. Her diary entries are filled with joys and criticisms, some very mean spirited and cruel, as well as a vulnerable soul who fought demons and ill health. A great look at her life. A good choice for #SundayBuddyRead .
Thankfully I‘m not finishing this during a snow-storm

This quote summed up perfectly how I‘m feeling this weekend. 😅🤧 Gotta love Edna St. Vincent Millay #SundayBuddyRead
Reading for #sundaybuddyread thankful my husband took poetry courses in uni and we kept all the Norton Anthologies ❤️❤️❤️
