So it was back to work yesterday into my new role, so sadly there will be slightly less reading being done 😭 however, to cheer myself up I bought loads of new notepads, the pink being my favourite and an inspire now journal for setting my daily goals, so far I‘m loving it, really focuses me on what‘s most important to achieve in a day. #goals #work

@LapReader guess what showed up! The box was a bit worse for wear, but luckily everything inside has arrived safe! No clue or sign as to where it‘s been, but it‘s eventually made its way here and I love everything! My husband has already stolen the sweets and recipes as he still eats meat 😂 but I LOVE everything! 😍😍 I‘ve wanted this books for ages, I 💖 loose tea and the book mark and soap 😍😱💖 WOW! So finished the final novella in this series. Anyone know when the next ones coming out?? 😂😂😂🙈 Although not much occurs plot wise in this little book, I liked the character development and the plot set ups for the next book.

Last of my holiday trips I visited Chatsworth again with family. Love it there. Picked up a copy of their guidebook for a read through and also a copy of the illustrated Pride and Prejudice which I love. Also @Mitch as this is close-ish to where I live I picked up a postcard to send to you for the #JB map. I‘m unpacked and shall be able to start my replies to people!

Continuing the Maas journey!

So the comments I‘ve had are true, the second book is better than the first and that almost never happens. I‘m loving the work that Maas has created and following the journey of Feyre. I much prefer this kick ass version of her. 💖 #rhysand

Came home for one day between trips and look what had arrived! I shall be spending my holiday speeding through this! 💖👌🏻

I wasn‘t sure for a while into this book whether I‘d like it or not, it took a while for me to get into it, but it gradually drew me in and by the end I was hooked. The ending in particular was very poignant. I highly rate the audiobook for this as I thought the narrator did an amazing job!

Finally jumping on the ARC bandwagon and I have these to read to start me off. I‘m hoping for some good reads out of them.

There were some great humorous moments in this book.

So the book I‘m reading with my students the first term back has arrived! I‘m really excited to see my students reactions to it. My husband has also treated me to a For Life tea pot with inbuilt tea strainer, I‘m going to happily enjoy my new loose fruit tea with it. I bought this lovely old copy of Undine when In Hay-on-Wye. I absolutely love it, it has so many lovely illustrations in it that I‘m sure I‘ll bombard you with at some point. #hayonwye #undine

Quick, fun read! Humorous with a strong female lead and an entertaining romantic interest. The book is not going to fill a deep need for superb writing and original storylines, but it is an enjoyable read nonetheless and I‘ll definitely be reading the next one!

Okay, so this one is a hard one to review. I wanted so much to love this book and it has all the features that usually make up a favourite. It has an interesting and original premise, a bit of mystery, a romance, and yet I just couldn‘t quite click with it. I can‘t claim bad writing or any of the obvious flaws you‘d expect. I think I just found it difficult to connect with any of the characters on an emotional level, especially the MC.

I really quite liked this little poem from within the book. 💖

Me and my husband are on a short break away for our anniversary and the dogs birthday, couldn‘t resist a trip to Hay-on-Wye to visit all the book shops. I am doing well on the reads at the minute, all brilliant picks and I have Litsy to thank for that. The description on the front of the book is correct, Gaiman really does become the fireside bard! The stories are short, funny and engaging and it‘s great to see these familiar heroes in this new context. This was a really quick read that didn‘t feel taxing due to all the breaks between stories. I highly recommend this book if you like mythology.

Went to an amazing wedding yesterday. There were little bookish nods throughout, Harry Potter music playing trough the signing of the register, all the tables named after famous literary heroes- I sat at the Sherlock Holmes table. But I totally fell in love with a little drinks lounge the venue had in its main bar as that was book themed too. Love the books hanging from the ceiling 💖💖💖

Thought I‘d knock this one out as a quick read today. It‘s definitely one I would re-read with a cup of tea of a quiet afternoon. The poetry is short, succinct but heartfelt. They are often very specifically related to the authors experiences, which can sideline you from relating directly to it, but the issue raised are common enough that if we haven‘t experienced it, someone we know has. 4/5 overall.
