This is the sweetest short story of father and daughter love. There is no other relationship so special. This is also about a woman returning to herself. The ending made me laugh with delight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I do love looking back and finding joy in my week! Here are my five joys:
1. We finally got a taste of winter weather! (48 is cold for us!)
2. It‘s our first trip in our RV since July!
3. Got my Christmas nails!
4. Started getting my Christmas stuff out although I haven‘t gotten my tree up yet—that‘s waiting for me when I get home. (This is our RV tree 🎄).
5. Fire pit on a cold day with my furry blanket! There‘s nothing better!

Fun quiz, and obviously I‘m no expert on Santa Claus! I was surprised to find that he apparently is Greek? Also, that the comparatively small country of France sends Santa more letters than the US! Did anyone else know that he became Canadian? I guess I can see it—I believe it snows a lot there. 🤷♀️🎅🎄🎁😁

The Underground Railroad in this book is a literal railroad: trains, tracks, stations, conductors, the whole thing. Each state has its own lesson to learn. Each leg of the journey teaches Cora about the illusion of freedom. What struck me the most was the cycle of violence in history. I kept thinking, “Oh, that‘s like *insert historical period here*” Over and over again, we hurt each other and we‘re still doing it.

It's time to select #QueerBC authors for 2026. Thank you to everyone that suggested authors! It is a great list to pick from
I used a random picker to select 3 choices for each month. Vote for the one you most want to read. Vote here: https://forms.gle/MATW5nZ2JjospzYh8
Voting will close 21st December
I've also asked if people want authors announced monthly or as a lot at the beginning of the year. Both work for me

I read 5 books in November. They were all good. Last Ries and Alchemy of Secrets were my favorites 💚

Those responsible for this act of vandalism obviously have no understanding of the TRUTH about Thanksgiving. Also, Treaties are not given to the conquered!
More News from Native Country:
Numerous American Indigenous are being targeted and detained by federal barbarians who refuse to accept Tribal IDs.
Among those kidnapped, is Indigenous actress Elaine Miles. The actress states that her son and uncle have experienced similar harassment.

“About overcoming adversity, inspired by the life of Alaskan dog sled racer George Attla. Meaning extends beyond just running a race. Represents persevering against all odds, learning from setbacks, and finding inner strength. Can be interpreted as an encouragement to stand up for oneself and one's beliefs, and as an anti-suicide message about not letting difficult situations bring you down.“

A little late, but Thanksgiving isn‘t here yet, so maybe it still counts. 😁 I think that I actually have more skill as a guesser than as a Thanksgiving scholar! Three of my favorite Thanksgiving foods are 1) cornbread dressing (I make it with chicken), 2) a Spanish baked corn casserole which I copied from a cafeteria restaurant we frequent, and 3) pecan pie (actually, all pie—I rarely turn down pie)! 😁🦃🥧

Been watching some grand specials during this Native American Heritage Month...there is just one “string of words“ that “some“ use that always utterly irks me...the continued insistence that the Indigenous of the Americas “came from somewhere“ 👀🤨🤬 Those of my Ancestral World has always been on these Lands since Time immemorial! Created for these Lands! ✊🏼

My notes seem endless, but I tried to give the main historical essentials here.
@BookmarkTavern, These notes are better organized than the random notes I gave you a few days ago. I hope you enjoy reading through this post 🎅🏻💚🤍❤️. 23h
The variety of Santa type figures from around the world is truly incredible...even the many different styles/personalities/names of “Santa Claus“ himself is amazing.
The punishers always seem to be overlooked, but are fascinating too, especially when looking into their origin stories.
And the festivals, how the world incorporate these figures into their celebrations.
Have you read about the female legends? 👇🏼 4h
You may enjoy La Befana, and the darker legends of Grýla, and Frau Perchta.
