Perhaps a too scholarly approach this time around to DRACULA. I'll give it a try, but I am not sure if I will have the tenacity to read every annotation. I don't know how mine compares, but Ch. 1 is 41 pages with all of the annotations. 😳

This little copy with its somewhat uninspiring cover says it‘s a B&N collector‘s library edition, but I can‘t remember them having a cloth bound pocket classics line and I have no memory of how it came into my life 🤷🏻‍♀️ Mystery aside it‘s one of my much loved volumes and I‘m thrilled to dip back into it 🖤 @BarkingMadRead

Too soon for Halloween but wanted to post my very tardy review. I'll give this a soft pick. I think it was worth reading to fill in what we've all learned about Dracula through pop culture. The middle section of the book really dragged for me, however. Made a great audiobook narrated by Mark Gatiss who I know as BBC Sherlock's brother Mycroft. 💀

Visited Bran Castle today. Though many see this as Dracula's castle, Vlad never lived here. The only connection Vlad had with this place was that he was imprisoned here for 2 weeks. However, it was still cool to visit. We lucked out that it was raining hard in the morning so the crowds were small.

I started Re: Dracula a few days late but thankfully May 3rd & 4th were quick so I was able to get through them and May 5th while running errands today.

There was a lot of narrative instead of dialogue which made it harder for me at this moment in my life to stay focused. I highly encourage you to read this book if you‘ve been putting it off!
I avoided this book (and all the movies) because I‘m not a fan of horror. MISTAKE!
This is an amazing book. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I now have a much better perspective of the all the more contemporary versions of these characters of Dracula, Renfield, and Van Helsing. Wish I had read this years ago.

This audible version with the multiple narrators is perfect for the epistolary style.

When I think of coffins, my mind just goes to my favourite literary and pop culture coffin dwellers

So for my birthday this year, my mom surprised me with two minutes in Barnes & Noble‘s. Truthfully, I could‘ve done a lot more damage; however, I took my time in choosing most of the books. Here‘s what I got.
