I LOVE Peter Pan!!! ❤
Thank you for the tag sweet friend @Yuki_Onna 😘
🍁 would have to be Roald Dahl for starting my love of reading and giving my children the same joy to share together
❄ in a way as I journal things that keep me strong
🌟 I am grateful for Peter Pan as it links back to the childhood, my kids joy and one of my favourite escapes from reality

I've always wanted to read this classic so I'm glad I finally have! At first the writing was odd but considering how old this book is I should have expected it. Also the themes and ideas in this book are very traditional, and even fairly dark at times. The world of Neverland was so magical but not overly detailed, the plot was basic but fun, and overall the novel is quite short and easy to read quickly, I enjoyed the ending though its disturbing😂
When Margaret grows up she will have a daughter, who is to be Peter‘s mother in turn; and thus it will go on, so long as children are gay and innocent and heartless.

Peter Pan is an asshole.

We received a beautiful copy of Peter Pan for Christmas and we read it for bedtime story. I had only watched the Disney film, so I was shocked by the book. Peter Pan is a horrible character my son even started cheering on Captain Hook. Don‘t even get me started on Wendy and spring cleaning! #peterpan
I am using the tagged book for March's prompt for my #fairytalereadingchallenge
I listened to this dramatisation of the classic story done by Audible studios so the tagged book is just so I can post this. Although this is supposed to be aimed at children there are moments that only adults will enjoy.
not finished reading it but of what i have read so far, its really good. its about a magical fairy named peter pan who is always from the run from captain hook. its the same as the fairy tale, so far and its definitely one to read. it is an action book, of what i know so far.
I picked this one up for the #FairyTaleReadingChallenge but sadly it was not for me. I can see why some people are nostalgic about this one, but I didn't care for any of the characters or even the writing, which was casually cruel on more than one occasion (the final chapter/epilogue - "Mrs. Darling was now dead and forgotten" as a throwaway line - seriously? By her husband and NINE children?? Ugh) It's always good to check a classic off the ⬇️
The ending of this book made me s o b.
I found it beautiful and melancholy. This book touched me on a personal level and has left me in a sorry state I have to admit. I loved it. I plan on going back and underlining all my favorite lines because there was so many. Peter was written so well as was Wendy and I loved the narration.
“He was a lovely boy, clad in skeleton leaves and the juices that ooze out of trees; but the most entrancing thing about him was that he had all his first teeth. When he saw she was a grown-up he mashed the little pearls at her.”
Starting Peter Pan! And I also decked my living room windows out in rainbow prisms today🌈 😍

I read this years ago and wasn't that impressed, but I decided to revisit. My second read proved underwhelming once again for me.
In general I love the concept and characters of Neverland, I just always get bored by the story.
I'm excited still to try some other retellings of this classic though.
I‘ve been SO excited for March!! Peter Pan month for the #fairytalereadingchallenge
My first time reading the original and sooo many dark retellings out there! I went with The Child Thief and Tiger Lily for my retelling choices
Had so much fun reading this edition of Peter Pan illustrated by Minalima! So beautiful
This was my third reread of Peter Pan and I have such a love/dislike for this book. I love the story of Peter Pan, what kid didn‘t want to fly off to Neverland to see mermaids and pirates? It is so exciting and thrilling. However the book is so fast moving that pieces are missing and you have to fill them in yourself or rely on you memory of the movies because you need those to sometimes know what is happening. Still love it though!!
I must be honest as I child I was only watching the Disney series. As a grown-up I've read it and I've realised that it's hearth breaking since the beginning. Like many other children stories, as an adult you will discover another world. And like superheroes in US, these stories have been created to bring hope and joy where there was none left.
This is surely going to be an unpopular opinion and likely to give me some hate, but I didn't like this one much.
Some social commentary, some 19th/early 20th-century racism, some platitudes, a crude story and a lot of wound up nonsense.
3* for some thoughts and the literary and cultural merit it seems to have earned only.
Edit: I've got to lower its rating down to 2*. The book is far too boring and not ok for me to get a neutral rating.
All children, except one, grow up.

Eh. After three tries over the years it‘s finally finished, and I don‘t really feel happy about that. This book shows its age: the Picaninnies are a truly atrocious depiction of indigenous peoples, the whole idea of little girls only wanting to be little mothers...and Peter and Tink are just assholes. I checked off a bingo space and a line on a challenge. Best I can say. Maybe it will be good for discussion if kiddo ever reads it?
