I finished my second #ThematicCozies #Animal pick today running errands. I found it cute & enjoyable overall, especially the setting of Wagtail, Virginia, a town set up to cater to pets & the pet experience inn that the MC‘s grandmother runs there. There‘s the usual cozy quirky small town characters—here they are humans & their pets & the mystery was pretty easy to solve. I would try another book in the⬇️

DebinHawaii … series, but this first one was free on Audible & I don‘t want to pay for the next one because I am cheap when it comes to cozies! 😉😆 7h

I finished this one last week but hadn‘t reviewed it yet. I got it from the library based on the cover & description & made it a January #Roll100 pick (# 62 Any Library Book). (I also saw @BarbaraBB really liked it-always a plus!) So yeah, this book is both very dark & very good. Creepy, set at night & in Iceland where a young woman is exhausted & finds out she‘s sleepwalking to the tune of 40,000 steps on her smart ⬇️

DebinHawaii … watch. 😱🫣 A quick read & be warned there are some triggers. I don‘t want to mention them because I think the discovery of them with the MC add to the creepy horror vibe, but you‘ll see them if you look at Goodreads reviews. The ending is ambiguous which isn‘t always my favorite but I think it works in this one.

Read in one day. Yes, it's predictable - it's a romance. Kudos for addressing mental health issues, but I felt it was a bit heavy-handed with explanation/exposition at the beginning - I would have appreciated more showing, less telling. Still had me racing to read to the end!

Loved this slow burn hockey romance. Nothing like a tortured hero. The plot really worked for me and I loved both of the main characters. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series. 4 ⭐

This was a horror story that was a page turner. It was 856 pages, so it was a chunkster for sure. I read it for #FoodandLit, and I'm glad I did. About a mountaineering team where something went horribly wrong. As it turns out, I heard a story of 2 Canadian Mountaineering men who just recently received the Order of Canada for their contributions to the sport. #Read2025 #Jumpstart2025 #ISpyBingoJan @Catsandbooks @Texreader @TheAromaofBoo⬇️

Texreader I picked this one up at the bookstore as a possible book to read for the challenge but it was long and -horror-. So I took a pass. Was it very scary? 2d
LiseWorks @Texreader Personally I did not find it at all, I was mystified mostly with what was really happening. I have read worse. The accident itself as you get into the book is scary and tense. But I really enjoyed the journey of the characters and can't even imagine what it is like to get over something like this. Yes it was long but also I needed to know what was goi g to happen. 2d

07/100 I'm happy to say Book Three of the Prof. Croft series was just as enjoyable as the previous two. With each book, he reminds me less of John Constantine and more of his own character. The Mayor of NYC has decided to purge the city (thus the title) of all supernatural creatures, and Croft is enlisted to help. It's all a trap, of course, and he soon finds himself in the middle of a four way battle between werewolves, vampires, the fae, ⬇️

RamsFan1963 and humans. Usually I don't appreciate big bombshell revelations at the end of books, but this one fit in with the mystery thats been running through the first three books (who murdered Croft's mother?), so I'll allow it. Now I need to get the next book added to my Kindle. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 #Jumpstart2025 #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 2d

Such a great book…a must-read IMO. This is a reread for me, so this time I opted for the audiobook.

Jennaree3 They made this into a movie many years ago. Funny enough, I think the girl from twilight was in it 2d
mom2bugnbee I am the one person in the world who bailed on this book years ago. I wonder if I need to give it another shot. 2d
dabbe My favorite book to teach to the 9th graders. LOVE it! The movie is really good, too. It stars a very young Kristen Stewart as Melinda. 🩶🖤🩶 2d

This one is a low pick for me. I liked the characters put the plot was just so off the rails I couldn't get totally invested in the story. I've said this numerous times, I prefer characters and plots are at least plausible, if not, then the writing must be of such quality as to make up for the short comings. 3ish Stars
I doubt I will read the other books in the series. #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #REad2025 @DieAReader #LitsyLoveReads
