I couldn't find the book "The Daughter From A Wishing Tree" by Sudha Murthy in Litsy, have suggested to add it. The book nevertheless, is a must read for all the girls who wants to be inspired. It takes us through the journey of mythical stories where women bravery saves the day.

Bookishlie Truth! I finished one the other day sobbing and my poor husband thought someone had died:(. I said no just the book was sad and he‘s like.......but it‘s make believe right?!?. It sucks living with non-readers sometimes🤦‍♀️ 1y
Suchethaaahh @Bookishlie Yess, happens to the best of us.. When I finished Silmarillion, for the next entire week I seemed lost (maybe I got into the book too much), and my family thought I am having a hard time at work 💁 I tried explaining but they wouldn't believe me 🙆 1y

A short read - not scary, but entertaining. Imagine how eerie it is for a murder victim coming to his own trial! Kudos to the imagination. Recommended for a quick read, best when listened - I heard Librivox recordings.

A well rounded survey of the gang in their forrays, their ramblings, their symbols, their coverage, and their blunders too. But I just felt like this was too long. I didn't want to read a 300 page magazine article that doesn't have a cohesive story.

Prelude | Katherine Mansfield

Bailedbailed

Thank goodness, it was a short story. The content is apparently written in modernist mode, the story is without a structure, and with many shifts in the narrative.

The book mainly narrates the issues for women in the 20th Century. Not my kind of a book!

"There were all her feelings for him, sharp and defined, one as true as the other. And there was the other, this hatred, just as real as the rest. She could have done her feelings up in little packets and given them to Stanley. She longed to hand him that last one, for a surprise. She could see his eyes as he opened that..."

The book deals with the problems of an young sheepfarmer in Australia. The novel shows Harry Heathcote thwarting the envious ex-convict neighbors who harbor his disgruntled former employees and who attempt to set fire to his pastures.

The book is only 109 pages long but it is a powerful story. Personally, I found it to be a fun, quick read and particularly enjoyed the development of Heathcote and Medlicot's relationship.

Alfonzo215 I've read Edgar Rice Burroughs but never this book. I've read his "Tarzan" books. I live in USA. Can you recommend a good book from India? I just finished reading "Sycamore Row" by John Grisham. He's an attorney/author that writes legal fiction. I think his best novel was his first book "A Time to Kill". Hollywood made a movie from the book. (edited) 3y
Suchethaaahh I have read Tarzan books as well, good time pass. I like the imagination of Mr.Rice. Plenty creativity in the one posted as well. 3y
Suchethaaahh Would recommend "White Tiger" from Aravind Adiga, please share your thoughts on how you liked the book if you get a chance to read it. 3y
Alfonzo215 Great! Thank you for the recommendation. I will definitely post an opinion if I read it. 3y
