I love this story and the illustrations are insane.
On to volume 3...
This artistry is unreal. I love the way emotions and memories are drawn inside each character's mind. It makes me want to peek inside my head 😉
SI Joint injection day. I brought my Kindle and read some Locke and Key while waiting for my procedure.
I'm still really enjoying this series. The artwork is beautiful, the characters are compelling, the magic is cool and creepy...I'm a fan. I was actually kind of hoping not to like it so much so I wouldn't feel the need to commit to reading the whole series, but you can't win 'em all. 🙃
It's stupid. I didn't even know him. I think we only ever had one real conversation: "'Does your exuberantly colored hair indicate a theatrical bent?' 'Excuse me?' 'We're casting the winter Shakespeare in a few weeks. There's an opening for a fair Ophelia. If you're interested.'" But I feel like--I feel like we were supposed to be friends. And now he's gone, before I even got to know him...I wish I could forget how to cry.
An excellent 2nd installment in this series. We get some more backstory on the house and the keys, but there are still lots of mysteries and questions to be answered.
Not as gory as Volume 1, but I have a feeling that won‘t last. The mind games are on point. Can‘t wait to find out more about what exactly Dodge/Luke is, the extent of their magic and how they came to be.
We‘ve only been dating for a few weeks, but she‘s already lent me the second book in this series of graphic novels. That‘s a good sign, right?
Just finished Volume 2 of Locke and Key!!! Sooo good!!! All of the rest of them came in at the library today so I‘m sure I will have them finished by the end of this weekend! I can read one volume in one sitting, I love that! It‘s just enough to fill the reading void I have since I have been busy with nursing school and it gives me just the right amount of time for a mind break! All my Locke and Key fans are there only 6 volumes?
A key that allows you to unlock your head, interesting concept. It really adds to the story though. I can't wait to see what wacky thing the next key does.
The new bookshelves! Now we just have to fill them, which I don't think will take long. I only got about 4 hrs of reading in today, but I plan on making up for it tonight and tomorrow.
I'm a few days late posting this, but I finished volume 2 on Sunday as part of the #letsgetgraphicweeklongmarathon - I needed a break these last few days after reading 9 graphic novels between Friday and Sunday, but I've found myself constantly thinking about this series and how much I'm enjoying it (Vol 1 is probably the best graphic novel I've ever read!). This gets 4⭐️from me, not quite as good as the 1st but still excellent. On to Vol 3!
Awake but bleary eyed at 5:30 AM on New Year‘s Day as the kid simply has no mercy. 😩 Keeping him entertained with Paw Patrol while trying to get a browse of Locke & Key to wake me up. 😴😵😴 #childrenarecruel #ionlywanttosleep #illtakerevengewhenhesateenagerandwantstosleepin
Head games indeed. Back to exploring the house, Bode discovers another key. This one unlocks his head allowing him to add new thoughts, ideas or whatever just as he can remove memories or fears or whatever. He shows his brother & sister & Zack, his brother‘s new friend. No spoilers so I‘ll just say there is more family drama, general mayhem and a little murder is this volume. Again, great storytelling & fantastic art make for an entertaining read.
I couldn‘t give a proper review this as soon as I finished it, like I usually do. All I could say was “trippy.” I guess the book left me near speechless. Imagine a key that will open your head and allow you or someone else to take out or put in thoughts, feelings, and memories. It is truly frightening. Run, do not walk, to your local library or bookstore and start the series. You may be sleeping with the lights on after you read volume two.

Checking in on my simmering garbazos which are going to be my very late night dinner- about 15 more minutes I think.
Now back to Locke & Key... on the 2nd volume, totally in love with this series already!!🖤🖤
A new key is introduced into this volume and its super creative. Besides being completely invested in the plot, I also want to find out what the other keys do and what is so damn important about the house.
I love the pacing and how each volume has felt satisfying to finish, but also leaves you wanting to know more.
The next maddening step in the house from hell. The new key unlocks people‘s heads. Literally. Open up your skull and root around inside and out. Take away bad memories, input entire books and never have to study again. And while it seems like an ideal ability, what happens when you take away fear, or emotions. Seems like it would be a good idea, but maybe no.
