@shadowspeak17 I don‘t know how unpopular this opinion is but I saw a lot of people with mixed opinions and disappointment in this book. I personally loved it so much. One of my favorite reads of 2018 and maybe ever. It hit my heart in a very unexpected way.
As for a book people love and I didn‘t I would say Les Miserables. I like the musical but I had to bail on the book. Maybe one day I will try again. But for now I‘m good . Happy litsyversary!

AmyG Wow. Now I really can‘t wait to read this! 1w
shadowspeak17 Wow, now I‘m really curious about that book. 😯 Thanks for entering! 1w

Just finished this, and it was just okay. Just a story to read, nothing profound, or scary (no a horror book anyway)..
Not enough information to really care about the characters.

This is a short story or novella printed alone, so a very quick read. I‘ve read a lot of Stephen King and I believe he does short stories better than epic tales. This book is a weird concept but it‘s Stephen King after all. More a story of acceptance than anything else, and I really enjoyed the writing this time around. Sometimes he just gets it right and even basic events are interesting to read about. Worthwhile, not his usual horror though.

Uhhh.. what was that? It wasn‘t horror, it was barely paranormal.. it was just freaking weird. It sort of captured my attention because I thought there might be some big “ohhh” explanation for “why” at the end.. but there wasn‘t. I‘m guessing it‘s some sort of metaphor but it went over my head. 🤔

Reagan-reads I feel like this is one with really split opinions like The Colorado Kid, which I hated. Loved this one though 🤷‍♀️ 1mo

⭐⭐⭐⭐ One time I read a book in one day and barely noticed. This is the first Stephen King book I have ever read and I really loved his writing. The plot was very original and an interesting read. I can't wait to read more from him. #14BookChallenge #book7of14

This story has a strange concept, but hey, it‘s Stephen King! 🤷🏻‍♀️But it was short and sweet with excellent writing as usual. Recommended for King fans or if you‘re in the mood for a short story. 3.5⭐️

JanuarieTimewalker13 I really liked this one!! It was so strange, but it has stayed with me!! He narrates the audiobook, so that made it cool also. 4mo
JenlovesJT47 @JanuarieTimewalker13 he does?? I didn‘t know that! I might listen to it one of these days. It‘s such an unusual story and would make a good movie imo. 4mo
JanuarieTimewalker13 Yes! And with the audiobook you get a bonus story called Laurie. 4mo

This was an interesting little book. The concept of a man weighing less and less while staying the same body dimensions was clever. It‘s not my favorite King novel, but it‘s enjoyable and a quick read.

I requested this as a hold last week at my local library. I apparently wasn‘t looking very hard at what I was reserving, because I now have the large print copy in my possession. Whoops?

This was such a short book but it still managed to lock my heart with it.
A great little novel about friendship
The end, oh the end had me in tears at the library but, well this is how it was supposed to happen. But even though it was wholesome, it was heartbreaking. An equal mixture of both.
All in all, it beautiful. So check it out

This is a palate cleanser book, or one to read if you think King only writes scary books. It‘s more the horror of “what if?” as it relates to ourselves, not something other. And it also has a message about those who might judged or made to feel “other” in our community. Vintage King, and can be finished in an afternoon. Also, the art is his Maine. Enlarge it! AlaMich I love that!!🤣 I think you have to have a Southern accent to say it right. At least, that‘s how I hear it in my head. (edited) 4mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage @AlaMich It does have a certain ring that way. But King bases his stories more in Maine, so maybe a Maine accent. 🤪 4mo

I enjoyed this odd little story! It's only 146 pages so I finished it in about an hour and a half. I get its not the usual Stephen King fare but I like when he branches out of his usual horror comfort zone and tries new things. 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

This little gem was a perfect Sunday afternoon read. Great as always, short, singular and perfect. How Mr King keeps coming up with new ideas is beyond me. It's set in Castle Rock so he probably wrote it in his sleep.

Another short story audiobook that wasn‘t quite as good as I was hoping....maybe my audiobook preferences just run to longer, more developed stories 🤷🏼‍♀️. I did enjoy the second story, which I‘d actually already read and wasn‘t expecting to be included here, but elevation was only ok. 🌟🌟🌟

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a strong pick til the last 15 or so pages. I had a bit of an issue with what I consider a plot hole at the end, and I'm not sure how I feel about the ending as a whole. But the story was original, and I liked it quite a lot up til that point.

riversong153 Same 5mo
Traci1 @riversong153 it really bothered me that he was able to strap himself into the wheelchair and the wheelchair kept him on the ground when everything else he touched turned weightless. It felt like a plot hole to me. Idk. Maybe I missed something there, but it felt off. 5mo

Not his best work, by any means, but some parts, especially the race, were really rather beautifully written. I figured the ending very early on and the characters were so flat (the good doctor, the reformed Trumpian, the vegetarian lesbians, the main character good guy). Took me only maybe 2 hours? to read it, so if you're looking for something quick.

Pictured: love finding the titles in the story.

I‘ve been in a book slump and had to turn to Stevie to rescue me. I can always count on him to get me out of the dumps. This novella is a snapshot of the lives of a few people in a short period. It‘s amazes me how much can be packed in less than 200 pages. It‘s not epic by any means, but heartfelt and human.

Stephen King steps away from horror to tackle homophobia, sexism, patriarchy. This was amazingly devoid of his detailed descriptions and characters. Interesting.....not his best but not bad either. This is one book I would have liked to see some detail....i wonder if the characters were left dimensional to force reader to think about what they label others????anyone read this? Thoughts?

C.Perone I really enjoyed this story. Thought it was great little about how much fuller life is when you knock off the chip on your shoulder 7mo

If I‘m comparing it to other authors it‘s great, if I‘m comparing it with other Stephen King novels it‘s so-so. The plot is engaging and relevant but doesn‘t have the plot twists you expect - the novel ends neatly as the reader anticipates.

This was my first Stephen King novel. I‘m not sure if it is anything like his other books being so small. This was interesting. A unique kind of whimsical read. I would have handled myself much differently if I was in the main characters position. Overall, easy nice read.

I‘m not exactly sure what to say about it as I‘m not fully sure what to think about it honestly. It was cute and interesting but odd and mind boggling. This is the 2nd Stephen King book that I‘ve read and I‘m still on the struggle bus of whether I like his books or not. 😂 But somehow I‘m still intrigued to keep reading his books even though they‘re not really my style. It‘s so very odd just like this story.

Not bad but definitely not my favorite by Stephen King. For such a short book, it felt like it was slow and a bit dry. I did like the idea and was really rapt in the beginning and by the end I began to lose interest. It‘s not bad at all. I did enjoy it. I just didn‘t love it.
