I ended up really liking this one. I am already into Norse Mythology, so this was a treat to read. I liked the characters. The MC was a bit annoying at times (the gnome has literally my whole heart). I actually liked the romance in this one, which is usually not my thing. The world building and plot were great. Also, that cliffhanger!?! I wish book 2 was out!! 4/5

This one was very meh to me. It started off okay, but with every new part in the book, the author would re-tell you everything that happened in the last part. And they did this after every single hew part. It was very annoying like uh yeah I know what happened. I just read it! There were also way too many side stories going on. I understand that most of them had a point, but it was just too much, I was like, "Get back to the mc already!" 2/5

LiteraryinPA Oof, that sounds very annoying. 10h

Unfortunately, this one was a huge flop for me. I guessed the twist before the halfway point in the book and was hoping it wasn't that because that trope is so overdone. I also found the story hard to follow. It felt like you were jumping from idea to idea rather than a continuous story. There was also a lot of graphic violence that I felt was for shock value more than to drive the plot or necessary. Also, some plot holes at the end. 2/5

LOVED THIS. This book was so good! I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what the dreams meant. There were so many moving parts in this book, and they all came together beautifully. There were some parts my jaw actually dropped, and I had to stop what I was doing to fully listen to make sure I was getting all the tea. I do with the dreams would have been a bigger part of the story. They felt more like an afterthought st the end. 5/5

After reading the other books in the series, I should have known exactly how this was going to go. All the characters were shallow. Tally again was stuck up and full of herself, can't even stop for a second for anyone but herself. At least this one had a mystery going on to keep my interest a little. 2.5/5

This book has to be the worst in the series. I couldn't stand Tally. I understand the book was supposed to be about what they made her, but she was so annoying. Just me me me all the time while making the stupidest decisions even tho she was "better" than everyone else. She was also supposed to have a redemption arc, but she really didn't? The romance also went nowhere and just seemed dumb to add in at all. 1/5

If I hear the word bubbly or bogus ever again, it will be too soon. Holy cow, I swear both of those words appeared at least once every page, sometimes more than that. I enjoyed this book a little less than the first. I think it is following the same mold for every distopian. The same thing keeps happening to make her into the next thing as well, which is getting old. The writing is still not great. 3/5

I think this book conveys a good message about beauty standards. The characters were shallow, everything happened super fast, very insta-love. I do like the futuristic atmosphere, but the writing is obviously for YA. The ending did have me reaching for the second book, though. 3.75/5

I was so excited for this one, I am terrified of the ocean, so of course it is one of my favorite movie tropes. Running out of oxygen and being stuck in the ocean (47 meters down, the meg)... But this book did not live up to what I wanted in my head. The main character was insufferable. She was whining and annoying most of the time, and when she wasn't, she was fawning over Gabe for pages on end. I wanted more ocean story!! More explanation! 1/5

For being a YA thriller, I ended up really liking this one. I thought the story was well flushed out and was having a lot of fun with the "mean girls" of it. I felt like I could vibe with all the characters. The ending was good, and I'm hoping for another book! I did not like how annoying some of the characters were and how cheesy some things were. 4/5

This book was fun with its paranormal and astrology aspects. The story was okay but a little convoluted. I thought the reason for what was going on was super obvious from the jump. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and many different things happening at once, making it feel like a lot of ideas were trying to be crammed in. I also thought the romance was very sudden. It was just an okay book for me. 3/5

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good mystery, and I wasn't even worried about trying to solve it because I was having so much fun with the tarot readings and relationships. I think there was an equal balance of witty, humor, seriousness, and emotion. I also related a lot with her not understanding relationships and emotions #MeTooGirl. I do think this book was just missing something, the oomph. I wanted more from the characters as well.4.5/5

I loved this! I immediately was sucked in and was wondering what was going on. I was on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what could possibly be happening. I loved that this story also dives into deeper problems of parent/child trauma and linking it back to the main story. One critique I have is that I wish the characters were more dimensional. They seemed very surface level. 5/5

This one was a miss for me. I felt like this book lacked substance. There were a lot of ramblings about her life, which was pretty boring. There is a lot of talk about grief and what that can look like for others. Some quotes did hit me in the feels but not enough to stop feeling bored. I also felt every character in this book was a little selfish, which I didn't like. 2.5/5

I liked this book. I liked the romance and the talk about astronauts, space and stars. The writing is beautiful and easy to get sucked into the characters feelings and emotions like they're your friends. In the second part of the book it laid more heavily on the romance and I felt myself missing more of the space aspect. The biggest thing I didn't like was that you didn't get to journey with her on her first mission. 4/5

This book was a gut punch. I felt so many emotions during this book. Swaying between loving and hating the main character. This book was beautifully written and also written in greys. I felt like nothing about what was going on was black and white. There were so many issues brought up, even self provoking questions like what would I do in this situation? I liked the side characters. The ending was beautiful yet heartbreaking, like the whole story.5/5

This one was so boring. I struggled getting through it most of the time. It should be called "how to make a horror movie" that's it, no and survive. The entire book goes on and on how to make and direct a horror film. I didn't like the characters because there wasn't any substance to them other than making/starring in a horror movie. And the monologs, sooo many monologs. Then the build-up to the gory ending, and then some deaths happen off page!2/5

I really liked the beginning of this book. The atmosphere was great, and the story was going well. Then it got really boring in the middle... Then the whole magical part got introduced very quickly, I wish there was more time spent on that in the middle. There was just more and more and more until it completely went off the rails, and by the end, I just didn't feel satisfied and didn't connect with the characters like I wanted to. 2/5

I really liked getting to follow a lot of different people's perspectives. Some twists were predictable. Some were not, but was very twisty. There were so many characters, though, that I got lost sometimes trying to remember who was who. I also wanted more explanation of why at the end. It felt rushed. 4/5

I liked the premise of this book and the ghosty vibes. I enjoyed my time and thought it was interesting, but it fell flat for me in the middle. It got boring and very repetitive. I just wanted something else to happen. I felt like the ending was a little rushed for how long the middle was. It's still enjoyable but a slow burn, I wanted more from this book. 3.5/5

I wanted to like this one so much. The premise was good but it fell so flat for me. I thought the characters were very one tone, I wish they would have had more personality. I also discovered so many plot holes that it was hard to ignore. It also was very much a YA book, not an adult book. I also got bored at many points of the book, there was good graphics of insects, though. 2/5

I am disappointed. This book had an amazing concept, and the first little bit of this book was so intriguing. Then, it all fell apart. It heavily goes into politics and pushes stereotypes. The main character objectified women and was all around annoying. The ending was rushed and didn't explain anything. This one just fell flat on its face. 2/5

This was more of a mystery/suspense than it was a thriller. It is a very slow burn. I liked the way the author left little puzzle pieces for you to try to piece together before the main character. I didn't trust anyone and suspected everyone. I think the writing was so well done, I felt like anyone could have actually been the who did it, and it would have made sense. Beautiful writing, very atmospheric, but a little too slow. 4.5/5

I liked that this book went in a different direction with the paranormal aspect. I liked the characters for the most part. It was atmospheric, but sometimes it would get a little heavy on describing the atmosphere when I really needed something to happen. I also wanted a little more of a bread crumb trail to what was happening instead of just all at the end. I enjoyed the build-up, and this one felt slow, then info dump at the end. 3/5

Another 2 star book from this author for me. This gave me Housemaid vibes. I guessed the ending pretty quick, and absolutely no one was likable in this book. The main character would gawk at women, then in the next breath say how great of a guy he was and such a good catch. Gimme a break 🙄. I understand he wasn't supposed to be likable, but it got annoying fast. It is a fast read, but the twists and characters are lacking. 2/5

I liked this one but not to the extent of her last two. I thought this premise was such a creepy idea, but the actual setting wasn't used to its fullest. I really wish the author would have leaned more on the cryogenic aspect. I wasn't as creeped out in this one. Something creepy would happen, and the main character would explain it away and not freak out, which made me not get freaked out. The middle was boring, the ending was rushed. 3.5/5

I really liked this one! It wasn't a straight-up mystery. It had so many other elements. About how nonverbal people are treated not only by society but by their own family. Racism against Asians. What happiness means, and if we could change that, should we? And also a mystery woven into all of that. I liked how deep this book went into different subjects but not enough to lose me. I thought it was all beautifully woven in and written. 5/5

This was a good book, just not a great book. This book kept me interested enough to keep going, and you feel all the feels. I didn't really connect with any of the characters, I felt like they lacked depth. This book also doesn't have many twists or turns. It mainly just relies on the kids' fear for the thriller/ horror aspect. I wish there would have been more twists in the story to separate it from all the other kidnapping books. 4/5

The only part I found that was horror was in the beginning. There are far too many surgeries being done in lengthy detail for no reason. I really enjoyed all the questions of humanity this book brought up. What does it mean to be human? Are you any less human if we can't feel all the emotions? Should humanity be able to choose to be happy all the time or not? This book brought up so many questions and points where I feel like I could defend either side. Very well written. I did feel it was a tad too long and too many side characters' POVs. 4.5/5

This book started off very slow, I kept having to check to make sure I was correct about Johnny being her brother because it was coming off as romance to me. I wanted more from her and her love interest, I felt like their was more romance between her and her brother.

alecia3dixie This book also was way more of a thriller/mystery than her other books. I tried to read a different genre, thinking maybe I was getting too critical of thrillers at the moment. I also did not know this was a 3rd to a series, having not read the other two books. I do not know if I will after this one. Everything felt super insta love and no real build up or chemistry. Only sexual attraction. Also, the person reading this on audiobook was making the guy sound way older than her, which felt weird in the sex scenes. 2/5
