I saw this fan art and fell in love with Scarlet😳😍
Started my Journey into the lunar chronicles. I‘m a sucker for a badass MC with red hair and a cinnamon roll boyfriend, so I connected quickly with the characters. I loved how there was a switching of povs too. Cinder gave me life once again with her sarcastic attitude and cargo pants. Thorne was an amazing character and I can‘t wait to see how his love story progresses. 4⭐️
I liked it! Not quite as much as Cinder. It felt like it took awhile for the story to really get going. It took me a minute to be invested in Scarlet. I also don‘t love when I figure stuff out way ahead of the characters and have to wait for them to catch up. At least it ended well! I‘m stoked to see what happens to Cinder & co next.
I am really enjoying the Lunar Chronicles and can't believe I have waited so long to read them!! I found Meyer's suggested reading order that includes where to read all the short stories in Stars Above, so next I am going to catch up on those before jumping into Cress. This one was a little slow in spots/overly long, but that could have also possibly been because I am reading six other books in the chapter-a-day method, which really does eat into⬇
Today's #weeklyforecast ... I may have lost my mind! 😂 As you can see, the windowsill, with May's additions, is now STUFFED full!! The bottom picture is of all of May's chapter-a-day(ish) reads. I'm actually enjoying Gone With the Wind more than I thought I would, and I'm really excited about the various #PemberLittens reads. The Fall of the Ottomans is an intriguing focus on that area of WWI, and As You Wish is for #NYWD The backwards book is ⬇
I was terrible about posting updates for March, so here they come!

Scarlet … expanding my Lunar Chronicles collection. I need to finish this series & have toyed with a reread binge! I‘m pleased to have found these jackets! #LunarChronicles and #MarissaMeyer
Scarlet is a continuation of the first book of the series, Cinder. By that, society around the world is now keeping an alert for a criminal fugitive that had escape from the Eastern Kingdom. Being the most wanted person in the world, she is ought to find a way to stop Queen Levana from destroying her beloved planet.
Meyer's writing is mesmerizing & her storytelling prowess is just magnificent. The characters are interesting, partially retold, partially imaginative, making them both nostalgic & entertaining. The pace is good & fast & there is always something happening. The dual POV was fantastic & Cinder's story was able to weave around this one in a way that felt so natural. This series is so much fun and I cannot wait to see where things continue to go.
A wonderful sequel to Cinder. The author balanced the perspectives of all the characters, as well as keeping them very distinct from each other. 5🌟
I just saw the covers for this series and now I‘m bummed out that I‘ve got the old ones on my kindle.
#Scarlet is a fast-paced sequel, filled with action, a new romance and more revelations.

A somewhat distracted but still excellent follow-up to Cinder. For the full review, please visit http://benjamin-m-weilert.com/index.php/2021/05/05/book-scarlet-2013/
Scarlet was descending toward the alley behind the Rieux Tavern when her portscreen chimed from the passenger seat, followed by an automated voice: “Comm received for Mademoiselle Scarlet Benoit from the Toulouse Law Enforcement Department of Missing Persons.”

Another great book in this series! Reading this is such a wonderful escape. I love the characters and the world building. 💚
The blend of fairytale and sci-fi seems effortless with Meyer's writing. Creative, fun, adventurous, and addictive. I am excited to see what takes place in book 3.
I think of the four books Scarlet was my favorite simply for the sake we got a lot of Scarlet and I think she really was my favorite character in the books. I mean, I loved them all but Scarlet‘s fierce no-nonsense attitude is just something I really enjoyed. Also, watching her relationship develop with Wolf.
I am obsessed with Scarlet and Wolf. I loved this update on the fairy tale, and how high the stakes have gotten for Cinder! Already anticipating that Cress will kill me, given that Rapunzel is my favorite princess.... #yalit #retellings
Major Spoils for just after the beginning of chapter five
This is a bit sudden (I.e. I just paused the audiobook and logged on as fast as I could) but Cinder is so BADASS in this book and she. Just. Used. Her. Glamour!!
Thorn is a pretty interesting character and I kind of like him. I definitely see where the author is going with her obvious annoyance by him- they‘ll definitely become lovers or at least close friends by the end of this book.
Here‘s something annoying that keeps happening to me: my holds come in as soon as I borrow something!
I put a hold on Scarlet as soon as I finished Cinder, which was when I started The Rithmatist. I just finished that today and borrowed A Court Of Thorns And Roses, which I‘m about 13 minutes into. I opened up Libby a few minutes ago to start reading, and now my hold is ready. Maybe it‘s because people read at the same speed as me? Ugh!
1. Back to school! Implement new seating charts and get back in the groove.
2. Loved this whole cozy winter break just being at home with my favorite people.

Although I was initially confused, I enjoyed this 2nd book in the Lunar Chronicles series. I found myself excited when the two storylines finally intersected and came together! Looking forward to the next two books 🤗
All Cinder had ever wanted was freedom. Freedom from her stepmother and her overbearing rules. Freedom from a life of constant work with nothing to show for it. Freedom from the sneers and hateful words of strangers who didn't trust the cyborg girl who was too strong and too smart and too freakishly good with machines to ever be normal.
Now she had her freedom - but it wasn't like anything she'd envisioned.
“I'll take it,“ said Thorne, stretching out on the floor beside her and enjoying the cold hardness of the dock's floor, the obnoxiously glaring lights overhead, the stink of sewage on their clothes, and the perfect sensation of freedom.
The towering skyscrapers of New Beijing dropped away and then it was only him and the sky and the endless landscape of space.
Whilst I would recommend reading Scarlet if you've already read Cinder and want to know what happens next, I'd advise going into it knowing that it might be boring to read at the beginning, so you have to put a little more effort in than with Cinder. I didn't enjoy it as much as Cinder, but I'm excited to keep reading and find out what happens next!

Leaving the first book we do continue the story, but this book adds characters and knowledge about this world. Scarlet is this worlds version of red riding hood. The story is complete with a missing grandmother and a wolf. I was not as absorbed in this book as the first one. However, I did enjoy the new characters who should continue in the series.
When I went shopping at the B&N yesterday I saw these lovelies! I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles sooo much! I wonder if the Winter copy has come out or not, otherwise I probably would have purchased these for myself! Scarlet and Wolf are my favorite couple! 🥰
I also picked up a lot of goodies for one lucky winner of the #LBD Lizzie Bennet Diaries giveaway! (Winner announced November 1)
Loving this series so much❤️ Scarlet and Wolf just gave me all the feels. Captain Carswell was giving me Jack Harkness vibes loved him so much! And poor Cinder and Kai please let them have a reunion soon. Also, Levana must die😡 Oh And Iko is still so aborable❤️
Super excited my box set came today and can‘t wait to start Scarlet❤️ I do miss scaring the deliver person by squealing when they deliver books😂
Wasn‘t sure I was going to like this series, but after reading 1/3 of the first book I was hooked. I‘m already halfway through Scarlet, the second book, and I love the fact that the characters from the first book are in this one also just meeting new characters. I can‘t wait to finish this one so I can see what happens in the next book!
“And then I‘m going to stop hiding.”

Enjoyed that one maybe even a little more than book one. Throne is awesome, but he has to be. Otherwise Scarlets story would be even more sad than it already is. Well done again by Marissa Meyer. I think she also does a great job of mixing the genres - they just fit so perfectly well here.
I‘m enjoying this series as my fun summer reading (although I‘m getting them on audiobook). I love the play on the fairytales each book is bringing as well as the sci-fi elements.
♐️ I read my first book for the #ReadYourSign challenge!
#️⃣9️⃣ a strong-willed character
The characters in this story definitely were not short on strong will. I love the badass girls in The Lunar Chronicles and I definitely won‘t wait 4 years between books in the series again!
This book will also be counted for my county library challenge as a twisted fairy tale.
🦾 Start with Cinder.

Playing catch-up here - it‘s been a tough couple weeks for me and I‘ve been laying low. Luckily I‘m still reading a lot.
Second book in the Lunar Chronicles and I‘m still sticking with ok. It‘s a pretty good story and I wish the author and editor had a better grasp of grammar.
Started reading this one yesterday. They‘re quick reads and check off a bunch of SRP items, but I find them just ok. The author‘s grammar is poor, which drives me bonkers.
Also, it may have been a poor choice to read a series about a prejudiced society being ravaged by a plague and threatened by a violent and power-hungry dictator at this particular moment...
Starting the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series today!
Anybody else just think these covers are BEAUTIFUL!?
I‘m not into series books but I am really enjoying Marissa Meyer‘a Lunar Chronicles. Scarlet has a Little Red Riding Hood feel to it (each book depicts a different fairy tale).
I was not disappointed with this second book of The Lunar Chronicles! It was as entertaining as the first. The author did a splendid job of weaving two fairytales together in the same post-modern world. I can‘t wait to see how she connects Rapunzel in the next book! I look forward to seeing how Scarlet and Wolf‘s story unfolds, too 🔥🔥 #YA #fairytales #scifi #bigbadwolf #littleredridinghood
LOVED this one and really looking forward to finishing the series. Took my mind off some heavy things today 🙁🧡
This was an interesting listen! I enjoyed the next chapter in this story and can‘t wait to listen to the third installment ❤️🎧
It has been awhile since book 1, but time to start book 2 on audio! 🎧
How have these not been made into movies yet?? #thelunarchronicles #reread #quaranreads
