Reading in bed for hours + large hardcovers = sore hands...wish this book was printed in two separate instalments. 🙂 #firstworldproblems
I got new bedding!! Isn‘t it super cute? Lol. I freaking LOVE it! There‘s such a special satisfaction when you get into bed with fresh sheets and bedding! I also like how this is what I would call “nerd chic.” And the green pillow is an awesome homemade secret Santa gift from last year, it‘s the uniform for Tsuyu “Froppy” Asui from My Hero Academia, it stays on my bed regardless of the theme. Haha. Do you have nerd bedding too?
I finished it! I remember when this was published, and the BN I worked at had the first midnight release party. I was working 3 jobs that summer and the release was Saturday, so I worked a full day at my desk job then went to my BN shift. They said we‘d be done between 1-2 AM; our store manager didn‘t release us until almost 4.
I hadn‘t read the books until that point, but in the two weeks preceding the release I read them all, then this one too.
This has been the most enjoyable of all the Harry Potter books so far, very much enjoyed it. Have to say Stephen Fry has done an excellent job with the Harry Potter Audiobooks, really brought the characters and the stories to life. You can certainly feel things coming to a head. I look forward to listening to book 6 in June. #HPBuddyRead
I have just under 100 pages to go! Thought I‘d get some reading in at the kiddo‘s dentist appointment this morning, but no go. We had a lunch date and went to the library (for just a couple books...or 27...). It‘s hot and humid and windy - feels like a hair dryer out there. All I want to do is sit in the A/C and finish my book!
But I‘ve been invited to play dolls, so Harry will have to wait.
Even though my son is 10 and has been able to read on his own for years, he still loves our nighttime ritual of me reading to him. We‘re about a third of the way through Order of the Phoenix now - I‘d forgotten this one was the longest!
I am struggling with this book. I haven‘t read it since it first came out, and it‘s tough. Other than being huge, I find Umbridge to be too much (though of course it‘s realistic, given our current mess). I have a hard time with books that have absolutely everything going against the MC, and this one fits the bill. Just at halfway and I‘ll get through, but man, it‘s tough.
Have you created your new Wizarding World Passport? I just did! https://www.wizardingworld.com/passport
Can‘t wait to see what new fun things are unveiled as Pottermore transitions into the Wizarding World. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Started listening to the fifth book in the Harry Potter Series. Now at 816 pages and 30 hours of audio, this is a BIG book! Stephen Fry though, does an excellent job with the #audiobooks. #HPBuddyRead
I really enjoyed this reread, I had forgotten some of the things that happened in this book. Dolores Umbridge remains one of the most horrible monsters on all of literature. 💙
Also this books works for #MayScavengerHunt :
- shiny cover (the letters are shiny)
- character dies
- made into a movie
- author from a different country
- has a blue cover
- more than 300 pages
- part of a series
On to book five!! As always, I‘m loving this reread. ❤️
The side characters have my heart in this one. Luna, the best. McGonagall and “Have a biscuit, Potter.” Neville, who starts to come into his own here. Pink-haired Tonks. Ginny, finally getting some personality in this one. Every Harry Potter book is always five stars for me, though, so the review is just a formality.
I go back and forth on this book. There‘s a lot to be annoyed about (too long, Harry‘s angst, Grawp), but the highs still made the reread enjoyable. The introduction of Luna Lovegood, the pure evil of Umbridge, and that absolutely incredible ending. I still remember how it felt to read Dumbledore‘s revelation to Harry Potter. Just as dumbstruck and devastated as Harry.
Not the best book in the series, but essential in Harry‘s hero journey.
Dumbledores Army wand collection. Slytherin horcrux, handmade shadow box (says Diagonal Alley in it,) and a heat changing Marauders mug. Not pictured is the Marauders blanket, magnetic HP bookmarks, and the Unofficial HP cookbook! ♥️♥️♥️
I'm back and happy to say that I finished the OWLs readathon with all the books I wanted to read.
(Though I needed only 7, I finished 10 doing some reading challenges on Goodreads)
Maybe I will become that metal charmer after all.
What is your dream magical career?
Did you finish your OWLs on time?
Now I need to study, but I am not feeling my best so I decided to start the next book for #HPbuddyread
Already crying in advance.
I‘ve been reading this series one per month this year. This is the only one I don‘t own on audio, probably because all of the fighting and teenage angst drives me nuts. Started it on paper this morning. Hoping it‘s less nuts inducing this time around.
I‘m sure that a lot of you guys think of Harry Potter when you think of #BookToMovie adaptations. So here‘s a fun little activity for you to try. Click on the link to check out BuzzFeeds challenge. How many HP characters can you name in 10 minutes?
I have a feeling I can‘t name that many 😅 #MayMadness #Readathon #Challenge @TheReadingMermaid @RadicalReader
1) Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
2) Harry Potter 1-7
3) Goodreads probably has the most accurate list of books I've read. I start a new physical log every year and fail every time, usually before Easter.
4) my tiny balcony garden improvement and the cats on my bookshelf.
5) @youneverarrived @Yanes
"One person can't feel all that at once, they'd explode."
Oh ho ho, my dear boy, that's where you are so very wrong ??
This is my birthday cake from one of my best friends it got a bit stuck on the lid but it still looks yummy 📚📖
Modern fantasy and was written in 2003. This book is about harry going toe to toe with Umbridge and still dealing with Voldemort. The book begins with harry defending his brother from being attacked by a dormentor. He goes on trial to just be saved by Dumbledore. Umbridge takes over the school and harry and his friends learn to defend theirselves by practices by themselves.
We took part in a Harry Potter Pub Quiz last night and ended in fourth place, and not due to a lack of Harry Potter knowledge, but the last question of every round was a musical number (non HP related) that had to be identified (title and artist). This was so much #fun!!! #friends #goodfood #greatcompany
😁😁These fanfictions of Marauders are always my favourite. Sirius Black is love in these fanfictions.❤️

PS: I'm not able to give credits as these are screenshots saved in my gallery and I don't exactly know where I took them, either from Tumblr or Instagram. Sorry for that.😅
A bookish vacation at Harry Potter world in Orlando! More pics to come. I'm geeking out HARD with my daughter. 😁😊😍😄 (We are slooooowly reading the series and are currently on this one, so we were super happy to find this house.)
My Audible credit for the month came in on April 15th, so I‘ve been digging into Order of the Phoenix since then. While I really like the simple cover art for the audiobooks, I do feel an odd disorientation because I am so used the the original US covers that the change in color scheme totally throws me off! The red/orange makes total sense to represent a phoenix, but that blue book cover is so iconic!
