First audiobook in a while! Been missing my #audioreads. I haven‘t watched Bridgerton yet, and the book is always better, so you know I had to start here anyway. 😂

With the weather looking to improve this week, I‘m looking forward to doing some #audiowalking as well as some #audiostitching! How do y‘all “read” audiobooks? What‘s your favorite comorbid activity to listening to books on tape?

When in doubt, read something by Seanan. Totally forgot I had this limited edition hard copy of her most recent publication with Subterranean Press... I love how it feels like a hardcover from the 90s, so much better made than most hardcovers today. I have 423/1250 if anyone‘s wondering 😉

Anyone else think it‘s weird that March starts tomorrow? It‘s been March for almost a year! 🙃

Hope y‘all are having a lovely Sunday evening, Littens!

This book has been on my #TBR for years: today I finally picked it up & started reading.

One of the highlights of quarantine (lol for me) has been Disney pushing forward their release of their recording of HAMILTON on Broadway. Having watched it at no less than eight (8) times in the last two months, I feel like I‘m getting so much more from this book than I would have if I‘d read it in when I bought it 4 years ago.

🎭♥️📚
#theaternerd

MicheleinPhilly I only did Disney+ for the month of July and I think I watched it 8 times in that 1 month. Truthfully I stopped counting after 4. 😂 4y
lauren.lerner @MicheleinPhilly that sounds like an excellent use of Disney+ to me! (I watched Black Panther three times this weekend, twice with Disney+ so between that and Hamilton, I‘m getting my money‘s worth ;) 4y

Today‘s naptime read (surrounded by some of the books I‘ve read this year but haven‘t reviewed yet 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I loved Elison‘s The Road to Nowhere trilogy So Much (y‘all know I‘m a sucker for #dystopian #postapocalyptic #fiction ;) This book is an entirely different kettle of fish but I am already hooked even though *someone* woke up from their nap around page 27.

“When you think about it, stories have this way of running together like raindrops in a pool. Each is borne from the clouds separate, but once they have come together, there is no way to tell them apart.”

I am so glad I finally picked up this book. Each story hits differently but they all hit hard. Add this to your TBR if you haven‘t yet, it is excellent.

Back when this whole thing started, Seanan McGuire wrote a few Twitter threads about pandemics b/c more than anything else, that‘s what‘s at the heart of the NEWSFLESH series (despite it being perceived as zombie fiction.) I first read this series in 2013 & have reread it at least half a dozen times since.

After 7yrs of reading on my kindle, I finally ordered hard copies of the trilogy.

I was a BSC superfan as a kid. I still hold a grudge against the cousin who donated my entire collection when she was done reading them (it was a LOAN, Haley!!!!) When I found out there was a prequel, I had to read it.

Lacking all the filler of traditional BSC books, Martin focuses on original four club members in the summer before Kristy‘s Big Idea. I found it well conceived, well written & I was perfectly nostalgic while reading it.

Disturbing, haunting & deeply powerful, Ghost Wall is the story of Silvie & her parents spending two weeks living like Iron Age Britons alongside a professor of “experiential archeology” & his students. What happens when a desire to experience authentically goes too far?

What really struck me about this novel was the criticism against idealizing the past. Given the state of the UK these days, more folks should read this.
