Will definitely be on my favorites of 2022 list. Speculative fiction that brought tears throughout but an ultimately hopeful ending.

jlhammar One of my favorites this year too! So moving. 3mo

Won‘t most of us die in fairly unclimactic ways, our passing unremarked by almost everyone, our deaths becoming plot points in the narratives of the people around us?

A boy abandoned by his parents ends up in foster care and goes on to become a murderer. The story goes back and forth in time and through the voices of Ansel, his mother, his wife‘s sister and a homicide detective, and we see how one person‘s life can affect so many others.

Started this a couple of days ago. Cleo and Frank meet as they‘re leaving a New Year‘s Eve party in New York City and are immediately drawn to each other. Their story and the stories of their friends and families unfold. Not much plot but loads of character.

Megabooks I‘m interested in this one. 9mo
Viji @Megabooks , a lot of talk about drug and alcohol abuse but I‘m still finding the characters very engaging. 9mo

I‘ve been waiting for this book for so long, I hope I haven‘t over-hyped it in my mind. I‘m pretty sure I‘m the first person to read this copy from my library!

Reggie Think of it not as overhyped but as something to have an opinion on because all of us have had different thoughts on it. Lol it‘s very a bookclub book. You‘ll enjoy it. Have fun! 12mo
Viji @reggie, I‘m often very surprised at how readers have such wildly varying views on the same book! That‘s one of the things I love about Litsy ☺️ 12mo
