Blonde: A Novel | Joyce Carol Oates
post image

1. Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates
It has been on my TBR, and it fit more than one challenge so I finally picked it up. I'm liking it so far.
2. Normal People by Sally Rooney
Meh...
3. I want to beat my reading total from last year. I also want to commit to keeping a book journal. So far, so good...but a lot of year to go!

laurenslibrary Welcome to Litsy! 💜 2w
Curiouser_and_curiouser Welcome to Litsy! Could you tell me what you would include in a book journal? Would it be just a list of your read books or would you write reviews for each one? I'm curious as to if I should start one myself. Thanks x 1w
Jeshara @Curiouser_and_curiouser My journal includes both a list and reviews for each one. I don't necessarily write a full review. I just write down a few personal thoughts about how the book made me feel, etc. I've seen other recommendations for journals on Litsy, but I picked the one from Amazon linked below. It was a good price, good quality, and had just the details I wanted to capture. 1w
Jeshara @Curiouser_and_curiouser It also has a Notes box on each page which is convenient for tracking applicable Litsy challenges.

Reading Log: Reader's Journal for 120 books | 124 pages | cream paper | large (8.5“x11“) https://www.amazon.com/dp/198748956X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EJjfEbFGN358G

Curiouser_and_curiouser @Jeshara thank you so much! Geez, I'm learning more and more the longer I am a part of the Litsy community. I still have no idea how to take part in any of the Litsy challenges and exchanges but I'm sure I'll have a closer look throughout the year and find out more details as I go. Thanks again for the link!! 1w

Pickpick

#newrelease
Dark, intense, emotional, gripping, suspenseful, disturbing... I couldn't put this one down. It had me hooked from the beginning to the very end. The story is told from the POV of a young girl, but this is for sure an adult novel.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mehso-so

First book finished in 2020, and it fulfills prompts for 2 challenges!

I liked the story and the characters well enough, but I didn't care for how much it skipped through the characters' lives. It felt to me like I was reading snippets of their lives and missing out on important details of the full story.

1. I re-read The Handmaid's Tale, Valley of the Dolls, and the first three books of the Red Rising Saga.
2. I didn't read a lot in December, but Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts was a fun read.

TheSpineView I loved the Red Rising series! Happy Tuesday! 2w

Since this is my very first post on Litsy, I thought I'd start with what I'm reading right now.
I'm not sold on it yet, but I'm still giving it a chance.
