Sounds like an exciting read!

SilversReviews I loved this book. 3mo
AVChrista @SilversReviews I enjiyed it too! I was wondering if it was told from the perspectives of two personalities in one body (how crazy would that have been)…and was intrigued by the ending. 3mo

As I bit into my toast this morning I realized I needed something to read. The upside to multiple TBR piles is that I can quickly get a book in front of my eyes…even one that is the 29th of a series. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Diving in! I know that this is the second book in a series and I haven‘t read the first book and that‘s okay! In fact, it will be a true testament to a great story if I like it so much that I want to read the first book.

Pickpick

What a fun read! If you are looking for a book that doesn‘t make you think, try this one. Seven pages in and I was thinking, “really?”. But I found myself wanting to see where the story went and enjoying every page of it. I file this type of book under “guilty pleasure reading”.

Imaginary Friend | Steven Chbosky
Mehso-so

I had high hopes for this book and it started off great! Weird, creepy things involved the kids. The character development was believable. Then the book decided to stay imaginary and wasn‘t relatable. I expected more devastation in the real world after the nice man was thwarted. Instead, I was given the fairytale ending.
Worth the read, but I‘m not going out of my way to read any of the author‘s other works.

BehindthePages I've been seeing quite a few reviews like yours. I wanted to read this, but now I'm not so sure. 3y

So f*****g boring. I understand that these are the author‘s thoughts, but I hate the feeling of the author not knowing themselves throughout each piece. I can tolerate “what ifs” but not the sense of not knowing yourself.

Bailedbailed

I rarely stop reading a book, but had to with this one. I found the writing to be a jumble of thoughts that jumped around, which made it annoying to read. Perhaps if this had been organized in a timeline I would have been able to continue.

That Kind of Mother | Rumaan Alam

Panpan

While I liked the timeframe of the book, I was disappointed in the actual story development. It was all about a selfish housewife who was also a poet. Once she had children she had no self value outside of being a mother, which is disappointing as I see that already everyday.

The Mothers: A Novel | Brit Bennett
Mehso-so

Was disappointed when I guessed what would happen did happen halfway through the story.
Felt like the ending could have provided a little more insight, but then again I think the author was playing off of the name of the book with the way she ended the story.
Not bad, worth reading once.
