Bailedbailed

So I got this book out of a free lending library and thought it sounded pretty good. Never heard of the author before so I thought I‘d give it a shot. The story starts out ok but as I got half way through the book there was just nothing in the plot that made me want to know how it ended. When you have to force yourself to read something it‘s time to bail 😞

Perfect for a sick day read 🤧🥴 waited 6 months to get this book from the library and so far it‘s been worth it!

Had to bail on this one...got to page 60-something and just had no motivation to open it anymore. It was like reading some annoying girls bitchy diary. I have yet to figure out why they continuously compare the author to Ruth Ware or Gillian Flynn because there is no comparison in my opinion 😒

If you are looking for Pulitzer Prize winning novel this is not the book for you but if your looking for an easy quick read with a twist at the end this book is for you. Nothing spectacular but kept me reading till the twisty end. 🙃

So this book was not bad. It started out a little slow but picked up towards the end. I thought I had it figured out early on but realized I was wrong as I got closer to the end. I rated it so-so because I kinda had some difficulty putting all the pieces of the story together. Let‘s just say there quite a few puzzle pieces in the story and then there‘s me with a very short attention span 😯.

Sooo this book was pretty good in keeping me interested and wanting to find out the ending but then the ending came and I was like 🤨 ehhh a little far fetched. But if you go along with it, it‘s a pretty good quick read though.

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely kept me wanting to read more and had a good twisty ending. The plot is a bit disturbing as it deals with rape and is quite graphic so not a suitable read for everyone. Also not much dialogue in the story as it‘s mostly told in narration of a therapist who interacts with most of the characters but all in all I liked it.

I had to rate this book so-so because the ending left me disappointed. I really enjoyed the authors other novel The Goldfinch but this one kind of dragged for me. Don‘t get me wrong the author can write beautifully but this story just didn‘t keep my attention in the long run. The ending just left me with too many questions and the main plot of the story was never resolved. Kinda aggravating 😒

Good storyline, good twists, and I wasn‘t immediately able to guess the ending so that‘s a plus. Overall a good summer read with a dark side.

I felt like this book was a little long winded in the story telling and started to skim as I was getting to the end. It was just ok for me but kept me curious as to how it would end. If you like a lot of narrative and not much dialogue then maybe this is the book for you.

Definitely enjoyed the story and kept me guessing till the end but I felt the end was kind of rushed in a way..I can‘t explain it without spoilers but still a good read.

I so didn‘t want to not like this book but I just couldn‘t make it through the 1st 100 pages. I got so irritated with the dialogue between the police talking about the murderer I started skipping paragraphs and noticed I wasn‘t missing anything so had to put this one down 😕

I struggled through this book but made it to the end. Not much excitement and underwhelming plot with an ending you can guess. I skimmed over a lot of the pages as parts of the story just draaaaaagged on.

Currently reading and so far pleasantly surprised. Never heard of this author before but definitely interested in reading some more of her work 🙂

Eh this book I struggled to keep interested in. The plot was just slow and there really was no build up for the ending until the last quarter of the book. This definitely was not a page turner but the ending had a few surprises so I gave it a so-so.

This book really takes you on a ride with quite a few plot twists and an ending I never expected. Usually I can guess the outcome but this one took me by surprise. It didn‘t have me turning every page for more but was definitely a good quick read.

This book was just ok for me. I felt like the ending was underwhelming and really didn‘t tie everything together as well as I hoped. A few things i thought were not addressed and just forgotten about also. The book jacket suggests the pace is comparable to Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train...mmmm no it‘s not.

This book for me was so-so, it had some really great parts but also some really slow parts to get through. I I‘m usually a read a book in a week girl but this one took me over two months.
