I received an ARC of this book about a terminally ill boy and his father who embark on an adventure to the great wilderness of Montana as the boys final wish to kill a bear terrorizing the area. Although this novel is short, it is very thought provoking in what we truly believe what happens to us in the end. It‘s heartbreaking but also enlightening to follow along in this journey of bonding through the father and son.

Do yourself a favor and read this book when you need a laugh! I rarely laugh out load from reading but some of the stories in here had me dying. Ryan Murphy, no not THE Ryan Murphy from Glee and AHS 😂, weaves humorous tales of childhood and adulthood which I totally related to as I grew up in the 90‘s as well. You don‘t have to be a 90‘s kid though to enjoy. Definitely recommend!

Three years into her seemingly normal marriage Leah Brands life starts to fall apart. Random items around the house start moving around, mysterious objects appear, and voices are heard. Is Leah losing her mind or is someone trying to make it seem like she is? This book was a quick easy read that became a series after it was finished as the author wanted to carry the story out withthe other characters..I will definitely check out the rest!

Cozy mystery‘s are not my usual taste for reading but as a frequent Lending Library user & obviously finding this book in a one I had to give it a chance. Murder, damaged lending library, a little romance equaled out to a not too bad story. Jenny Weston moves back home with her mother after leaving her husband to only be thrown into the midst of multiple murders with her new friend & neighbor wrongfully accused. Time to prove her innocence

I‘m not sure what to say about this book without revealing too much. It truly was not what I expected and evoked emotions of anger and sadness that I usually do not get from reading any old book. I thought this book was about a dispute over an old oak between two neighbors yards but it‘s so much more than that. I wanted to reach through the pages and strangle one of the characters which would have been well deserved. Heart breaking story 😔

TalesandTexts I felt so strongly (and negatively) about the protagonist from Beware of Pity. Have you read it? 2mo

Not Your Child hooks you right away with a story about a man who believes he has found his missing granddaughter but yet this young girl has a biological mother so how can this be? This story takes you on a wild ride that leaves you questioning where the truth lies. You are slowly fed the pieces of the puzzle which keeps the reader wanting more. Easy, quick read, that I definitely recommend!

First off I did not realize that this book was part of series till I was partially through it. I hate reading any series without starting from the beginning. This story just did not capture me. Internet bully Ivy Lake falls off a cliff and the killer has never been found. In comes reporter Max Revere to save the day and solve the mystery that the cops failed to do. The characters were blah for me and the story line even worse. Moving on…

This was not a favorite of mine of Kings..I truly wasn‘t sure what I was reading half the time and wasn‘t aware it was 5 stories in one that intertwined. It took me over a month to finish this hefty book. Although the writing is good as always, the story just didn‘t do it for me 😟

tokorowilliamwallace Yay, one of the few Stephen King I've finished and remember liking. 3mo
Bec_lectic @tokorowilliamwallace did you ever read 11/22/63? That is my absolute fav King book 😊 3mo
tokorowilliamwallace @Bec_lectic I haven't. Currently I'm gunning for both The Tommyknockers (quality nostalgia vibes and characterization) and Cujo (slice-of-life era context! with the ad men sub plot). I'd probably need to find a thrifted copy in a paperback edition. Is there a lot of conspiracy theory rambling and detail-oriented text in it? If so, a greater chance for me to like it. 3mo
Bec_lectic @tokorowilliamwallace definitely some detail-oriented text but not much on the conspiracy theory. It‘s a story of potentially rewriting history through time travel. It‘s a hefty novel but I read it in 5 days because it was so good. I have yet to read Tommyknockers or Cujo. They are on my list! 2mo

So I almost bailed on this book but for some reason pushed through for an underwhelming ending. Foley is a good writer but this story just fell flat for me & never really kept my interest. Hal, a journalist falls in love with a mysterious woman whom he meets at a party only to lose her & find her again on a writing assignment years later. He slowly unfolds her secrets where the story flips through the past a & present. Overall just a bore for me

This book kind of annoyed me not only for the writing but also for the person who read it before me and had to make a million footnotes throughout the book. The book delves into the authors rape and her journey of healing on the Pacific Coast Trail. The writing for me just felt disjointed throughout the book and I never made a connection with what the author was trying to portray. Also she made hiking the PCT sound like a cake walk. Not my fav..

This book is an incredible story of a baby born at 23 weeks & the roller coaster of life, fight & survival of baby Juniper told through the narrative of her parents. I was able to actually follow this local miracle in real time as I worked with the authors mother and was updated hourly, daily or weekly as baby Juniper progressed or regressed. Reading it years later I still felt the anguish we all felt years ago as the story unfolded. Good read!

Sadly this authors work will always be compared to his first book The Silent Patient. Was this as good? No, but it was good in its own way. It almost came off as completely predictable as I was able to guess the ending but the author threw in a twist that I did not guess or expect and that redeemed the story! Easy, quick read, with short chapters that beg you to read just one more 😃

Perfect little town, perfect little neighborhood, but appearances can be deceiving. A couple is found dead in their home and the accused is released 14 months later as new evidence points towards the fact that they had the wrong person. Who really was responsible for the Truetts murder? This story was a slow burn with a lot of characters to throw you off the trail but in all not a bad read.

Powerful story and awe for the men and women that endured the storyline of this book.

Wow, what a raw, honest, semi-autobiography of life with mental illness of Sylvia Plath. Most of the time I struggle with classics as I find I need excitement & thrills to keep my ADHD brain interested but this book was truly good all throughout as we follow “Esther‘s” decent into madness. I loved the fresh look into the mind of a teenage girl in a decade where humanity seemed so pure and innocent & delved into issues still relevant today.

I‘m sad to see this book get so many bad reviews. Yes, there are a few characters to follow and the book jumps from the past to present in parts but in all the story kept my ADD brain following and interested. Three woman are intricately woven into a young mans murder and how they are all connected slowly unfolds throughout out the story. Hawkins has a way of writing about deeply flawed characters and this time she nailed it with all three!

Terrible name for a book but honestly it was not too bad of a story. The story follows a few characters through some pitfalls in their life and it contains a good testimony of how everyone can start over in life and succeed. Now this book was written in 2001 so if you are offended easily this may not be for you if you can‘t take certain references to other cultures or races. Got a kick out of them mentioning using a VCR..the good ol‘ days! 🤣
