Thank you IG for putting this book on my #ReadersRadar 🤖I admit I was having HUGE bouts of #FOMO and on a whim started listening to the audio!!!!! RIVETING!!! This book was definitely written with audio in mind as the story unfolds as a podcast. Two women who share a birthday meet serendipitously at a pub. This random encounter leads to a twisted, tragic event. Really fun! Im already putting fourth Lisa Jewell as a nominee for #AAM 2024 😜

JamieArc Going to stack add this in Libby right now 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️ 2mo
Cinfhen Definitely go audio @JamieArc 🎧❣️🎧❣️ 2mo
Megabooks She‘s hit or miss for me but I agree always best on audio!! Great review! 2mo

The first mystery to become available turned out to be more of a thriller, but in any case once I started it was a real page turner. I made progress on the rest and also started lining up August‘s books.

Logistics didn‘t work out to see Barbie, but we have plans for it next week.

Meanwhile, I discovered that the great shelf collapse messed up my bead stash more than I thought, so I‘ve directed my reorganizing attention there for now.
#bookreport

Cinfhen Sounds like your books are keeping you busy!! Sorry you didn‘t get to Barbie last week…I was curious to hear your reaction 🩷 2mo
Susanita @Cinfhen It‘s a fun movie! 2mo
Cinfhen I saw it today! #FOMO - my expectations were pretty low….it was fun seeing the way they created Barbieland 2mo

The Collector: A Novel | Daniel Silva

I love the Gabriel Allon series but the last few books have become more political in nature. This one deals with the Russian/ Ukrainian War. I don‘t disagree with Silva that Putin is the bad guy but this book, though VERY entertaining also felt very cartoonish. I enjoyed the first half of the story more than the second half and hope we‘ll see more of Ingrid in future stories. Still a fun outing with Gabriel & his crew!

Megabooks It‘s sucks when a favorite author goes in a direction you don‘t love. 😕 2mo
TrishB At least it was a pick 👍🏻 tbh I‘ve always thought he was political- but maybe originally a bit more subtle 🤷‍♀️ 2mo
Cinfhen Yeah that‘s true @TrishB it just feels less subtle now / I‘ll still read the series because #FoMo @Megabooks it‘s become a habit I can‘t break - EVERY summer a new book from Silva 2mo

#weeklyforecast I have no interest in the #camplitsy23 choices, and library wait times are so long I have to buy them, which irritates me, but #FOMO wins for now 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. I only read Nightmare Man in the middle of the day when it is sunny, and since we‘ve had rain for days, it‘s slow going. Up next: I won a copy of book 4 of Monster Slaying, so I am listening to the first 3 to catch up, plus 2 library holds I‘ll pick up this week.

Cinfhen FOMO is no joke 😅 4mo
bthegood I enjoyed Nightmare Man - very creepy - looking forward to your review - 🙂 4mo

I did it, I finished this book and I am glad I gave it another try. It is really good.

A Sri Lankan photographer dies and has a week (seven moons) to try come at peace with his life and his death in wartorn Sri Lanka. A typical #Bookerprize winner, and a worthy one.

With this one I finished the #ToB23 shortlist (bailing on two). I‘ll share my wrap-up soon.

Sharing my very tentative plans for #booked2023 @Cinfhen @alisiakae @BarbaraTheBibliophage !

These are currently my choices for #winter, no definites here. The prompts on this post and the following 3 go from left to right, top to bottom. So the tagged book is for 'any book in a trilogy', and American Sherlock covers 'proper noun in title'.

KarenUK Love your choices 👍 11mo
Cinfhen Another excellent choice - loved 11mo
Cinfhen Thanks for sharing your ideas!!! I‘m gonna work on some posts too !!! I‘m waiting to see #pop23 because a lot could change!!! 11mo

jenniferw88 @Cinfhen yeah... these are all very tentative! I'm waiting on 52 Book Club's 52 books in 52 weeks challenge to come out (some point in Nov). Not sure about #pop23 yet - will probably look at prompts and decide then. 11mo
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen here's the link to the 52 book challenge for this year: https://www.the52book.club/2022-reading-challenge/ 11mo
Cinfhen Thanks!!! I‘m trying to slow down on challenges but… #FoMo 11mo
Cinfhen Can you tag me when the challenge releases in November?!? 😘I‘m definitely curious 😝 11mo
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen of course! I've managed to #doubledip with a few #pop22 prompts this year... 11mo
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen they've released 4 prompts already (fb/instagram fans voted for them during October). Set in Dublin, Related to the word 'Murder', Octavia E Butler- inspired, and Books on the cover. #independentwomen buddy read will help with the third 😂 11mo
Cinfhen Ohhhhh thanks, Jenny!! I‘m already getting excited 😆 11mo
BarbaraBB Thank you Jenny!! 11mo
Librarybelle So incredible…thanks for posting these!!! 11mo

I‘m going with the UK definition of #booksetduringaholiday for #pop22.

Libby takes her sister Nora, a literary agent, for a month‘s holiday in the town of Sunshine Falls, also the town in Nora‘s client‘s most famous book. There she keeps bumping into her nemesis, editor Charlie.

Oh, I wonder what might happen?! It was all very predictable at the start and the ‘banter‘ drove me mad, but I didn‘t see the twist coming at the end, so a win there!

Cinfhen Ha!! I bailed on this one early on, not knowing there was a twist 🤷🏼‍♀️should I go back to it??? The banter drove me mad too !!! I felt my brain cells exploding (edited) 11mo
squirrelbrain No, I wouldn‘t bother @Cinfhen - it‘s not a major plot twist or anything, just a little a-ha moment and it‘s right at the end. I nearly bailed too to start with, so the second half is definitely better than the first but I don‘t think I‘ll rush to read any more by this author. 😬 11mo
Cinfhen Ok!! Good to know - I was pretty confident in my decision but sometimes #FoMo 11mo

Cinfhen I got your email 😊I‘m so glad Henry loves the hide & seek squirrels 🐿 my daughters dog also loves that specific toy ☺️ 11mo
Cortg Clever way to interpret holiday! I may need to go back through my reading list! ❤️ 11mo
squirrelbrain Well, I am in the UK @Cortg so that‘s what it means to me! 😁 I‘m sure you‘ll find a ‘vacation‘ too somewhere in your reading list! 11mo

The cancer is back. Lia‘s dying. She must come to terms with her past, with this harsh present and she must prepare her teenage daughter for a future without her.
It‘s a heartbreaking story told in a most unusual way. Timelines interweave and the cancer‘s got its own say in the story. It‘d be funny if it weren‘t so tragic.
It took some time for the book to grow on me but when it did I cried for Lia, Harry and Iris. #BookerPrize2022

Bookwomble Your first sentence have me a shock! I was relieved to read that it was about the book 🥲 13mo
MicheleinPhilly I just got this from the library. I‘m scared. 13mo
Ruthiella Wow! I am super curious about this one. Non-human narrators don‘t always work for me. 13mo

BarbaraBB @Bookwomble I am sorry about that, I wrote it down quite harsh indeed. The book is shocking though. 13mo
BarbaraBB @MicheleinPhilly @Ruthiella I don‘t think it‘s for everyone. It‘s quite experimental and the subject is heartbreaking. Both main storylines (the past and the present) are so good though. I hope it‘s for you! 13mo
Cinfhen I don‘t regret my decision to bail but I will say your review is giving me a bit of #FoMo 13mo
Cinfhen Also, gorgeous photo 😍 13mo
squirrelbrain Glad you ‘liked‘ it… I was getting worried as I seemed to be the only one! 13mo
BarbaraBB @Cinfhen It is very hard to read at times, especially when the subject hits home. I could just handle it but I definitely think it‘s not for everyone and I understand your choice 🤍🤍 13mo
BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain I was happy to see your review too. It is a beautiful but heartbreaking story 💔 13mo
batsy Lovely review. I'm very interested but also a tiny bit afraid. 13mo
Suet624 I‘m going in. Just picked it up at the library. 13mo

I was a little unsure about this book when I first started reading but I very quickly found myself sucked into the story and I couldn‘t put it down! My absolute favorite character in the book was Marcellus the octopus! I love love loved this book!

FelinesAndFelonies This book is causing my serious #fomo. I'm afraid I won't like it but everyone seems to love it. 🧡💙 1y
NikkiKey94 @FelinesAndFelonies I wasn‘t going to read it because I was afraid I wouldn‘t like it but it very quickly sucked me in! I‘m really glad I decided to read it! 1y

I‘m sure that I will probably finish TBoCC and Vampire before Tuesday. Circles is good, but not as propulsive.

The other three are all on Kindle Unlimited and I want to read them before I cancel my subscription.

Cinfhen I found I wasn‘t really using KU either but I hated having to cancel. Ultimately, I don‘t miss it - it‘s just #FoMo 1y
vivastory I've heard a lot of good things about both the Hailey Piper & Nana 1y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen Yes, that is my issue. Just feels like I‘m not getting my money‘s worth most months. 1y
