One of my all time favorite 🦄📚❤
Day 6: #WarmColors
These are my favorite warm colored covers I own. I just got The BloodPrint two months ago, so I haven‘t read it yet. And The Last Unicorn I have had for a while now but still not read it. I do love the cartoon though, that‘s actually how my love originally came about for the story. My mother introduced me (and my sisters) to it. Hopefully I will get around to reading it soon.
😏 This got a resounding “no” from both kids as a read aloud after I read the blurb. I‘m not surprised really because fantasy isn‘t something they typically go for, but I thought I‘d try since people seem to love it. However, son has expressed willingness to try HP, so there‘s that!
I‘m not sure how many times I‘ve read this old favorite. I love it every single time. This was the book I chose for my long term postal bookclub. In reading through the notebook I was surprised how many hadn‘t heard of the book or movie! I always assumed it was just as well known as LOTR or Harry Potter! In my family it‘s as loved as The Wizard of Oz!
I‘m glad to have been able to share it with so many, and happy most enjoyed reading it!
My #OwlPost book has returned home! It‘s been over a year (2 years? Help me out, I don‘t remember...) and it has traveled the country. I‘m going to reread it, starting tonight, before I read the journal with all of your notes. This postal bookclub has been so much fun.
Holly, thank you for including D‘Arc and the bookmarks 😊. I hope you‘ve gotten great news.
I hope all of the books are accounted for and almost home!
One of my favorite movies as a kid and definitely a book I will always love! A bittersweet tale that is just so lush and beautiful. My first (re)read of the year.
Day 5 #illalwayslovethisbook
If all fantasy were like this book, it would be my jam. I loved this one!! Had so many messages and it was just so much fun! The characters were great! And, a talking cat is right up my alley 4🦄
"These days, it takes a cheap carnival witch to make folk recognize a real #unicorn".
Such a good reference, that it's not the magic that doesn't exist, but we who can't open our hearts to it. ✨ Lovely metaphor! ?
HOLY COW HOLY COW HOLY COW!!!!!
What a lovely parcel to come home to 💕💕💕💕. I‘ve been hearing so much about this classic and it‘s been on my TBR forever, and now it‘s on my shelf...thanks to the very special @Soubhiville Surprises are just the best thing ever...thank you wonderful woman. 😘#jb
1. This was how Wally decided to sleep Sunday, the picture I took today didn't turn out
2. 2, The Neverending Story and The Icewind Dale Trilogy
3. Yes, for a couple months now
4. Yes, all the time glasses and reading glasses
5. The last book I bailed was The Last Unicorn, I just couldn't get into it and found it boring.
I couldn't get into it and found it boring. Read 130 pages.
Thanks for the tag @BookwormM

My #bookclub read this last month and it was my second time reading it. It‘s a thoroughly excellent grown up fairytale about a unicorn, some misfits, a greedy king, and the prince who loves her. Many people have experienced this as an animated film (which I also love!) but the book goes deeper with more complicated themes. My only quibble is that the narrative style is occasionally just a bit too distancing.
#TBRbingo update for September... looks exactly like the one for August.
I finished two books in September, but neither one was on my bingo card. I‘m not even sure I‘ll make any progress in October, either! I‘m already planning how to resolve some of these issues next year.
Had a lot of fun putting up this unicorn display 🦄
The sign reads:
“Children know perfectly well that unicorns aren‘t real, but they also know that books about unicorns, if they are good books, are true Books.” -Ursula K. LeGuin
I‘ve always loved unicorns, how about you? And narwhals, they‘re the unicorns of the sea! The idea for this painting started a few months ago. I guess there‘s a message to it that says: love. Where there is love, there is a way. And equality!🌈 In the sky, there‘s the northern lights, and snow is falling.
This brings back all the childhood feels! ❤️
In a matter of weeks out local Indigo will close and I will no longer live within walking distance of a bookstore 😭😭😭 #Imnotpanicbuyingyouare
The imagery in this book will transport you to a fantasy world where a most beautiful unicorn is off on a quest. A poetic fairy tale that I know must have deeper meaning. And I also am wondering if Red Bull the energy drink was named after the Red Bull in the story? 🤔 I found this fan art on line, created by Sarah Perkins.
Must forego the challenges for a while. Deadlines loom for three book clubs. 😬 Starting with this appealing title! 🦄
So here‘s the deal. I‘m trying REALLY hard not to buy too many new books and reading mainly off my TBR. And I‘m really doing great. And then my dad texts me how he got new books. And has two more coming in tomorrow. And I want to read them all🙈🙈 I won‘t ever climb Mount TBR like that😅😂😂😂 (I‘m also super excited about all those books, I wanted to read them for so long already😅😅)
This was one of my favorite cartoons growing up so when I recently found out it started as a book, I had to read it. I was not disappointed! The story and characters are just as magical as the film but the book provides more depth to it all. I would definitely recommend it to fans of the film or just fans of fairy tales in general.
“He dropped seven spinning balls that had been glowing brighter and brighter as he juggled them (on a good evening, he could make them catch fire), let go all his hated skills, and closed his eyes. ‘Do as you will,‘ he whispered to the #magic. ‘Do as you will.‘”
