Another Banned Book, reason- it shows the elf‘s butt. My daughter absolutely loved this book when she was little. She thought it was hilarious & silly that you could see the elf‘s backside. How people get from something like a part of anatomy that we all have to the point that it‘s pornographic is beyond my level of comprehension. It‘s a silly story & when read in silly voices that‘s all it is. I feel bad for kids who are denied the silliness of

ncsufoxes books or having books read to you in silly voices. We‘re getting past that phase here but my kids always remember us reading to them every night. They remember their favorite books (which I‘ve kept) 1mo
lil1inblue Stacking for the niblings! I cannot comprehend the ridiculous reasons for which books are banned. My brain just won't accept them. 1mo
ncsufoxes @lil1inblue I think the author has written a few more. I think there is one about a yeti & maybe a Christmas themed one. I sadly am no longer buying these style of books, now that my 10 yo has moved more onto chapter books. Such a fun book 1mo
lil1inblue @ncsufoxes Oh, wonderful! My youngest nibling is 7 months old, so I'll be buying children's books for a while. 💓 1mo

This is why I don‘t set book goals lol, summer reading is stressing me out 😂 bonus I‘m catching up on the series though.

I love this fresh take on Osamu Tezuka's classic story! The art is so smooth and really doesn't divert too far from its inspiration source in terms of design. I can't wait for the sequel to release and hope this graphic novel gets the love it deserves ❤

3 ⭐ First this book is too long. And there are so many ideas in here that it seems like a mishmash. There‘s the idea of being afraid, the idea of feeling left out, the idea of not fitting in. Towards the end the minotaur says they learned that black is just where all the colors meet seems to come from nowhere and belong to a different book. It‘s just altogether weird. I like the illustrations.

This was a good fairy tale, and I enjoyed reading it, but never felt like I fully connected with it. Like, the writing was really good (Beagle can be very poetic at times but very humorous at other moments), but I never quite connected with the characters. Still a pick! Still a fun read! I just think it‘s a book I would‘ve enjoyed more when I was younger.

Second #AuldLangSpine book from @BookmarkTavern complete!

Reggie Did you ever watch the cartoon form the 80s? It‘s dark, lovey, and sad. 10mo
BookmarkTavern His writing really is gorgeous isn‘t it? ❤️ 10mo
shortsarahrose @Reggie I haven‘t! I‘ll have to try to find it 10mo

Dentist appointment done and killing time until my haircut. Another #AuldLangSpine title, a caramel brûlée latte, and a tomato mozzarella sandwich.

I really liked this graphic novel in the lessons that it teaches children. It is a cute way of talking about friendships and how to bring out the best in each other. I would use this as a class read aloud and have students work in random partners, talk about the things that they like about each other and what they are good at, what they admire about each other. I also like the lesson it teaches about disagreements and how to handle them.
