I‘m not entirely sure how I felt about this book, but the characters engaged me enough that I‘ll call it a pick. The people building this story were my main reason for continuing; I couldn‘t really get a firm handle on the plot outside the obvious steps the story took. Maybe it was me, maybe the book, I don‘t know. Not sure I‘ll bother with the sequel — I‘ll have to see if I‘m still thinking about it in a while or not.

The Atlas Six was a book I wanted to like, but ultimately found it just okay. Not bad, but eh.

A group of six inidviduals, all approximately in their early to mid 20s, are recruited at the start by Atlas Blakely the caretaker of the enigmatic Alexandrian Society. So I read this last night in preparation for the next book. I still love it

I don‘t know if I liked this book. It‘s very character driven with no plot. I tried to like some of the characters, but they‘re all kind of unlikeable. We didn‘t learn much about the magical world. We get some history, but not really.

Six people are stuck in a mansion together doing classes or a lot of reading and then practice magic but not sure what the point was.

I might give the second book a try because I‘m curious I guess, but we‘ll see.

Definitely the building block of the series, a little lacking in excitement and could have used a little more editing in spots… but, I still really enjoyed and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

A book based on the Alexandria library, whether fantasy, non-fic or otherwise will always be a go-to for me 😊

When history is written by the victors the narrative can often misrepresent that shape.

Loved this one. On to book two.

I kept thinking of people to recommend this to while listening. It was good!!! Not tooooo much of a plot, until maybe the last hour? The little plot that does exist is great, but it felt mostly like world building and character development. Maybe bc of that, the ending was a bit heavy. Like, there was too much too quick. Maybe it‘s bc I had to tear thru this work fast- I started it too late and only had half of my 7 day borrow to make it work 🥵

This book was such a fun and chaotic romp! I definitely had a good time reading it and I‘m excited for the next two installments. However keep 3 things in mind when beginning this read. 1. It‘s a character driven book-to a fault! 2. All the characters are pretentious, and self involved (love-able assholes???)! 3. Don‘t take it too seriously and you‘ll have a ball reading it. 💖📚

I shouldn‘t like this book. The characters are all assholes only out to help themselves, but there is something so intriguing about the whole premise of magical people competing to see who will win the chance to protect a vast library.

Dark academia. Lots of characters. Sometimes difficult to keep track of everyone and everything and all the plots and subplots

the only problem I had with this book is that I thought it was a stand alone at first. Rereading this shortly!

I'm visiting family this week. While here I'm trying to finish one more book in 2022. It might end up being my 1st book of 2023.

Finally got a chance to open my #jolabokaflod packages from @BookishMadHatter and @TheKidUpstairs It has been a whirlwind of a day and I let the toddler help me open these so I may have some of the chocolate mixed up 🤣🤣 Thank you both SO much for the thoughtful treats. I thought this was a good read and not exactly what I thought it would be. Great characters and intriguing plot. I will definitely be picking up the next in the series.

This is fantasy, mystery and magic. Six candidates are chosen by the secret society of Alexandrian. Recruited by the mysterious Atlas Blakely they have to prove they are the best, one will be eliminated. I had to read very carefully as to follow what was actually going on. But I enjoyed it and will read the next book.

Although I wasn't blown away by it - I found that the setup made the big reveal at the end far too predictable - this was a thoroughly enjoyable read! I'll be definitely picking up the sequel!

Throwback to beginning of October when I started my reread of this book. I listened to the audiobook the first time and wanted to reread in the physical form before I started on the audiobook of the sequel (released at the end of last month). I really enjoyed my reread (even if I took longer than expected), and I made lots of annotations in my paperback copy!

After finishing, I started The Atlas Paradox on audio last night! Anyone else reading?

I did the first 75% of this book on audio and the final in paper. The audiobook narration is excellent and really gives a great impression of all 6 characters. A hyped book but one I really enjoyed and I‘m thrilled I read it as the sequel came out because otherwise that ending would have really annoyed me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is so rare for me to reread a book less than a year after reading it for the first time. But I really loved this book when I read it at the beginning of the year (on audio first), and wanted to reread before the second book comes out in a few weeks! I think the #Magic system in this book is so unique and fascinating!

I liked the characters: there was a really nice variety of them and everyone was somehow interesting.

I loved the atmosphere and that was the best aspect of this book. Dark and mysterious!

I disliked the writing style: it was unnecessary wordy and it was hard to get the idea behind sentences.

This didn't really have a plot. There was a group of people who had random discussions with each other but nothing really happened.

Tidied up my book cases today! Cleaned out my cart, so the top section could be used to hold books I‘ve received from Goodreads giveaways, which opened a lot of space on the main shelves. I wish my library were more aesthetic, but I don‘t have the space :/

Tagged book chosen because I picked up a paperback copy from B&N this weekend and added it to my fantasy/sci-fi shelf. I want to try to reread before the next in the series comes out!

The ending was squished and left me with a lot of questions. I really liked the first 75% of the book. I thought it was a fascinating character study.

Took me a couple chapters to get into it, but then I couldn't put it down and want more!

100/150 From the other reviews on Litsy, I guess I'm one of the few that liked this. It's not perfect by any means, almost every character is unlikable, but the mystery of the Alexandrian Society made me want to read more. Of course there was a cliffhanger ending, so I hope that the next book arrives soon. 3 ⭐⭐⭐💫

I enjoyed this. It was really slow and I found parts to be overly wordy but an interesting story that I'm curious to see where it goes. Doesn't quite live up to all the hype though.
